The Jelly Alien Will Save You! Chapter 69
“Oppa! Now!”
Tentacles emerged from the black gate and tightly bound Jaehee Oppa.
At the exact same time, I shot the purification power that I had formed into a round sphere directly at Jaehee Oppa’s face. The purification power settled comfortably on his head like a helmet.
“…!”
The thick tentacles that had been holding Jaehee Oppa vanished.
Jaehee Oppa staggered for a moment, then raised his blade of blood again to counter Bora Unnie’s attack.
It was right then.
A black shadow began to crawl out from near his head, attempting to push the purification power away.
However, the thin membrane of purification didn’t get pushed back by the black contamination.
Instead, it moved flexibly like a soap bubble, finding and digging into areas where the contamination was relatively thin.
‘Alright…!’
I stacked two more layers of purification power. When the inner purification power could no longer hold out and scattered, the outer purification power took its place.
In this way, the purification power remained in place without breaking. Simultaneously, the contamination was being pushed back and disappearing bit by bit.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Right around the time Jaehee Oppa’s movements seemed to slow down.
“…!”
Pitch-black language began to rise from Jaehee Oppa’s head, where the purification was placed.
[Make it rain.]
[Find the inheritance.]
[Listen to me.]
Letters had appeared above Jaehee Oppa’s head.
Seeing this, Oppa opened all of his yellow eyes and attacked them with his tentacles using his full strength. The Dumbo octopus’s tentacles pierced through the letters.
[Ma●e it r●in.]
Pop! Pop! Pop!
Holes began to appear in the letters Oppa had pierced.
Jaehee Oppa, who had been clashing swords with Bora Unnie and pressing down with strength, blinked his eyes frantically.
However, the contamination Oppa had scattered began to gather again.
It was because Oppa didn’t possess purification power.
I had to purify that.
Because those must be the commands engraved into Jaehee Oppa!
As I shot purification at the letters just as Oppa had done, the black contamination began to fade away.
Each time it did, Jaehee Oppa’s movements became glitchy.
Just one more!
I used my purification power until I turned pale. The black letters had almost entirely vanished.
Just one more!
The moment I eliminated the last letter, one more pitch-black command rose up.
[Listen to my command!]
Don’t make me laugh!
I squeezed out every last drop of my strength to try and purify the words.
However, only the sound of escaping air followed; no more purification power would fire.
“…!”
Of all times, right now!
I reached out my hand desperately.
Please, just once.
My hand turned deathly white. I felt as if I might stop breathing at any second.
However.
I want to save Jaehee Oppa!
Ding!
[Your purification level has increased!]
“Ugh!”
Simultaneously with the level up, a massive amount of power poured out all at once.
In the exploding rainbow light, the pitch-black letters were swept away like ink in the rain.
No more.
Not a single letter could be seen above Oppa’s head anymore.
I screamed at the top of my lungs.
“It worked!”
As the drizzling rain ceased, Jaehee Oppa came to a dead stop.
“Woo Jaehee!”
Just then, Bora Unnie called out to Jaehee Oppa.
“Snap out of it already!”
Then, she swung her tail with great force, striking Jaehee Oppa, who had stopped like a broken robot.
“Urgh!”
Jaehee Oppa flew straight through the air and crashed right into the house.
“Cough!”
Dust billowed up from the collapsed wall.
“….”
Silence hung in the air.
Bora Unnie stood poised, waiting for the next attack.
It was then that Jaehee Oppa walked slowly out of the dust.
Bending his waist deep, covering his bleeding mouth.
As the dust settled and his figure became fully visible, my eyes wavered.
Because.
His head was no longer that of a mountain goat.
There stood only a pale, handsome man with a faint, gloomy aura surrounding him.
Having returned to his original form, Jaehee Oppa asked quietly.
“Bora-ya, did I… do something… wrong?”
Bora Unnie gasped, her mouth falling open.
At that same moment, Jaehee Oppa’s body tilted.
Thud.
Jaehee Oppa collapsed right onto the wooden veranda.
“Jaehee Oppa!”
Bora Unnie screamed and ran toward him. I followed right behind her.
“W-what happened? Has he come to his senses?”
Jaehee Oppa, looking deathly pale, lay unconscious with his eyes closed.
After confirming he was breathing, I spoke in a trembling voice.
“I… I purified him…….”
Tears welled up in Bora Unnie’s eyes.
Soon, the tears began to fall.
“Incredible. You’re incredible, Dam-ah.”
Unnie hugged me tightly.
“You did it.”
“…!”
At the sound of Bora Unnie’s voice repeating that I had done it, my head felt light. It felt as if I were floating on clouds.
In my past life, the only time I received praise was when I didn’t whine about being in pain.
It was a dry, hollow life with nothing that could be called an achievement.
A life where playing pranks, singing, or watching Quasar’s exploits on TV was everything.
I was always the one saying someone else was “incredible,” and the excitement and emotion were always feelings I felt alone.
But I did it?
My hands began to shake.
Quasar, my heroes—I protected them.
I did it!
A thrilling sensation surged through me, all the way to the top of my head.
* * *
Cha Haeeon tilted his head in confusion in front of the house.
It certainly didn’t look like this when he left, did it?
Is this a dream?
The house was such a mess that he found himself wishing it were a dream.
Even the washing machine he loved so much was smashed to pieces.
That wasn’t all. What was with the human-shaped hole in the wall of his room?
Traces of battle were evident throughout the house.
Cha Haeeon cracked his neck and spoke.
“It seems it was extremely fun while I wasn’t here?”
“N-no. Not really.”
The Jelly replied shamelessly.
“We had a really hard time. We were, like, fighting and stuff.”
The Jelly was kneeling in front of Haeeon, who was staring at the house in utter desolation.
“Why fight? We decided to knock him out.”
Beside the Jelly, Kwon Bora hung her head.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…. Jaehee Oppa was being so quiet, so I just…”
At that, Dam patted the back of Bora’s hand.
“Unnie. It’s okay, it’s okay.”
“Why are you the one saying it’s okay?”
“He looked like he was okay.”
“He is not okay at all.”
“Mmm… I guess you’re right.”
Damie rolled her eyes and looked up.
“Since we’re so sorry that we’re even kneeling, won’t you forgive us?”
The Jelly clasped her hands together and blinked her eyes cutely.
“….”
“You’re going to forgive us, right? Unnie, even if he doesn’t look it, Cha Haeeon is actually a nice person.”
Haeeon smiled coldly.
Then, he reached out and pulled both of the Jelly’s ears.
“Even now? Do I still seem nice even now?”
“Heeng!”
“Even like this?!”
“Huuuung!”
The Dumbo octopus slapped him with its tentacles, but Cha Haeeon didn’t stop.
The Jelly, having been thoroughly bullied by him, had to use her decorating power to restore Cha Haeeon’s room before anything else.
