It was probably the first time in my life that I was absolutely stuffing myself with food.

“Arell, what on earth happened to you? Why are you still so frail?!”

“Are you really okay now?!”

I didn’t know how they’d heard that I’d woken up, but the twins showed up.

It was noisy, but… having people who worried about me wasn’t so bad.

“I’m fine now.”

The twins looked me up and down with suspicious eyes. Then Fession arrived. For some reason, Harun came with him.

This lineup felt really familiar.

“Arell, are you okay?”

“Yeah!”

But as Fession stepped closer, he suddenly flinched and stared at me intently.

What was that about?

“Arell… don’t you seem different somehow?”

“…?”

The twins and Harun looked at Fession like he was talking nonsense. I answered instead.

“I am different. I’ve already eaten three bowls.”

“…!”

I hadn’t meant anything by it, but the twins and Harun looked at me with eyes full of emotion, like they were witnessing history.

Seriously… why that reaction?

Did you people raise me or something?

“I see…….”

Fession tilted his head, clearly still unconvinced, but I couldn’t resist the hunger that suddenly surged back and shoved freshly baked bread into my mouth.

This wasn’t just normal hunger.

It was probably the aftereffect of properly using divine power or whatever that was.

Better hungry than sick, I guess.

Watching me eat like a starving ghost, the twins and Fession exchanged looks among themselves and left.

I turned to Harun, who had been left alone with me.

“Aren’t you going out too, Harun?”

“…….”

For some reason, Harun stared at the ceiling, deliberately avoiding the conversation.

Maybe he figured going out with them would be exhausting and decided to stay.

You really do have it rough.

“……”
“……”

Neither of us was particularly talkative, so the dining room filled only with the sound of cutlery clinking.

“…?”

When I lifted my head, I happened to meet Harun’s gaze—he was looking at me with a warm, satisfied smile.

Why was he looking at me like that?

As I blinked in confusion, Harun’s expression shifted to something closer to pity.

Sympathetic. Sorrowful. Concerned.

Did I really look that much like a beggar while eating?

“Harun, what’s with that look?”

“I just think you’re impressive.”

“That’s sarcasm, right?”

“No. Fession feels sorry for you… for your future.”

“…?”

If it had been anyone else, I would’ve thought they were insulting me. But it was Harun. He genuinely looked distressed about my future.

He even muttered things like ‘worldwide… live broadcast…’ under his breath—words that made absolutely no sense.

Was Harun… losing it?

Then, out of nowhere, he asked me:

“Arell, are you happy?”

I didn’t expect a question like that from Harun.

I chewed my bread and thought about it.

It was a little sudden, but—

“Yeah. I’m happy.”

When I smiled brightly, Harun smiled back and gently patted my head.

“That’s good. You’re happy. You used to scowl all the time when you were younger.”

“……”

I nearly burst into tears while chewing. He’d seemed so absent-minded—yet he’d been thinking about things like that?

Watching Harun gently pat my head, no matter how I thought about it—

…Big brother!

“Can I start calling you ‘big brother’ from now on?”

“…?”

At my sudden declaration, Harun looked at me like I’d lost my mind. Still, it felt like he might give in if I pressed just a little, so I was gauging his reaction when—

Woooong—

A faint ripple of mana touched the estate’s barrier, and I sprang to my feet without thinking. For some reason, I already knew who it was.

“Arell?”

Harun looked startled as I suddenly stood up mid-meal.

“Wait a second.”

Drawn by a familiar mana signature, I headed outside the estate.

That was when Luka—wearing a mage robe torn in several places—came running toward me, eyes brimming with tears.

“Lady Arellin, this is bad!”

One hour earlier.

Mehen looked up at the sky.

The clear blue sky didn’t register at all.

He’d just received word through his personal communicator that Arellin had awakened, and he desperately wanted to return to the estate—but he couldn’t.

“Sir Zilo, wouldn’t it be better to return to the estate first, assess the situation, and then act?”

“How many days has it been since she disappeared? Is there any guarantee that Olivia is still alive after all that time?”

“There’s… no guarantee. No.”

Mehen tried frantically to contact Valer through his communicator, but as usual, the man vanished the moment something important happened.

You bastard, you said to call you if something happened!

How was he supposed to call if the man never answered?!

Meanwhile, Zilo hadn’t rushed out blindly as Mehen feared.

He was filled with an inexplicable certainty—that if he waited any longer, he would lose Olivia.

No. I will lose her.

A conviction bordering on prophecy guided Zilo’s steps.

Whether this was an ability he’d always possessed or something gained after resurrection, he had no time to consider.

Luka is here, after all—a senior-grade mage.

Zilo sensed a faint distortion in a busy alleyway. He didn’t know it led to the reverse world, but even without knowledge, experience guided him.

He kept moving, searching for the source of that distortion.

“Where exactly are you going? There’s nothing here.”

By the time Mehen and Luka caught up with him, they had entered the dark shadows of the brilliant city—deep into a filthy slum alley.

“Ugh.”

As Mehen grimaced at the stench, Luka suddenly made a blank sound.

“Huh?”

“What is it?”

“S-Sir Zilo… he’s gone.”

“…What?”

Mehen looked ahead too late. The place where Zilo had stood was empty.

A chill ran down his spine.

“Luka, go to the Mage Tower immediately and report this.”

“Y-Yes!”

After sending the bewildered Luka off, Mehen was left with two choices: suppress his curiosity and retreat—or investigate the spot where Zilo vanished.

In the next instant, Mehen’s sharp intuition told him both were wrong.

Pain struck the back of his neck, his vision went dark—and Mehen realized the truth.

This was how the imperial investigators had disappeared as well.

On his way to the Mage Tower, Luka was ambushed by an unidentified group.

They used special abilities—and knew how to weaken his mana.

He barely won, but worried that Mehen might have been attacked as well, Luka turned back—only to find Mehen gone.

There was no one to ask for help. The Sky Tower mages were all dispatched across the world.

“So that’s why you came to me?”

Luka nodded weakly at my question, groaning in pain despite the healing magic.

He said he’d been doused in something—maybe poison—during the fight, and it was causing him agony.

The news Luka brought plunged the Halvern estate into shock.

Zilo and Mehen were missing.

“Then what do we do…?”
“Without Lord Mehen, what can we even—”

Clap!

I clapped my hands sharply.

Panicking wouldn’t solve anything.

As a member of this family’s bloodline, I issued simple orders to the eyes fixed on me.

“Alright, everyone go back to your duties. And send someone to the temple—bring a priest.”

I summoned the family physician to the drawing room. His expression darkened as he examined Luka.

Meanwhile, hunger surged again, and I kept popping desserts into my mouth until I noticed Harun looking unusually serious.

“Harun, what now?”

He frowned and answered.

“You know I have an ability that lets me see the location of allies, right? I can use it on Duke Mehen, so I tried—but…”

At that moment, the twins and Fession—who had slipped away earlier—entered the room.

“Arell? Huh? Who’s that mage?”

“My direct junior.”

“…?”

“Then what were you all talking about earlier?”

As I asked while continuing to eat, Fession frowned, while the twins wore victorious smiles.

“Arellin, look forward to it.”

“…?”

“We’re going to let the whole world know! Everyone! Anyway, we’ll help!”

What were they even talking about?

“Sit down and stop spouting nonsense. I’m serious right now. Mehen might be missing. And why is my dad always gone at times like this? He’s never around when he’s actually needed.”

At the news of Mehen’s disappearance, even the twins stiffened, and Fession looked at me sharply.

“But Arell… you’re seriously eating like a maniac.”

That was when Noel, who had been frozen, spoke in awe.

When I swallowed the last macaron, my hunger finally subsided.

I stood lightly and walked over to the groaning Luka.

“Doctor, do you know what’s wrong?”

“No. It seems to be some kind of magical issue.”

“No. This isn’t magic.”

I could feel it clearly—something I hadn’t been able to see before.

What was tormenting Luka was contamination.

I grabbed his wrist and focused my strength.

“Alright. Let’s put what I learned to use.”

Right now, I was Arellin mk2.

I’d show them the upgraded Arellin.

At that moment, the divine power within me trembled—swelling, growing stronger.
