Wedding Ending Chapter 29

The study door opened, and Kang Seunghyun stepped inside. Secretary Song, who was standing in front of the desk, turned his head.
“Managing Director Kang.”
“Speak. Why are you hesitating like this?”
“I have served by your side ever since Former Managing Director assumed office at the age of twenty-five.”
“So?”
Kang Seunghyun walked past the corner of the desk and sat in the chair. He looked forward with an annoyed expression. At the same time, he glanced toward the open door as if looking for Min Jaeyoon.
“Eden Resort was what Managing Director Kang desired the most. Just as I was there for the beginning, I want to watch until the very end by Managing Director’s side.”
“Don’t you know I lost my memory? I’m not interested in that kind of stuff anymore.”
Kang Seunghyun’s face turned impassive as if he was bored. He sat there with eyes that showed no sign of excitement whatsoever. He merely stared at the door as if waiting for something. It really seemed like he had forgotten everything.
Secretary Song curled his fingertips and murmured.
“Vice President Min Jaeyoon will surely be pleased as well.”
When Min Jaeyoon’s name was brought up out of the blue, Kang Seunghyun, who had been indifferent, met his eyes. Secretary Song recalled the words Kang Seunghyun had said in the past, which he had kept deep in his heart.
“Didn’t you ask me several times? You said, ‘Will Jaeyoon like it? I haven’t done anything for him all this time, so I want to give him something he’d be happy about.'”
“Me?”
“Yes.”
A strange glint appeared in Kang Seunghyun’s eyes. He added to his words.
“You’re saying I talked to Song about Jaeyoon?”
“Yes.”
“Come to think of it, I don’t know anything about what Jaeyoon likes. I’ve roughly figured out where touching him smells good, though.”
Kang Seunghyun muttered to himself as he stroked his chin. Secretary Song, whose entire body had been tense, didn’t miss the chance and stepped closer. The Kang Seunghyun of the past had recognized his competence and kept him by his side. Not wanting to disappoint him, Secretary Song had worked even harder.
“Vice President Min likes swimming! After he finishes exercising, he eats a rich hot chocolate paired with chocolate cake!”
“Swimming, huh… Is that why his inside was so soft?”
“Pardon?”
Secretary Song almost lost his mind for a moment, but he diligently clasped his hands and pulled himself together.
“So you know about Jaeyoon, and you know about me too, huh.”
Suddenly, Kang Seunghyun bent his upper body forward. He opened a drawer and pulled out a sheet of paper. Soon, he folded it in half, and then folded it in half again. He held out the paper, folded to a size that would fit into an envelope, toward Secretary Song.
“Take it.”
“What… What is this?”
Secretary Song’s pupils moved frantically as he extended both hands. Feeling an ominous sensation, he wondered if he was being fired like this.
“Fish.”
“Huh?”
“The cat in my house is aiming for this. Keep it well and eat it up when I tell you to.”
Secretary Song looked down with a bewildered face. He didn’t dare to unfold it. However, no matter how he looked at it, it was just an ordinary piece of paper… He didn’t know what to say to Managing Director Kang Seunghyun, who was insisting it was fish. Even so, he opened his mouth as if plucking up the courage.
“Then… Then may I serve you again? Can I be by Managing Director’s side starting tomorrow?”
Secretary Song appealed with desperate eyes.
The corners of Kang Seunghyun’s lips curved gracefully.
“No, starting today. Go buy some cake. The kind Jaeyoon likes.”
Secretary Song bowed his waist, straightened up, and turned around. The tips of his fingers holding the paper trembled fine.
“…Are you leaving already, Secretary Song? Did you two have a good talk?”
Min Jaeyoon, who came out of the kitchen, approached his side. Secretary Song slowly turned his head and looked down at him.
—Will Jaeyoon like it a lot? I want to see his happy face, but I don’t know if he’ll like it.
The image of Kang Seunghyun looking at the building model with an indifferent face in the past flickered. It was a time when Managing Director Kang Seunghyun, who was confident in everything, looked like a young boy. A look of genuine worry was reflected in his eyes.
“Secretary Song?”
Min Jaeyoon tilted his head.
Secretary Song replied with a rather serious face.
“He will surely be pleased.”
Min Jaeyoon looked at Kang Seunghyun, who was walking out behind him, as if he didn’t understand what was going on.
“I will be back shortly.”
Kang Seunghyun waved his hand as if telling him to hurry up and go. Min Jaeyoon stared back and forth at the two of them. Secretary Song put the paper he was holding into his inner pocket. He stepped out the front door with a solemn look in his eyes. And a moment later, he came in holding a large chocolate cake box and placed it on the table.
When Min Jaeyoon came out holding plates and forks, Secretary Song was nowhere to be seen.
“Where did Secretary Song go?”
Kang Seunghyun leaned back on the sofa, acting arrogantly.
“He left.”
“What?”
Min Jaeyoon put down the plate and sat down. Did their conversation not go well? Min Jaeyoon turned his knees slightly to persuade Kang Seunghyun. As if he knew what he was going to say, Kang Seunghyun beat him to it.
“I told him to get a good rest today and come tomorrow. I’m tired too… because I had to soothe someone who cried their eyes out all night long.”
Min Jaeyoon’s eyebrows rose slightly.
“Who cried….”
And who soothed whom? The one who harassed me was you…!
Min Jaeyoon swallowed the words that surged up to his throat. And as if to replace words, he abruptly stood up.
“Where are you going, this is the chocolate cake you like? Aren’t you going to eat it?”
“I’m going to get something to drink!”
Looking at Min Jaeyoon’s back as he snapped without even turning around, Kang Seunghyun laughed softly out loud.
“You really have a loud voice.”
However, Kang Seunghyun’s laughter didn’t last long. After taking a bite of the cube-shaped cake, Kang Seunghyun’s forehead crumpled. From the decoration to the inside, it was dense chocolate. He threw his fork forward. Clink.
“It’s a taste that brings on a headache.”
Kang Seunghyun lifted his coffee cup to soothe his ruined appetite.
“Is that so? I like it because it’s sweet….”
Min Jaeyoon was eating a large piece of cake placed on his plate. Next to him was also rich hot chocolate.
These two foods showed their true value after swimming. Coming out of the cold water and eating something sweet and warm together made the tough times forgotten as well. Swimming was a sport that required a decent amount of physical stamina.
Min Jaeyoon lifted his cup, blew on it, and swallowed a sip. Warm. It felt as if all the tired sensations spread throughout his exhausted body were diluted. As steam billowed from the cup, a sweet smell quickly spread throughout the living room.
“I heard you swim too?”
“Yeah. Did you hear it from Secretary Song? Even though I look like this, my freestyle, backstroke….”
“Let me have sex in the water next time.”
Min Jaeyoon, who was continuing his sentence, crunched his fork between his teeth. He looked perfectly neat and handsome, but whenever he opened his mouth, it was nothing but vulgar words.
“I’ll pick out the swimsuit for you. No, wait, there’s no need to wear one, right? I’m going to strip you anyway….”
Suddenly, Kang Seunghyun made a serious expression with his handsome face.
“Did I strip and eat you up in the past? Or did I eat you raw?”
“Kang Seunghyun… You really….”
“Why, are you gonna stab me with the fork?”
“Ha….”
Min Jaeyoon covered his forehead with a pale face. Setting down the fork, he coaxed him gently as if reasoning with him.
“Please, you shouldn’t do that when you go to the New Year’s party. Got it?”
“Depends on how you act.”
As Min Jaeyoon stood up from his seat, his gaze followed his movement.
“Stand like this.”
Min Jaeyoon put one hand in his pocket and maintained his gaze at a 45-degree angle. The coffee cup Kang Seunghyun was holding shook finely.
“Don’t laugh, look carefully! I’m telling you, you used to stand like this all the time. Glaring with strength in your eyes….”
He put down the coffee cup and began to laugh.
Min Jaeyoon constantly pulled out the image of Kang Seunghyun stored in his memory to remind him.
“If you just stand like this, no one will easily approach you. It was like that when we were in school, too.”
Min Jaeyoon judged that it would be better to prevent people from approaching in the first place. Kang Seunghyun’s mouth was unpredictable. So it seemed better to make it so that people with weak minds and bodies couldn’t come near him at all. Although he didn’t know what he was like at the company, there was no one who approached Kang Seunghyun easily during their school days. He possessed an aura that made it difficult for people to approach him in many ways, not just for Min Jaeyoon.
“You really were by my side for a long time….”
Kang Seunghyun’s eyes subtly swept over Min Jaeyoon’s entire body.
“I told you so. I know pretty much everything.”
