Prologue
“Ahhh….”
A very small groan echoed in the dimly dark room.
Cynthia grabbed the shoulders of the man who kept burying his lips in the back of her neck and trying to kiss her again and again.
The shoulder decorations of the man, dressed in perfect conquest attire, felt cold.
“Wait….”
“…Do you not like it?”
The man who had been showering tiny kisses under Cynthia’s chin lifted his head and looked at her.
The moment she met his darkly shining eyes in the moonlight coming through the large window, Cynthia felt like her heart stopped.
They were eyes deeper than anything she had ever read about or imagined in a book.
“It’s not that I don’t like it….”
“Then?”
The man slightly pulled up the corner of his lips and tilted his head.
Even then, he was slowly moving from her chin up to her ear, brushing his lips along the way.
“Ugh… y-you’re not this kind of character!”
The moment his hot lips finally touched her earlobe, Cynthia couldn’t hold it in anymore and shouted.
At her words, the man finally pulled his lips away from her face and laughed quietly.
“Cynthia says some really strange things sometimes.”
“……”
“As if you know me very well.”
…Know him very well?
Cynthia, lying beneath the man, silently rolled her eyes.
The handsome man who was passionately showering her with intense gazes and kisses was actually one of the male leads from the R-19 reverse harem dark novel she had been reading.
And not just any role—he was Teshion Romanov, the Grand Duke, who played a fairly major role as the female lead’s fiancé.
“What kind of person am I, according to Cynthia?”
A voice full of amusement came down to her.
Cynthia turned her head and met his eyes again.
After hesitating a little, she opened her full lips.
“A-a little restrained… and modest… no, um, abstinent… and someone who isn’t interested in this kind of thing….”
“Me?”
Teshion let out a slightly louder laugh this time.
He lightly gathered some of Cynthia’s hair scattered on the bed and brought it to his lips.
“I-it’s true….”
Cynthia answered hesitantly.
But she wasn’t unsure. It was probably right.
Teshion Romanov, the Grand Duke, was the one and only pure man in the novel who never spent a night with the legendary female lead who built a reverse harem with about 20 men.
By her ear, his low voice fell again.
“Well now.”
While reading the book, Cynthia couldn’t understand why Elizabeth, the female lead, left only her fiancé, the Grand Duke Romanov, alone.
In the early part of the novel, Teshion had lost his sight, so it might have been hard to develop things.
But in the later part, when he regained his sight, he rose as a standout main character, receiving all the readers’ expectations…
‘The explosion after holding it in for so long is always more spectacular!’
But?
Even in the later part of the novel, nothing happened.
‘People even left reviews wondering if Teshion Romanov had… problems in that area….’
“Where are you looking?”
Teshion grabbed the tip of Cynthia’s chin and turned it toward him.
Snapped out of her thoughts by his action, Cynthia slowly looked over his face again.
Meeting her eyes with a faint smile, Teshion looked relaxed—like a lion in front of its prey.
“Restrained and modest. And not interested in things like this….”
Teshion muttered softly.
Hearing her own words repeated back to her, Cynthia’s face turned red.
Teshion raised his hand and played with the ribbon on her chest, his violet eyes gleaming.
“Would you like to check if that’s really true?”
****
Cynthia stood there blankly.
‘Was what I just saw really real?’
A red liquid slowly flowed out from beneath the carriage, which had collapsed so badly its shape was unrecognizable.
It soaked the dirty ground and gradually spread, reaching right in front of her feet.
Looking down blankly, Cynthia had no trouble recognizing what it was.
Could that really be the amount that comes from one person’s body?
The moment she understood that question, all the muffled noise rushed into her ears at once.
“Hey, miss! Are you okay?”
“Oh my…! I almost got hit by that carriage those crazy horses were pulling!”
At that moment, the strength left her legs that had been holding her up.
As Cynthia’s frail body swayed, a large woman standing right next to her quickly grabbed her arm.
“Miss! You must be really shocked—are you okay?”
Her arm, held by the woman, trembled uncontrollably, and her head felt very dizzy.
“Anyway, we should report this quickly….”
“Shh, don’t you see that carriage? It has the Bailey Duke family crest! Someone will take care of it. Let’s leave before we get into something worse.”
“But we should save the person….”
“It’s more troublesome if we get involved!”
The people around them began to move away one by one from the horribly wrecked carriage. The best choice was to get away from the scene as quickly as possible and avoid getting involved with that infamous family.
“…Sa… ve….”
“Sorry? What did you say?”
At that moment, Cynthia, her eyes unfocused, spoke in a very small voice.
The woman leaned her ear closer to the young lady who was leaning on her.
Cynthia raised her thin arm, pointed somewhere, and spoke again.
“Someone… p-please help… the person lying over there….”
“Shh. Someone will take care of it. Let’s leave before the guards arrive.”
With strong force, the woman pulled Cynthia away from the scene. Dragged along helplessly, Cynthia bit her trembling lower lip tightly.
“……”
Right. Up until now, it had been bearable.
Being suddenly transported into an R-19 dark novel, having a role that was just an extra, and not being able to do anything here on her own.
‘At least back then, there was still something like hope….’
The woman who had been leading Cynthia sat her down on a chair in front of a shop.
After looking over Cynthia’s pale face, she seemed to decide it was fine to leave her and soon turned away and disappeared.
“Damn it… I’m screwed….”
Left alone, Cynthia muttered.
She had just witnessed the female lead of the original novel suddenly die right in front of her eyes.
****
Cynthia realized she had been transported into a novel about a year ago.
And not just any novel, but an R-19 reverse harem dark story where the female lead shamelessly engaged in all kinds of embarrassing acts with multiple men.
“This is insane….”
If you asked how she knew, it was because she had directly encountered Elizabeth Bailey, the female lead of the novel.
At the time, Cynthia had been awkwardly adjusting to the life of this unknown extra.
At first, she thought she had simply fallen into some strange, unfamiliar world. Or maybe she had died without realizing it and been reincarnated as someone new.
But then…
“Lady Elizabeth, please don’t go too far. The capital is a dangerous place!”
“Okay!”
Elizabeth?
Hearing a name that sounded very familiar, Cynthia, who had been walking down the street, unconsciously turned her head.
Beautiful wavy blonde hair, light green eyes like emerald jewels, and a gentle, kind-looking impression…!
“Huh? I know that person.”
Cynthia muttered as she looked at the cute woman called Elizabeth.
Wow, she looks exactly like the description in the novel. Huh…? W-wait, a novel?
That’s right. The woman smiling brightly with a pin bearing the Bailey Duke family crest in her hair looked exactly like the female lead from a notoriously titled R-19 novel: When I Devour You Like a Single Rose, I’m So Happy!
After pausing for a moment, Cynthia grabbed the wrist of a large merchant passing by.
“E-excuse me… is there… a noble family called Bailey in the capital?”
“Whoa! That’s the richest ducal family around here…! How could you not know that?”
The merchant, startled by having his wrist suddenly grabbed, stroked his messy beard and tilted his head.
Shock spread across Cynthia’s face.
“Th-then… is there a noble family called Romanov…?”
“Ah, that’s the Grand Duke’s family, who has the Emperor’s bloodline….”
This is crazy.
Cynthia’s face turned pale as if she might faint at any moment. Cold sweat ran down her back.
“Th-the Bailey family and the Romanov family… they’re not related… right…?”
“Hm… there are rumors that the Bailey family’s daughter and Grand Duke Teshion Romanov will soon get engaged….”
“That’s a lie!!”
“Why would I lie about something like that…?”
The merchant looked Cynthia up and down suspiciously, shook off her hand, and went on his way.
Left alone again, Cynthia covered her mouth with both hands. If she didn’t, it felt like all kinds of curses not used in this world would spill out.
‘This is the novel I was reading? I think I’m seriously screwed….’
After a moment, she slowly lowered her hands from her mouth.
“So that woman… is really the one who builds a legendary reverse harem with about 20 men, leaving out only her official fiancé, the Grand Duke Romanov, doing XXXXXX with XXXXXX and XXXXXXX when the sun rises, and spending the whole night doing XXXXXXX at XXXXXXX when the sun sets…?”
At that moment, an old gentleman passing by stopped in shock at the shocking words coming from the young woman’s mouth.
“W-what did you just say? Those words… did they really come from a young lady like you?”
Ah, my mistake.
I meant to say that in my head.
