I’m the Future Crazy Male Lead’s Mother Chapter 13
Black Hawk.
The Black Hawk was a group that also played a significant role in the original story.
The very group that fought fiercely against the crazed Axion until the very end was none other than the Black Hawk.
How else would I have remembered the name of the commander, who was only a supporting character, all this time?
‘It was Leon.’
Even his name was cool. He had been one of my favorite characters, after all.
The Black Hawk would later appear as subordinates of Vanilla, who became the head of the Siaster family. The readers were so captivated by the Black Hawk’s charm that they would desperately plead in the comments for Axion to please, please spare the Black Hawk.
Not only in the future, but even at this point in time, the Black Hawk was already extremely famous.
As a reader who had once shamelessly commented that I would strangle the author herself if she killed the Black Hawk, after learning that I had possessed this world, I had casually asked Carl.
‘Grandpa. Do you know the Black Hawk?’
‘The Black Hawk of the Siastor Ducal Family, you mean? Goodness, of course I do. Who in the Quizen Empire doesn’t know them?’
Then Carl told me a story from ten years ago.
As though it were only natural that I wouldn’t know about the affairs of the world because I was so obsessed with farming.
I listened to his story while crunching on an apple.
‘It was ten years ago, when Her Majesty Empress Scarlet had just taken over the throne. Because of the previous Emperor, who was rather weak in both body and mind, imperial authority had fallen to rock bottom.’
‘Hmm.’
‘Taking advantage of that opening, Grand Duke Valten, who was the maternal uncle of the then-Empress Scarlet, launched a coup. The Black Hawk played a major role at that time.’
‘Played a major role?’
‘Yes.’
Carl lowered the cloth he had been sewing and his eyes grew distant. He was recalling what had happened ten years ago.
If I were to summarize the story he told me in one sentence, it was this.
Grand Duke Valten betrayed the Empire and even stormed into Empress Scarlet’s bedchamber, but thanks to the barrier Dazar had erected at the time, the Empress remained safe.
It was as exciting as an old story told by a grandfather.
I became so absorbed in his tale that I even forgot I was eating my apple.
At the time, I hadn’t met Dazar yet and only thought of him as Vanilla’s father, so all I could say was, “Oh-ho.”
I remember thinking, So he really is the head of that monstrous ducal family!
‘Until then, the Siastor Ducal Family had been a Transcendent family with little connection to politics. However, by rescuing Her Majesty, who had barely been holding out inside the barrier, the family’s ties with the Imperial Family became much stronger publicly.’
‘Ooh. How did he rescue her?’
‘Apparently, he tore open space with divine magic and appeared in the bedchamber together with the knights. He had shattered all the defensive magic the Imperial mages had placed throughout the Imperial Palace. Then, as he stood in front of Empress Scarlet and looked down at the knights kneeling before her, he said this.’
‘What?’
‘Run wild, Black Hawk.’
After saying that, Carl shuddered.
‘Krrgh. Isn’t it cool? This old man’s heart always pounds at this part.’
‘Uh-huh……. It’s a little chuuni, but I guess it is pretty cool.’
‘What is chuuni?’
‘It’s a thing. A serious one.’
I calculated Duke Dazar’s age.
Ten years ago, he probably wasn’t suffering from chuuni syndrome, but perhaps he was a high school boy with an overpowered-protagonist syndrome?
‘Anyway, the Black Hawk ran wild just as he commanded. They crushed everything in their path.’
‘Hmm.’
I imagined black-armored knights rampaging through the palace, excitedly making their way down corridors filled with corpses, with red-stained carpets and portraits of former emperors scattered across the floor.
‘The Duke of Siastor never took a single step away from Empress Scarlet’s chambers and single-handedly exterminated every monster that came charging in.’
‘Monsters?’
‘Yes. As it turned out, Grand Duke Valten had deliberately opened rifts in space and released monsters into the Imperial Palace.’
‘Oh my goodness.’
‘Afterward, Grand Duke Valten was beheaded by the other Transcendents who arrived late. If not for the Siastor family at that time, the Imperial Family would have fallen.’
Now that I heard the whole story, it really was impressive.
“Ah-woo!”
“Ah.”
I had been lost in the memory when Axion suddenly snapped me back to reality by tugging on my hair.
“Uwah?”
“Oh, my goodness. Axion, that hurts, that hurts.”
I lightly flicked Axion’s nose as he giggled and pulled the strand of hair from his hand.
“Shall we go see your cool big brothers?”
“Uu!”
To think I was going to use such awesome members of the Black Hawk as workers!
I crossed the empty lot with a little excitement in my heart.
The large building bearing the Black Hawk’s emblem was shaped like the letter ‘ㅁ’.
It seemed to have a large training ground in the center, surrounded by corridors and small rooms.
“Um, excuse me.”
From the entrance and all the way through the corridor, I didn’t see a single attendant or soldier.
Nor did I see any of the Black Hawk knights.
‘Didn’t he say he’d told them I was coming?’
Dazar’s suggestion that I find workers among the Black Hawk was strange enough, but he had said he’d already spoken to them. And more importantly, I was excited at the thought of finally seeing the Black Hawk, so I walked right in.
But after walking for a little while, I caught the delicious smell of something.
Was it mealtime? It couldn’t be. It was around three o’clock now, an awkward time to be eating.
I tilted my head and continued walking.
And then I discovered a scene more suited to a pub in front of a university campus.
“…….”
In what appeared to be the training grounds, around fifteen men were sitting in a circle. Some of them were practically lying down.
Their helmets, armor, and swords had been tossed carelessly onto the floor.
In the center of their circle was a huge liquor jar, and beside it, skewered meat was slowly turning over a fire.
And above their heads, a tapestry hanging on the wall caught my attention.
It read:
♥3040 Gourmet Club: Eat & Drink♥
I rubbed my eyes once, then again. Even when I narrowed my eyes and looked again, the words hadn’t changed.
Looking more closely, I could now see the smaller writing underneath.
‘Following flavor, following style, oh wandering life!’
‘True time-wasting is eating and drinking.’
Next to the word “time-wasting,” there was a tiny note in parentheses: “salary thief.”
The burly men, their faces flushed from alcohol, laughed loudly.
“Hey, Leon! Look at all that juicy perfection! Of course, you’re the only one fit to be captain!”
I slowly turned my head.
There was Leon, my once-beloved favorite character whom I had adored to death.
At this point, which was far in the past compared to the original story, he would only be in his early twenties.
With a fairly muscular build, he had his face buried in the liquor jar while turning a lamb skewer over the fire with one hand.
A muffled voice came from the liquor jar his head was buried in.
“I’m only doing it because you old geezers burn the meat every time. Sheesh.”
I wanted to wake up from this dream.
What the hell were these trashy guys? Had I really come to the place where the Black Hawk was?
Ah. I must have taken a wrong turn.
I shook my head vigorously and stepped backward. I needed to get out of here quickly. If I kept watching, I felt like it would damage my mental health.
And right at that moment.
Someone’s shout stopped me in my tracks.
“That’s my skewer, you bastard! And you call yourself a Black Hawk?!”
Black Hawk? He said Black Hawk?
I slowly turned my head.
Two men were glaring at each other and fighting.
“I saw you eat two earlier, you idiot!”
“What? Idiot? You pig bastard, who are you calling an idiot?”
“W-what? Pig bastard? How could you say something so cruel……!”
A large man with a body deeply tanned by the sun trembled as he shouted, then suddenly turned his head away.
He collapsed sideways in a pose like a tragic heroine and pitifully trembled his shoulders.
Then the bald man who had been confronting him spoke with a helpless expression.
“This crazy bastard, he’s starting again. Captain, go get some salt!”
“Ah, what a pain.”
Leon frowned while still turning the lamb skewer.
“It’s right next to the skewers over there. Use that.”
The bald man slapped his forehead with his enormous hand as though he had just remembered, then grabbed a huge handful of salt.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
He sprinkled the salt over the brown-skinned man who was still sobbing, sending grains of salt flying everywhere.
A few grains bounced off my cheek with tiny taps.
“Watch your aim!”
Complaints erupted from around them.
They were so drunk that they still hadn’t even noticed I had arrived.
After throwing all the salt, the bald man angrily tore into his own skewer and took a big bite.
“Captain, is the lord not coming today either?”
“No. He said he doesn’t like coming here because it smells like trash.”
Leon answered.
The men lying around him muttered in heavily drunken voices.
“Where’s the trash around hereee? Hic.”
“Hehehe. That’s right. They should feel honored that we let them join our gourmet clubbb.”
Then the brown-skinned man, who had been lying pitifully on the floor and getting showered with salt, suddenly straightened his expression and said,
“You idiots. If the lord comes, we won’t be able to slack off. Ugh. What a bunch of morons.”
“We can just do it together. Hehehe.”
“Oh! That’s one way to do it!”
I desperately suppressed my urge to turn around and leave immediately. After listening to their conversation, I finally came to one conclusion.
They really were the Black Hawk.
