Heavy Rain Chapter 8
Occasionally, there were pathetic Alphas who engaged in knotting frequently for pleasure rather than for the purpose of pregnancy. He had heard them engage in lewd talk, discussing the pleasure of filling an Omega’s inside to the brim. At the time, he had scoffed, but surprisingly, that description felt somewhat lacking. A mixture of ecstasy—felt for the first time in his life—and confusion turned Lyle’s insides into a muddy mess.
“Ah, it hurts, ahh, ah…!”
Through the crooked blindfold, Haejin’s wide-open eyes were briefly visible. The confusion felt even in that short encounter seemed to represent Lyle’s own heart.
Knotting experienced in an unprepared state is nothing but pain for an Omega. Thus, Haejin instinctively kept struggling. Because of this, Lyle had no choice but to stay still while holding Haejin tightly with both arms.
The fellow’s stomach, pressed against his, gradually grew in volume. That strange sensation was soon proportional to the magnitude of pleasure Lyle felt. Amidst the pleasure that approached as if to sweep him away, it was all Lyle could do to barely hold on so as not to be carried off.
Thus, the long rut was a series of anomalies from the very start.

“…”
Truly unable to even lift a finger, Haejin lay stretched out. His arms were free. By some whim, Lyle had untied them immediately after the rut ended. Familiar noises could be heard from the shower room.
Gleaning from the phone call Lyle was having, it seemed two days had passed. Haejin frowned at the throbbing pain felt on one side of his neck. He simply had no sensation in his lower body. He had never engaged in such contact before, but Lyle had bitten into the nape of Haejin’s neck just once.
His lower half, which usually felt tingling because of the heavy thrusts, had been thoroughly overworked due to the knotting. His thought of needing to return to his room quickly just scattered away.
It felt as if Lyle would come out any second and tell him to get lost. Of course, there was no way he would return to this room again, yet Haejin squirmed his body with needless worry.
Why on earth did he perform a knotting? In this absurd situation, Haejin didn’t even have the energy to get angry. It seemed it would pass as a minor anomaly.
Until the sound of knocking was heard again.
Strangely, it felt as if the person standing outside had knocked directly on Haejin’s heart. Since this had never happened before, Haejin looked toward the door with a flustered face. It was also then that Lyle, whom he thought would leave immediately after showering, suddenly entered the room again.
“Uh…”
Since the blindfold had slipped down, Haejin saw Lyle’s solidly muscled body for the first time in a very long while. And his member, which must have ravaged his insides mercilessly. Before their eyes could even meet, Haejin quickly lowered his head.
Even if a knocking sound was heard, why did Lyle return this way?
Lyle, staring indifferently at the back of Haejin’s head, threw on a robe. Guessing that something urgent must have broken out at the company, he intended to open the door just like that.
Before taking even two steps, Lyle returned to the bed. Then, he roughly lifted the blanket and covered Haejin from the head down.
“…?”
At the bewildered expression seen just before being hidden under the blanket, Lyle swallowed a curse internally. All pheromones should have been relieved by the rut, so what was this useless behavior?
He had to turn his mind elsewhere quickly. He thought he was still being affected because he was stuck in this room full of pheromones. Thinking so, he roughly opened the room door.
To his surprise, standing outside the door was not his secretary but the butler. With a somewhat dark expression.
“What is it.”
“That, Master.”
“Speak.”
Even though his permission was given, the butler looked restless. It was also then that Haejin, who had poked his head out from under the blanket in curiosity, looked at him.
The butler, locking eyes with Haejin, momentarily avoided that gaze. Then, he spoke to Lyle in a heavy tone.
“I am told that Mr. Bright’s parents passed away last night.”
“…What?”
For a moment, the words didn’t register clearly, so Haejin lifted his head blankly. Without realizing it, he stared intently at the butler’s mouth. It seemed he was hearing things because he was so exhausted.
Lyle, who frowned at the unexpected news, suddenly noticed something strange.
“Last night?”
It was now broad daylight. Why was the news of the passing, which came in last night, being delivered only now?
The butler, facing his cold questioning, spat out an excuse hastily. The more he heard, the more it was an answer that even Lyle found appalling.
“To, to be honest, when I came in haste before you started, I had received word that they were in critical condition…”
“And?”
Only then did he remember the butler who had come in a hurry before he tied Haejin’s hands. Thinking about it now, no matter how busy company matters were, there was no way the butler would dare open the door to the room where he was without even hearing an answer. At that time, word had already arrived that Haejin’s parents were critical, and he had rushed over.
But why did he foolishly just turn back?
“Be, because you told me not to disturb you.”
Lyle stared at the butler, dumbfounded by the absurd excuse. No matter how much of a self-centered person he was, there was no reason to tie up an Omega whose parents were dying and spend a rut.
Furthermore, there was a problem even after that. If the news of the passing had been heard, it was normal to report it even in the middle of it. Yet, to burst in as if they had been waiting for his business to end. Lyle fell into serious agony over whether the butler, whom he had trusted with work, had gone mad.
Things have become troublesome.
To explain this difficult situation, Lyle reflexively looked back at Haejin. Haejin, who had been collapsed on the bed as if a screw had come loose, also slowly lifted his head and looked at him.
The moment their eyes met, Lyle inhaled sharply despite himself.
It was the first time since meeting him that Haejin looked him straight in the eyes. A look of strong resentment pierced into him fiercely. Lyle suddenly realized that although they had coupled like that for the past five years, this was the first time he had properly locked eyes with Haejin.
Resentment like heavy raindrops flowed into him incessantly. As that strong emotion pierced through his body, a chilly goosebump rose all over him. Gigantic rainwater filled up to his neck, soaking him through. Haejin’s faint pheromones brushed against the tip of his nose.
The thoughts he had about the butler’s absurd measures shattered into pieces before the gloomy rainfall Haejin was pouring out.
And for some reason, he felt extremely choked.
“…Have the car prepared.”
So, Lyle was only able to barely say one more sentence.

At the funeral, a flamboyant wreath sent from the Vermouth family arrived.
Heavy rain fell incessantly from the sky.
And Lyle did not come.

Having finished his parents’ funeral, Haejin got into the car with an expressionless face. Sitting in the back seat of the car sent by the Vermouth family—a car that did not suit his status—he looked at the sky that was gloomily pouring rain.
It rained heavily throughout the funeral. It is a common sight in the heavy rain of this season, but Haejin decided to think that the sky was crying in his stead.
Strangely, tears did not fall. Haejin had merely been curled up lonelily in the cold funeral hall where not a single mourner visited.
Still, many people had come to his brother’s funeral. The Bright couple were like the sunshine of this gloomy city. Naturally, the footsteps of people who pitied the couple in a coma and the brother who had passed away early were endless. The support received then was enough to pay the first hospital bill.
However, the long period of illness made even such sunshine powerless. A few people contacted him this time as well, but they could not make it to the funeral hall. Haejin understood all those people. They were grateful people who had at least visited the hospital occasionally in the early stages of hospitalization. He honestly thinks any more kindness than this is a luxury.
Watching his parents turn into smoke amidst the heavy rain, Haejin was just endlessly getting hit by the rain. Even then, tears did not fall.
He newly felt that he was very exhausted.
“Ahem. Mr. Bright.”
“…”
