B-Black consumer?!

Ba-dum!

I saw customers who had been shopping glancing at us as they passed by. As if whispering, ‘They say those two are Karens.’!

The employees were also shaking their heads and sighing.

It’s true that I intentionally acted like a Karen to draw my brother out, but!

You don’t have to advertise that I’m a difficult customer, do you?!

“Cha Haeeon! Let me go!”

“What?”

Plop!

I slipped right out of Cha Haeeon’s grasp and came down to the floor.

With my two fists tightly clenched, I’m not just a Karen jelly anymore. I’m a very angry Karen jelly!

Squeak, squeak, squeak.

Approaching right up to the boundary where the red light flickered, I turned my head toward the CCTV cameras.

‘Is Oppa watching through those? Or…’

My eyes quickly scanned the surroundings.

‘Is he right nearby?’

There was only one way to find out.

By breaking through this trap.

Though it looked like I was completely isolated, I knew exactly how to escape this light.

I raised my short arm and started reaching towards the light.

“Hey, you!”

Cha Haeeon hastily reached out his hand towards me. He seemed to be trying to stop me from doing something dangerous.

Nevertheless, without withdrawing my hand reaching for the light, I spoke to Cha Haeeon.

“Don’t worry. You told me yourself, Cha Haeeon.”

“…?!”

“If you don’t believe it, it’s all just an illusion.”

Just like the hamburger steak that started melting the moment I had a second of doubt.

Really, this kind of thing is nothing at all.

The moment my arm touched the light, the searchlight began to melt.

“Right?”

I spoke to Cha Haeeon, who stood there like a man who had only just realized something.

“This mart is also entirely—”

Because to completely break this illusion, I had to shake Cha Haeeon’s belief too.

“—nothing but a hallucination.”

Cha Haeeon’s pupils trembled violently.

At that moment, the display shelves collapsed first.

The walls turned mushy and sank, and the decorations lost their form.

Even the employees and customers with gaping holes for faces began to melt like cream.

“…”

“…”

It felt as though we were standing inside a giant candle.

And in the place where the shopping mall completely disappeared.

Tentacles covered in countless eyeballs surrounded us like a wall.

This was the true form of this shopping mall.

Following the people who entered the shopping mall and causing hallucinations with the eyes on the tentacles.

The darkness surged as if it were breathing.

Bright yellow eyes continuously multiplied.

There wasn’t just one, and there was no sense of direction.

From places that were neither above nor below,

They were simultaneously looking at me.

Cha Haeeon hurriedly covered my eyes.

If he had been even a little late, I would have been unable to handle the skyrocketing contamination level and lost my mind.

Instead of saying thank you, I patted Cha Haeeon’s arm and said.

“Hi, Oppa.”

At that moment, darkness descended before my eyes. The tentacles separated the two of us and wrapped around my body.

I squeezed my eyes shut reflexively, but I could still feel the gaze.

The feeling of it piercing through my skin.

A creepy sensation like something scratching somewhere inside my head.

It felt like contamination was filling up.

Just as I was worrying if Cha Haeeon was okay.

A very low sound rang out.

“Dam-ah.”

The voice flowing out from the old, rusty speaker had slightly mismatched pronunciation.

As if a human mouth hadn’t been used for a long time.

“Dam. Now, it’s time to go back.”

At the same time, I felt the tentacles falling away.

I opened my trembling eyes slightly.

The tentacles, with their eyes closed, didn’t approach me anymore.

I could feel extreme caution.

Even though my brother’s appearance has changed from before, it must be because he still cares for me like before.

“How did you know it was me, Oppa?”

I’ve become this pink jelly—how could my brother recognize me at a single glance?

“I knew because I could see.”

Instantly, bright yellow eyes started opening one by one in the darkness behind him.

Dozens, perhaps hundreds of eyes were looking at me.

A voice was heard from it.

“Because with these eyes, I can see your true essence.”

For a brief moment, a certain scene intruded into my mind.

It was a scene where my body split open, and someone’s gaze seemed to dig deep inside through the crack.

If I were human, my whole body would have been drenched in cold sweat.

My brother was purposely trying to scare me.

From a direction I couldn’t tell if it was above or below, my brother’s voice rang out again.

“Do Dam. Go back.”

I shook my head vigorously.

“No!”

“You don’t know what you are facing.”

“I can’t go and leave Oppa like this……!”

At that moment, a sound of something chewing came from inside my ears.

Crunch.

“…!”

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

The feeling of something bug-like invading inside.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Goosebumps erupted all over my body at the sound coming from inside my ears.

I instinctively blocked my ears and lowered my head.

It’s scary. It’s creepy. Trembling breaths leaked from my mouth.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

Crunch!

“Stop! Stop it!”

Only then did the sound stop.

Pant, pant.

I gasped for breath. Before I knew it, tears were welling up in my eyes.

I rubbed both ears hard. It felt like the creepy sensation still lingered.

“See.”

My brother said as if muttering.

“You can’t even lift your head in front of me.”

I was at a loss for words at my brother’s cold words.

The voice sounded like it was scolding me, or perhaps, like it was bitter.

“…”

Unable to say anything, I lowered my gaze to my two feet.

I felt bad because it seemed I had proved to myself the reason why my brother told me not to come.

If my brother had truly intended to harm me, I would have immediately become a monster or been torn to pieces.

I boasted about being the world’s only purification ability user, but in truth, I was just a level 1 purification jelly.

I was no match at all for my brother, who had become a symbol of fear called a ‘Calamity’.

Even being able to stand face-to-face like this was my brother’s consideration.

“Oppa is right.”

“Right, so stop now…….”

However.

“I’ve missed you all this time, Oppa. A lot. Really, a lot.”

“…”

Not knowing my brother had turned into this state, I had even resented him for leaving on his own and not returning.

“I don’t care what you look like, Oppa. You’re the same way. Even though I look like this, you’re only thinking of me.”

“Dam-ah, I am…… Oppa isn’t an easy problem like you. We can’t be together.”

My brother, as always, tried to persuade me gently.

It was like that when he left for the Yongsan dungeon, too.

Recalling that time, I sniffled.

Whatever the case, I’ve met my brother again. I’m going to do everything I can.
