Malandor’s gaze darkened when Mirania allowed Grecan to settle down by resting on her.

“Listen, Mirania. Why do you think I suddenly appeared as the Princess’ partner?” said Malandor.

“I don’t have time to care and understand your eccentric behavior,” answered Mirania.

“What are you talking about? I did it to be helpful to you.”

“It will only be a hindrance.”

“You don’t trust me at all,” said Malandor.

“It’s a fact you realized too late,” added Mirania.

At Mirania’s gentle yet sarcastic words, Malandor’s forehead veins throbbed.

“… Anyway, the princess gave us some interesting information.”

‘You’ll be surprised by this.’ thought Malandor.

Malandor significantly raised the corners of his mouth, as if anticipating Mirania’s response.

“The prince’s partner is…”

The environment grew louder once more.

‘What else is new? The two continents have always been complicated and chaotic.’

Mirania looked behind Malandor, and his voice pierced her ears.

“A woman named Alice. Alice Everizen.”

“…”

“She’s the woman you’re looking for.”

She was already staring at them.

Mirania’s gaze was fixed on the couple slowly descending from the second floor.

The tall man with long navy hair wore a silk-woven outfit and moved with a perfect posture as if he had come out of an etiquette book.

Mirania’s gaze wasn’t on the man, but on the woman who was walking down the stairs with him as his escort.

“Yes. I found her.”

Alice…

“For decades, I have been longing for this moment.”

Mirania’s golden eyes flashed with madness, like a spider that found its prey.

People who were surprised by the appearance of the prince and his unexpected partner suddenly felt strange.

For some reason, they felt something was lurking behind them.

They looked back, but there was nothing to see, so they rubbed their arms for no reason.

“I suddenly feel chills. Why is that?”

“Are you cold?”

“No, it’s not cold…”

Meanwhile, Grecan couldn’t take his eyes off Mirania.

An unidentified breeze was swirling around Mirania, who was looking at something in the distance.

Her silver hair lifted slightly in the air and then fell repeatedly.

She seemed unaware of being stared at so intently that she might be looking right through them, and she seemed to have forgotten that she was even there.

Grecan became a little anxious.

“Why are you like this?”

It was the first time he had seen her like this. He felt dirty, as if he had become someone Mirania didn’t know.

Malandor’s strange voice flowed into his ear, and Grecan, who was at the height of his anxiety, reached out and grabbed Mirania’s elbow.

The air of Mirania, which had been tense as if a huge wave was about to hit, suddenly calmed down.

Mirania slowly turned her head. The golden eyes that had sparkled like those of a beast lost their strength.

Grekan stared at Mirania as if digging into her with his eyes as she returned to her usual indifferent gaze.

“Why did you act like that?”

Mirania tilted her head, confused by the calm expression on Grecan’s face.

“What do you mean?”

Grecan pulled Mirania into his embrace, his voice tense. Mirania was about to express her frustration when she heard the sound of his pounding heart.

Thump, thump. As the sound of his strongly beating heart flowed into her ears, Mirania’s heartbeat calmed down.

“I was too excited.”

She felt like she could accomplish anything, with only Alice in her eyes.

Part of her was disappointed that she couldn’t extract the blood from her disappearing body to cure Alice’s illness if she had entered a state of suspended animation.

It was an opportunity to break free from the vicious cycle of regression.

Did her excitement, enthusiasm, and tension read like the feelings of a beast to Grecan?

As Mirania recalled Grecan’s perplexed expression, she felt a bit uneasy.

Her mind, which had been burning hot, gradually calmed down and settled down coldly.

“No need to get excited. Now is not the time.”

Fortunately or unfortunately, her body still showed no signs of aging.

Mirania looked down at her perfectly functioning hands and gently pushed Gretchen’s chest.

“Don’t be so nervous. It’s probably just because I saw someone that made me happy”.

“Who is the person you’re happy to see? Mirania doesn’t know anyone.”

Grecan replied curtly and then glanced at the staircase that Mirania had been staring at.

It was still crowded with people, making a lot of noise.

“Is it that man? Or…”

Grecan’s gaze shifted to the side, towards the Crown Prince, and his words trailed off.

Mirania, lost in thought, suddenly realized who Grecan was talking about.

“Alice!”

What had caught Grecan’s attention was Alice, the woman who had been by his side for his entire previous life.

“How did the two of you come here together?”

Mirania turned her frozen face to Grecan.

Grecan’s gaze was fixed on Alice, completely ignoring the attention of the people on the Crown Prince.

“Grecan? Why are you acting like that? What’s wrong?”

Mirania’s throat trembled with tension, and she sharply scrutinized Gretchen’s every little reaction.

She was concerned about how Gretchen would react upon seeing Alice.

For the first time in his life, Grecan had just spotted Alice.

“Tell me, what did you feel when you saw Alice?”

Mirania didn’t blink an eye, determined not to miss any of Grecan’s gaze, breath, movements, or reactions.

Grecan’s eyes shook slightly. Confusion spread across his entire face.

Suddenly, Grecan jolted his arm, and Mirania’s gaze turned to the scream piercing her ears.

“Ahh! Oh my, Lady Everizen!”

It was the voice of the woman who had been in front of Alice. The prince embraced Alice with a pale face.

“She, she suddenly fainted.”

The woman who had everyone’s attention explained the reason for the scream, blushing.

Alice, supported by the prince, smiled awkwardly at the worried people, saying, “Ah, it’s okay. I haven’t been feeling well lately, probably because I skipped lunch because of the party. I’m embarrassed.”

With her blonde hair pulled down on one shoulder, Alice, with her blue-green eyes like a forest fairy, looked weaker due to her petite figure.

Those standing by were at a loss as to what to do as they witnessed her instinct to protect herself.

Mirania paid attention to Alice’s pale face, which was more noticeable than her beauty.

“She must be suffering from the witch disease.”

Alice was originally supposed to die at the age of twenty, unable to live any longer. Grecan and the Leverianz had run to prevent that.

However, the current Alice looked weak, but she was alive and well. She didn’t seem like she was going to die anytime soon.

Next, Mirania observed the prince who was supporting her.

As the only prince until the birth of the new queen’s son, he seemed to be living under the shadow of wealth.

His eyes were cold and ruthless with ambition. Despite supporting Alice and having a worried expression, his gaze did not change.

Mirania narrowed her eyes.

“I know someone with eyes like that.”

He was a human who had been an emperor hundreds of years ago. He caused a war between the two continents, which had been living in relative peace despite its complexity.
