The Tyrant Won’t Let Me Go Chapter 110
💫
After reviewing the results from the Magic Research Division, it was concluded that my magical energy could indeed be used to block the activation of Ackeleta’s dark magic.
‘Originally, a magic swordsman’s energy only manifests in the form of attack magic using a sword. So, while the energy is inside the Captain’s body, it can’t suppress the activation of other magical energies.’
This was what Rukia explained to me, even drawing diagrams to illustrate.
‘But if we extract the Captain’s unused magical energy, we can use it to block the activation of dark magic. However, this extracted energy can’t be used for other types of magic, like defensive or teleportation spells.’
After hearing this explanation, Cedric asked Rukia if there was any risk of harm to my body during the extraction process.
Fortunately, Rukia said there wouldn’t be.
He mentioned that my magical energy had stabilized recently and was overflowing.
Especially when using the sword, magic is continuously generated, so if I wear the extraction device prepared by the Magic Research Division, a significant amount of energy could be collected in a short time.
‘And since the Captain’s energy regenerates quickly even after being released, it should be possible to extract energy over several days. If we store all that energy, we can fight back when we face Ackeleta.’
Thus, a countermeasure against dark magic gradually took shape.
Then, one day when almost all preparations were complete, the King of Ackeleta, who still believed Persephine’s maid was alive, sent a message.
“The Emperor’s life is in critical condition. The palace’s security is becoming increasingly chaotic.”
[That’s good to hear.]
A vicious voice came through the communication gem.
“And in three days, we should be able to smuggle Felix Flithia out of prison. That day is when all prisoners are bathed once a month.”
Persephine, using a voice-changing device, leaned toward the gem and whispered in a low voice.
[Good. Then bring him back to Ackeleta that day. I’ll prepare a carriage.]
Hearing this, Cedric wrote something on a piece of paper and handed it to Persephine.
Quickly understanding Cedric’s intent, Persephine smoothly persuaded her brother.
“That’s a good plan, but wouldn’t it be better for Your Majesty to personally handle Flithia on the way back? If we kill him after returning to the Ackeleta palace, it might raise suspicions.”
Persephine seemed slightly nervous, but her voice remained steady.
[…That does make sense. Let’s do it that way.]
As everyone in the room breathed a sigh of relief, Jayden Ackeleta’s voice echoed.
[Contact me again tomorrow for the detailed schedule.]
💫
The night was darker than coal, with a deep, oppressive darkness.
A shabby carriage carrying Felix Flithia sped across the plains, having just left the southern border of the Deamant Empire.
‘It’s almost time.’
As they neared their destination, Felix clenched his fists in tension.
The carriage gradually slowed and came to a complete stop with a creak. The coachman nodded as a signal, and Felix stepped out of the carriage onto the ground.
He noticed another carriage parked not far away.
Soon, people began to disembark from the other carriage after confirming Felix’s arrival from a distance.
‘That’s really…’
Among the shadows, Felix spotted the all-too-familiar figure of his lord, and rage surged within him.
Yet, he suppressed the urge to rush forward and swing his sword, staying still until the others approached.
“Sir Flithia, it’s been a while.”
Jayden’s relaxed voice sounded dangerously calm to Felix, like the stillness before a battle.
“Your Majesty.”
Jayden approached Felix, who knelt in greeting.
“Good. I heard you completed your mission well.”
“…Yes.”
“You’ve done well. But your mission isn’t over yet.”
The sharp sound of a sword being drawn echoed.
Men gathered around Felix, who remained kneeling, and Jayden smiled as he looked at him, holding his sword.
“Only when the sword is mine can your mission truly be considered complete.”
Jayden’s golden eyes were filled with madness.
“Seize him.”
At Jayden’s command, the men slowly closed in on Felix before lunging at him all at once.
Originally, Felix Flithia, captured in this manner, was supposed to be stabbed to death by Jayden Ackeleta’s sword right here.
‘Originally, that is, if no one had anticipated this situation.’
“Now!!”
At the shout of the coachman, who was disguised in a robe, the mages waiting under the cover of invisibility spells simultaneously cast teleportation magic.
Troops scattered across the plains were summoned one after another, forming a large formation.
“What, what’s going on?”
Faced with soldiers pointing spears and swords at them, Jayden Ackeleta and his subordinates had no choice but to retreat without laying a finger on Felix Flithia.
Outnumbered, they were soon surrounded.
And when all the waiting soldiers had finally been summoned, Jayden Ackeleta gasped at the astonishing sight before him.
“How are you…”
Jayden muttered as he saw Persephine standing tall, her feet firmly on the ground, pointing a magic-infused sword at him.
“I heard you hadn’t recovered yet…!”
“That’s because we pretended to be your subordinates and fed you that information.”
At the calm yet icy voice coming from across the field, Jayden looked up.
A man on a black horse, his red eyes gazing down at him.
The Emperor of Deamant, who was supposed to be critically injured and hovering between life and death, stood before him unscathed.
Beside him was the King of Chitran, who had promised cooperation with Ackeleta just days ago.
“You must have thought to kill Felix Flithia first, using the princess’s uncertain fate as an excuse to attack the Empire. Did you think we wouldn’t anticipate even that?”
Cedric was right. Without Caliberne, it would have been difficult to defeat Deamant even with Chitran’s help.
‘Damn it, trying to stay unnoticed, we didn’t bring enough people…!’
Dark magic surged from Jayden’s fingertips as he gritted his teeth.
At that, the mages among the men pulled out small iron boxes emitting black smoke from their pockets.
“Activate the magic now—”
At that very moment, the dark magic enveloping Jayden’s hand vanished in an instant.
“Huh, what’s going on?!”
Cracks appeared on the black boxes held by Ackeleta’s mages, and the black smoke disappeared without a trace.
‘Why is the magic failing now—’
As everyone panicked, a blue flash cut through the air, striking the gathered men.
Watching two or three men collapse helplessly, Jayden clenched his teeth and strained his fingers, but no more dark magic emerged.
“It’s useless.”
The silver-haired knight captain, her sword crackling with blue sparks, issued a warning.
The men, frozen at the sight of their fallen comrades, dared not move at Ciel’s words.
“Now you understand the situation you’re in.”
Cedric’s cold voice echoed across the field where soldiers from three nations stood.
“Surrender now.”
💫
The surrounded Ackeleta forces found no way to escape.
We had anticipated that Jayden Ackeleta would try to extract and kill Felix before launching a full-scale attack on the Empire with Chitran.
After all, Jayden likely judged that attacking the Empire after absorbing Caliberne would be more effective.
Indeed, the date and plan Jayden had communicated via the communication gem for Felix’s return were earlier than the loosely agreed-upon joint attack with Chitran.
We stationed troops near the promised location and had mages under invisibility spells waiting there.
These mages were to use teleportation magic to summon the nearby troops the moment Jayden appeared to meet Felix.
As a result, Jayden and his entourage now faced a force far outnumbering their own.
“Damn it all…”
Jayden, unwilling to give up on using dark magic, contorted his face and continued to move his fingers.
