Wedding Ending Chapter 34
The two passed through the inner door. Min Jaeyoon reached out to open the front door. Kang Seunghyun grabbed that arm and pulled him back.
“What, is there something else you’re curious about?”
A long shadow fell over Min Jaeyoon’s face. As Kang Seunghyun’s neat features came closer, their lips overlapped.
Min Jaeyoon felt the tongue wrapping around his sucked lower lip was cold. However, it seemed he wasn’t the only one who felt that way.
“Your lips are hot. So it feels good when I suck them.”
Kang Seunghyun looked at Min Jaeyoon’s lips wet with saliva, then turned his body around.
“Your inside is even more so.”
He pulled open the front door. Min Jaeyoon’s face as he followed behind him was red as if heat had flushed up. However, he soon composed his shaken expression.
💍
Inside the fast-moving car,
A sense of tension dwelled in Min Jaeyoon’s eyes reflected in the window glass. Ordinarily, he would have lightly considered it a matter of just showing his face without much thought, but the situation was different now. He couldn’t help but worry about Kang Seunghyun beside him.
Rustle. Kang Seunghyun opened the red envelope and looked down at the invitation distributed by Yeonjin Group. Min Jaeyoon stared blankly at that serious side profile before turning his gaze out the window.
Even without his memories, perhaps because it was ingrained in his body, Kang Seunghyun exuded an intense aura that made it hard to approach him easily. As long as he didn’t open his mouth, he wasn’t much different from the Kang Seunghyun of the past. His heart beat fast. We won’t get caught. Sweat gathered in his tightly clenched palms.
As evening approached, the front of Yeonjin Hotel became a brightly lit city that never sleeps. After the car slowed down and stopped, people dressed up to the nines got out. They walked toward the hotel brightly lit with luxurious lights, as if having forgotten the night.
“Welcome, Representative Kang.”
Getting out of the car, Kang Jion greeted people with a smile. After the same kind of car stopped behind, a man who ran up nimbly opened the car door for them.
“Isn’t that person Secretary Song?”
At someone’s shout, Kang Jion’s legs, which were about to take a step, came to a dead halt. As he turned his head, Kang Seunghyun got out of the car. Several people who were beside Kang Jion approached him in perfect order.
Secretary Song, who hurriedly got out of the passenger seat, moved his legs to the opposite side. Dressed in an elegant suit, Min Jaeyoon unclasped his clenched hand and got out. When he came outside, a crowd of people had already gathered around Kang Seunghyun in a flash.
“Meeting you like this on the first day of the New Year fills me with special emotion.”
“We thought some kind of disaster had occurred….”
“No, what a terrible thing to say!”
Kang Seunghyun languidly swept his eyes over the people who swarmed like a flock of bees. Just by doing that, people spared their words, shone their eyes, and waited for his words. Then Kang Seunghyun opened his mouth.
He adeptly took the lead in the conversation. Even though they were clearly people he didn’t remember, there was no hesitation. Rather, he was overwhelming people starting from his gaze. Min Jaeyoon felt a huge sense of relief. He also heard the lines he had instilled in him several times.
“…Is that so! What a relief.”
“A relief indeed.”
Having finished speaking, Kang Seunghyun glanced behind. Min Jaeyoon hurriedly rounded the car and stepped up to his side.
Kang Seunghyun opened his palm. Although he didn’t say anything, Min Jaeyoon stretched forward his finger wearing the ring. The palms of the two touched as if bumping against each other.
The party was starting now.
The New Year’s party, held only once a year right on January 1st.
It was a super-large event that publicly solidified Yeonjin Group’s position while raising its prestige by revealing ‘Yeonjin Hotel’ to the whole world.
A vast hall unfolded before Min Jaeyoon as he stepped out of the elevator. It couldn’t even be compared to the charity concert. That place had a moderate beauty coming from calmness while meaningfully concluding the year. However, the New Year’s party harbored plans and hope for a newly unfolding future.
High-end audiovisual equipment was installed on the massive stage. Below, cameras were placed. On the round tables filling the hall, real flowers and expensive ornaments predominated. Waitresses walked around carrying different champagnes, wines, and whiskies. Numerous people moved to and fro on the red carpet, conversing with a glass in one hand.
This was a gathering attended by a large number of influential people from all over the world, including not only investors and venture entrepreneurs, but also actors, models, producers, and people selected to form important cooperative relationships. Yeonjin Group planned and prepared this event from a year ago and sent out invitations sequentially.
The gazes of those conversing in the upper-floor banquet hall focused on one spot. People swarmed around Kang Jion, who was wearing a white suit.
“Representative Kang. We count on you again this year.”
“If you need anything, please just call us anytime.”
“As always, we will only trust Representative Kang.”
Soon after, there were also people who moved over to the side of Managing Director Kang Seunghyun, who made an appearance.
“Managing Director Kang, is your health alright?”
“I was very worried after seeing the articles.”
“It seems I have caused you all unnecessary concern.”
Kang Seunghyun answered half-heartedly with an expressionless face. It was one of the answers Secretary Song had prepared in advance. Min Jaeyoon tried to slip his hand out gently. Walking around holding hands like a child in front of people was also embarrassing. However, the corners of Min Jaeyoon’s eyes twitched. The fingers held by Kang Seunghyun felt as if they were going to be crushed.
“Making such a loud fuss over something that isn’t even a big deal.”
As much as force was applied to Kang Seunghyun’s fingertips, the conversation also flowed strangely. Min Jaeyoon was startled and examined the people’s faces. Though they seemed embarrassed for a moment, they appeared to think there was a problem with their own remarks. They smiled broadly.
“Seeing you like this without any trouble, it’s truly wonderful.”
In the end, Min Jaeyoon chose not to pull his hand away. Then Kang Seunghyun also relaxed the force in his fingers.
“By the way, is the child growing well?”
A man of considerable age subtly sounded him out like a slick snake, holding a smile at the corners of his mouth. Kang Seunghyun’s gaze flicked toward Min Jaeyoon. It was a look as if saying, ‘Didn’t you say there’s no child?’ Then, as if recalling the incident where Min Jaeyoon shouted after seeing the articles, he turned his head.
“We will deliver good news soon.”
“Oho~ If you say good news, as expected….”
A deep sense of excitement dwelled in the eyes of the stirring crowd.
Min Jaeyoon’s lips parted and then clamped tight. He had asked his father, President Min, to correct the false report, but once a story spread, it couldn’t be contained. People originally believed what they wanted to believe and only listened to what they wanted to hear.
Min Jaeyoon tried to grab Kang Seunghyun’s arm, then held it back tightly. They couldn’t fight here. They shouldn’t bicker either. No less than Kang Jion, the sight of Kang Seunghyun and Min Jaeyoon was caught on cameras and displayed on screens installed everywhere.
“Vice President Min, is your father doing well? Could you arrange a time for us to meet sometime?”
“If it’s about that, I think you should speak directly to my father.”
It wasn’t a polite remark; Min Jaeyoon really didn’t go to the company often. The title ‘Vice President’ was literally a mere sham. Secretary Song approached his side and whispered something into Kang Seunghyun’s ear.
“Then, please carry on your conversations.”
Kang Seunghyun murmured toward the people. The look in his eyes was cool. They had faces that wanted to add more words, but unable to come any closer, they stepped back.
“You should go. How many people must there be to greet besides us?”
Min Jaeyoon moved his steps. Watching the two walk away, they whispered among themselves.
“By the way, doesn’t Managing Director Kang seem to have changed a bit?”
“Where?”
“The look in his eyes is a bit… how should I say, different from before.”
“It’s been a while since he came out, so you must be mistaken.”
Min Jaeyoon’s two legs advanced toward one place. It was quite different from the way he was dragged along just a moment ago. A smile also spread across his face.
“Representative Kang.”
Min Jaeyoon extended his free right hand. Kang Jion, who was exchanging greetings with people, held his hand with a smile. Turning his head, he looked at Kang Seunghyun. The gazes of the two entangled in midair.
Kang Jion said:
“Good job. Thanks for taking the trouble to come.”
Unlike his eyes, the direction at the end of his words was aimed toward Min Jaeyoon. As if out of habit of encouraging people, Kang Jion patted Min Jaeyoon on the shoulder. In that split second, the look in Kang Seunghyun’s eyes turned terrifying. He wrapped around Min Jaeyoon’s shoulder and pulled him back. Min Jaeyoon’s spine twitched, but only for a brief moment.
