“Ugh, I’ve got my hands full with my son today.”

James, who had been busy arguing against Sophina, shrugged and slipped out the other side.

Then he turned his attention to his son. It was a border area, so there was a chance of sudden danger.

In any case, the beasts gathered in groups and explored the forest.

The lions went deeper into the forest.

Sophina, who had been carried like a sloth by Ricardo, was now walking on her own two legs.

A place with a decent uphill climb.

Streams of crystal clear water flowing through the forest leaves rustling in the breeze.

It was so peaceful and beautiful.

Some beasts turned to animal form and ran barefoot through the forest.

Amid the energetic march, Sophina moved forward thoughtlessly.

As she walked in silence.

Pop—

Something cold landed on the bridge of Sophina’s nose. She reflexively wiped her face with her hand and felt a cold wetness.

“Rain?”

Sophina lifted her head and looked up at the sky.

Black clouds threatened to engulf the entire forest.

As soon as the ominous weather was confirmed, a pole-like downpour of rain came down.

Soon, Sophina’s light-blue hair was soaked through, clumped in several strands.

She squinted at Ricardo and said, “It’s raining so hard.”

“I think we should head out of the forest.”

Ricardo assented. As they exchanged glances, the other lions were busy conferring.

The raging downpour had swollen the valley and threatened to create a torrent. The resulting mudslides would block the path.

In short, it was the worst possible weather to be in the forest.

The decision was made to leave the forest.

Sophina cautiously retraced her steps. It had been a steep climb, but it was a steady descent.

The ground crunched beneath her feet, softened by the rain. Her hands flailed in the air as the ground became even more slippery.

Ricardo grabbed Sophina’s wobbly arm and helped her steady herself.

“Be careful.”

“Ugh, thanks.”

Thankfully, she managed to avoid falling headfirst.

‘At this rate, it might be faster to just transform into an animal and fly away.’

But no. The rain makes it harder.

While she was momentarily distracted, Ricardo, noticing this, tightened his grip on her. Like he wasn’t going to let go.

“It would be faster if you just took my hand and walked down.”

He had a point, so Sophina complied.

Now there was a damp warmth on top of her drenched skin. It was a perfect situation to be clammy, but strangely enough, it didn’t feel bad.

A moment later, I calmly made my way down the forest.

A lion’s roar pierced my ears.

“Grr! Roar!!”

What was that?

Sophina whirled around at the urgency of the cry. The lion’s voice, once loud and boisterous, gradually faded to a whisper.

The surrounding lions covered their mouths with their hands, unable to speak.

“Oh, how come…”

“This… it’s raining badly.”

The baby lion lost his footing and fell into a rushing stream.

Luckily, he knows how to swim, so he’s floating, but it looks like he’s about to be swept downstream.

“The light blue ball?”

The lion cub was struggling to catch the ball. He must have dropped it while playing with it.

“Son!”

Just then, James, the elder lion, jumped into the swirling water without hesitation.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work. Instead, the cub and James were caught in the rapids together.

The lions quickly animalized. They clawed at a large tree and tried to rescue them.

The other lions, who hadn’t animalized, tried to use their abilities to help.

But the situation only worsened, and the pitiful sobs increased.

In the overwhelming emotions, Sophina rolled her eyes and pondered.

‘I wonder if I can use my powers to save them.’

A thought suddenly occurred to me.

I had been hiding my telekinetic ability, but even in this situation, I couldn’t waste it. I must do something to help.

‘Can I do it?’

I had never encountered an animal that large before.

But I didn’t think about it long. I couldn’t watch someone die in front of me.

Whether it works or not, I just had to try.

I’ve been practicing my abilities, and I’ve read tons of paperwork at the Eagle Mansion.

Sophina squinted and focused her attention on her fingertips.

‘I think I can do it!’

The formless telekinesis shifted to the sinking lions.

The two father and son, clutching each other tightly, refusing to let go of each other in the turbulent waters, floated up into the air.

James, who had managed to keep his wits about him, looked around with wide eyes.

Before they knew it, they were safely on the ground. The lion cub drank plenty of water, which made him even more bloated.

“Ack, gasp.”

James was no exception to the shivering.

The two, father and son, huddled together in a tight embrace.

The men exchanged astonished looks.

“How did this happen?”

“Well, I was afraid we were going to get stuck… but it’s not a miracle, so thank heavens.”

The relieved chatter of the lions soon died down.

Sophina, who had used her telekinesis to float down the ravine, retrieved the baby lion’s belongings.

“Kid, this is yours, right?”

“…Hmm?”

The drenched cub poked his head out of the water and blinked.

Then he hauled his mangled sky-blue ball with his front paws and hugged it close to him.

“Ung…!”

The lion cub staggered over and plopped down at Sophina’s feet to thank her.

All eyes were on Sophina.
