─ Nyak? Only this great Dongshik…?

“That’s right. We have more members now, but you know you’re still the right-hand man I trust the most.”

─ Ahem. Of course. Why drag out something so obvious, nyak? This great me is magnificent.

Dongshik proudly kicked his little yellow feet in the air.

─ Go ahead and tell me, nyak. This superior Lord Dongshik will solve it in one shot.

“Well…”

Jiwoo leaned over and whispered quietly into Dongshik’s ear.

Dongshik’s round eyes grew three times larger.

─ R-Really, nyaaak? You really want me to say that?

“Yes.”

─ Nyanyanyaak! Lord Dongshik won’t take responsibility for what happens afterward! I’ll only deliver the message and run away, nyak!

“Okay, okay. I got it.”

Dongshik fluffed his wings and made her confirm it over and over again.

He would only pass along the message. He would bear absolutely no responsibility.

Jiwoo was honestly afraid of the aftermath herself.

But she had no choice.

There was only one person she could think of who could solve this.

Seo Kangwoo.

The strongest hunter alive.

‘If he’s nearby, he’ll come help immediately…’

But she’d disappeared on a “business trip” without even telling him.

He was probably furious.

Jiwoo let out a deep sigh and dismissed Dongshik.

“Pet Skill [A Long Journey to Find My Master (F-Rank)], deactivate.”

[Dismiss Pet Dongshik’s summon?]

“Yes.”

After sending the troublesome penguin back to <My Home>, Jiwoo dusted off her hands and returned to the hunters.

“Jiwoo, we need to move out right away.”

“What about everyone else?”

“They’re all awake now. We managed to get in touch with the East Sea Guild on the way…”

“…It sounds bad.”

Kim Chulsoo delivered the news grimly.

Of the seven hunters on the main team, three had suffered severe injuries, while two were missing.

The reinforcement team that had arrived first had risked their lives to draw the monsters’ attention, allowing the others to escape.

With three boss monsters appearing at once, even veteran hunters had been helpless.

‘I hope my team is okay.’

Yoo Jaekyung.

Cha Taepyeong.

Shin Ilguk.

They were always dependable, yet worry welled up inside her.

Carrying that anxiety with her, Jiwoo headed toward the location of the last transmission alongside the Osan Guild members.

Northern Shore.

The original boss, the Kraken, had already been defeated by the main team.

The problem was the two newly appeared Krakens.

Without even a chance to regroup, the raid force had come under attack and barely managed to escape with their lives.

[This is Osan Team. We’re luring the Kraken toward the shore.]

[Special Team 7 has arrived. Engaging the target.]

The remaining two Krakens were split between the Osan Guild and Special Team 7.

The two groups successfully lured the monsters apart, with each team taking responsibility for one Kraken.

But their luck ended there.

No matter how powerful an A-rank damage dealer was, three people simply couldn’t defeat a boss monster.

“Urgh… cough, cough!”

Shin Ilguk had gone down long ago.

Leaving the unconscious man on the beach, the injured Cha Taepyeong and Yoo Jaekyung retreated toward the edge of a cliff.

They were barely hanging on, searching desperately for an opportunity to escape.

Then—

“Team Leader! [Shield!]”

A tentacle flying toward Yoo Jaekyung slammed into a golden barrier and bounced away.

Relief instantly brightened her exhausted face.

“Hunter Do Jiwoo! Where have you been?!”

“Sorry I’m late!”

Jiwoo immediately healed Cha Taepyeong before taking position behind the two of them.

Then came Jiwoo’s signature three-piece buff combo!

“[Bless Body!] [Angel Walking!] [Holy Focus!]”

The exhaustion vanished from their bodies in an instant.

All that had changed was the addition of one healer—

Yet it felt as though they’d gained an entire army.

“WOOOOOO!”

“My whole body’s overflowing with strength!”

Cha Taepyeong raised his shield against the Kraken once more, finally giving Yoo Jaekyung a chance to catch her breath.

“Team Leader, where’s Ilguk…?”

“There’s no point looking for him now. He’s out of the fight.”

The only ones still capable of fighting were Yoo Jaekyung, Cha Taepyeong, and Do Jiwoo.

Jiwoo fixed her gaze on the enormous Kraken towering over the sea.

It had suffered heavy injuries from the hunters’ attacks…

Yet it still looked overwhelmingly powerful.

‘That’s the dungeon boss…’

Can the three of us really kill that?

She swallowed nervously.

Even the seven experienced hunters from the East Sea Guild had barely managed to defeat one.

The Kraken was as large as a ten-story apartment building.

Just looking at it drained away her will to fight.

Then suddenly—

‘Wait a second… We don’t actually have to kill it.’

A simple realization flashed through her mind.

They only needed to hold it off until the East Sea team regrouped and returned.

Smiling brightly, Jiwoo shouted,

“<Homeowner’s Guardian Squad>, summon Black Dolphins!”

The instant she activated the skill, dazzling light erupted beneath the dark blue sea.

As the glow faded, three Black Dolphins appeared in the depths.

No one had explained the plan to them.

But the intelligent dolphins immediately understood Jiwoo’s intentions.

─ Whii? Whiiii?

─ Whiiiiiik!

─ Whi-whi! Whiiiiii!

Their whistles echoed across the ocean.

Compared to the Kraken, they were tiny.

But they were more than enough to draw its attention.

Taking advantage of the opening, Jiwoo activated another skill.

“[Holy Eyes!]”

System

Due to the awakening effect of <Everyone’s Supporter>, the skill’s effects have expanded.

Loading monster information…

Status

Name: Corrupted Kraken #3

Race: Kraken / Demon

The terrifying sea monster that rules the ocean—the Kraken.

Its mere appearance fills the surrounding waters with terror.

The Kraken harbors immense hostility toward all living creatures.

If you encounter one at sea, there’s no need to panic.

After all… you’re already dead.

Relationship: Hostile

“…What kind of description is that?”

The ominous system message gave Jiwoo goosebumps.

She focused on the next notification.

System

Borrowing the power of land, sea, and sky household members.

Due to the awakening effect of <Everyone’s Supporter>, the skill’s effects have expanded.

[Weak point of Corrupted Kraken #3 detected.]

A glowing red marker appeared beyond the translucent system window.

Jiwoo stared intently at it.

“Team Leader! That unusually short tentacle over there!”

“I think that’s its weak point!”

“…Getting close to that thing will be difficult.”

Wiping sweat from her forehead, Yoo Jaekyung answered.

The Kraken seemed fully aware of its own weakness.

It was protecting that tentacle with all the others.

‘We’ll have to tie down the rest of the tentacles first.’

But she couldn’t find a single opening.

Jiwoo anxiously bit her lip.

She couldn’t summon any more household members.

Unlike the Black Dolphins hidden underwater, the Ant Men or White Birds would almost certainly be seen by everyone.

‘Ugh… I really didn’t want to use this.’

She looked miserable.

But there was no other option.

At last, Jiwoo pulled out her forbidden trump card.

“Team Leader…”

“I’m heading out.”

“Hunter Do Jiwoo?”

Ignoring the confused looks behind her, Jiwoo shouted,

“[White Bird Flight], activate!”

The moment she spoke the activation phrase, her body shot into the air.

She’d dreamed of soaring through the sky like Superman.

Reality was merciless.

‘I have a fear of heights! I really do! I forgot I had one!’

Help! Somebody help me!

She’d completely forgotten about being afraid of the Kraken.

Now all she could think about was not falling.

Like a paper doll caught in the wind, Jiwoo flailed helplessly through the air.

Flutter.

Flutter.

‘This is exactly why I didn’t want to use this skill!’

What was the point of having it—

If she couldn’t control it properly?!

Fortunately…

Her wildly flailing flight managed to attract the Kraken’s attention.

Apparently deciding the flying human was an annoying insect, several enormous tentacles lashed toward her.

Crimson tentacles.

Each one as thick as a utility pole.

One hit meant certain death.

“I’m not dying hereeeee!”

My dream is to become the oldest resident in a retirement community!

With a battle cry, Jiwoo tucked her body sharply in midair.

Her head pointed toward the ground as she performed an awkward forward flip.

She barely dodged the tentacle by a hair.

From the communicator—now switched back on—Yoo Jaekyung’s frantic voice rang out.

[Hunter Do Jiwoo! Are you okay?!]
