Divorce in Bed Chapter 27
The night streets of Zurich were quiet and cool. Inside the limousine heading from the airport to the hotel, Seong Yeohwi couldn’t take his eyes off the unfamiliar scenery passing by the car window.
The Limmat River flowed between antique buildings. Streetlight reflections shattered across its surface. It had a calm, exotic atmosphere, different from the flashy neon signs of Seoul.
“It’s nice…”
Yeohwi murmured to himself unconsciously.
Dowon watched Yeohwi out of the corner of his eye.
His excited profile looked exactly like a college student on a trip. It was hard to believe that a meticulous plan to move hundreds of billions of won was contained inside that head.
“Close the window. You’ll catch a cold.”
Dowon indifferently pressed a button to roll up the window.
“Ah, I want to see a little more.”
Yeohwi smacked his lips as if disappointed, but Dowon was firm.
“Regulate your condition if you want to work tomorrow.”
Upon arriving at the hotel lobby, staff members, including the manager, were lined up. Their attitude in welcoming the KD Group VIP was extremely hospitable.
“Welcome, Director. And…”
The manager smiled brightly at Yeohwi and bowed his head.
“Director Dowon’s spouse, our sincerest congratulations on your marriage. It is an honor to host you both for your honeymoon at our hotel.”
“Yes… thank you.”
Yeohwi gripped Dowon’s arm tightly, looking embarrassed.
Dowon habitually wrapped his arm around Yeohwi’s waist and put on a perfect business smile.
“Thank you for your attentiveness. We are tired, so please guide us to our room immediately.”
Guided by the staff, they entered the Royal Suite on the top floor of the hotel.
As soon as the door opened, they saw a view through floor-to-ceiling glass windows that took in the Alps and the lake at a glance. However, there was something else that caught the eye even more.
Atop the massive king-sized bed.
Red rose petals were scattered profusely in the shape of a heart, and in the very center, two towels folded into the shape of swans were touching beaks in a kiss. On the nightstand, champagne, chocolates, and even a subtle aroma candle were lit.
“…”
Dowon’s brow furrowed mercilessly. To anyone’s eyes, it was a perfect and burdensome setting for a passionate first night.
“Wow, the kind of thing you only see in movies.”
Yeohwi giggled, covering his mouth with his hand. He then took out his phone and took a photo of the bed.
Dowon threw his jacket onto the sofa and loosened his tie with irritable movements.
“You use that.”
“Pardon?”
“I’m sleeping on the sofa.”
Dowon motioned with his chin toward the long leather sofa in the living area. At Dowon’s declaration, Yeohwi’s expression hardened.
“I don’t want to.”
“What?”
“Mister Dowon, you use the bed. I’ll sleep on the sofa.”
“Me, use that?”
His gaze flicked toward the bed. More precisely, toward the only bed in the room. When his eyes met the rose petals, he gave a short, hollow laugh.
“I told you to use it.”
“No. Mister Dowon needs to sleep more comfortably than me. Honestly, you’re tired.”
Yeohwi shook his head. His attitude was quite firm.
“Or, let’s sleep together.”
“…Seong Yeohwi.”
“I said I would sleep on the sofa. If Mister Dowon likes the sofa too, well then, the two of us will just have to squeeze onto this narrow thing together.”
Yeohwi tapped the plush gray sofa cushion with his palm. Dowon’s voice dropped low.
“Stop talking nonsense.”
Yeohwi purposefully pretended not to hear and sprawled out on the sofa. Then, he subtly muttered to himself in a fairly loud voice.
“Man, this sofa is really narrow. It’s full even with just one person lying down. The bed is huge, though. Since it’s a king-size, there’d be room left even with three people.”
“…”
“Decide quickly. Whether we’re sleeping together uncomfortably on the sofa, or on the bed.”
“…I told you. I have no intention of playing house with you.”
“No, we’re just sleeping, so what does it matter?”
Yeohwi swept back his hair as if frustrated.
“If the roses and decorations make you uncomfortable, I’ll clear them all out for you. Just lie down, Dowon. I don’t have any other intentions; I just want you to get a good night’s rest for at least today.”
“Don’t cross the line. I’ll take care of my own physical management.”
“You’re really too much. Telling me to close the window because I’ll catch a cold, nagging me about everything. Am I not even allowed to worry? Always staying up late working overtime because there’s work left to process, overworking yourself. Actually, the one who should be collapsing isn’t me, it’s you, Dowon. Isn’t that right?”
“…”
When Dowon remained silent, Yeohwi pouted his lips and began unbuttoning his coat one by one.
“Ah! I don’t care. Anyway, I’m sleeping on the sofa, so it’s decided.”
He then threw his jacket and socks onto the sofa haphazardly, as if marking his territory by shedding his skin.
Dowon let out a long sigh.
It was a battle he couldn’t win. No, perhaps it was a battle he didn’t need to win in the first place.
“…Do as you wish.”
Dowon declared his surrender.
“Instead.”
He raised his index finger in warning.
“If even a fingertip crosses over onto the bed, I’ll kick you off immediately.”
“Yes. Don’t worry.”
Yeohwi grinned. As soon as he grasped the small victory, he bounced up from the sofa as if satisfied.
“Then I’ll go wash up first!”
Yeohwi grabbed his pajamas and toiletries from his suitcase and ran into the bathroom as if fleeing.
Click. As soon as he locked the bathroom door, Yeohwi leaned against the sink, his legs buckling. Panting rapidly to catch his breath, he looked up.
His face reflected in the mirror was flushed as if it might explode.
“Woooaaaah…”
Yeohwi let out a silent scream, covering his mouth.
“Insane, insane… You’re crazy, Seong Yeohwi…”
Unable to believe it, he stared in the mirror and slapped his own cheeks repeatedly.
It hurt. It wasn’t a dream.
Tonight, when he went out that door, he would be waiting, and they had to sleep in the same room. At a distance where he could see him just by turning his head, listening to the sound of his breathing.
“What do I do. This is trouble…”
Yeohwi hurriedly turned on the shower. Hot water poured down. He quickly threw off his clothes and stepped under the stream.
‘Smell—I don’t smell, do I?’
Did I sweat on the plane? Did I break out in a cold sweat earlier because I was nervous?
Yeohwi squeezed a generous amount of body wash onto his shower ball. He made a thick lather and meticulously scrubbed his neck, behind his ears, armpits, and even between his toes.
“No, no. I know nothing is going to happen. Because Mister Dowon told me not to cross over.”
Yeohwi muttered to himself like a madman, scrubbing his collarbones vigorously.
“I know, but still, you never know. I might lose my mind and crawl in at dawn… I shouldn’t do that, but ah, damn it.”
Yeohwi sniffed his hair to check if the shampoo smelled good and washed his entire body with body wash once more. Just in case there was any smell of sweat. In case it caused unpleasantness.
“Anyway, it’s better to be clean. Yeah, hygiene is manners.”
Yeohwi finished washing his face meticulously with a grim expression. The young man with wet hair reflected in the mirror looked even clearer from the moisture and, at the same time, strangely excited.
And…
“Hmm…”
He hesitated for a moment as he was about to leave after showering. Standing at the door, he took a deep breath and checked his lower body with contemplating eyes.
The white towel wrapped around his waist looked slightly swollen.
‘W-wait a minute. This is dangerous.’
He quickly turned back and headed toward the shower stall again. Even though he had already washed his entire body twice, he turned on the hot water again and fell into meditation. Even after singing the national anthem up to the 4th verse and reciting the second half of the Corporate Valuation Theory from memory, it was still hot between his legs.
If he went out too late, Dowon would think it was strange. It was already late. There was no solution.
‘Ugh. This is trouble, seriously.’
A shameful act performed with a single door between them. Added to the sense of depravity from doing something he shouldn’t do, his lower body swelled even thicker than usual. Just looking at the heavy weight and large volume, one could tell how excited he was.
Yeohwi let the hot water hit his face and lowered his hand. Without even touching it, he wrapped his hand around the stiffly erect pillar and slowly stroked it. It would be better to finish quickly and leave, but he felt like he might let out a groan if it became even slightly intense.
‘Urgh. Ah.’
The shape of the bulging veins was transmitted through his palm. It was the first time he had been this excited. Yeohwi slowly tilted his wrist, leaning his back against the shower booth wall and arching his waist. His flesh-toned back rubbed against the damp wall, making a friction sound. And from below him, the sound of rubbing flesh began to be heard with a splashing squelch.
Inevitably, his hand movements became faster and faster.
Yeohwi bit his lower lip hard and tried to slow down. While suppressing the sound, he thought of Dowon. Naturally, his hand came to mind. The hand he had accidentally grabbed on the plane. The sensation of it then was still vivid.
