My Daddy Hides His Power Chapter 329 - Side story Part 2 Chapter 25
“You must be tired after work, sorry to bother you. I have something urgent to ask about Jamie.”
Cheshire, wearing the baby carrier snugly holding Jamie, spoke apologetically.
After just three days of caring for the baby, he looked every bit like a devoted dad.
“Phew, even if you’re busy, you should at least keep things tidy.”
Lilith busily chatted as she tidied up the pile of papers on the living room table.
Yeah, since they’re cockroaches who know they’re in the wrong, let’s just let it slide…
“What did you want to ask?”
Oscar pretended to cross his arms and asked Cheshire.
“I’m planning on taking Jamie out tomorrow. Is that okay?”
“Going out? Aha.”
He meant he wanted to go out.
Well, newlyweds suddenly stuck at home taking care of a baby must feel pretty cooped up. It’s kind of pitiful…
“Of course not.”
Oscar said excitedly.
“That’s not possible.”
“Ugh! Can’t we take the baby out, Master?”
“Byaaaa?! (What’s wrong?!)”
Jamie, strapped to Cheshire’s front, flailed his arms and legs in protest.
‘What the heck is with that guy?’
He seemed to be full of complaints.
He was annoyed by the cockroaches, who seemed to be thinking of going out for fun instead of work, but he also said no for the sake of Jamie, who would be dragged around by them, a nuisance.
‘Could it be that he wants to go out?’
Oscar, who didn’t mind staying indoors for over ten years as long as his basic needs were met, couldn’t understand Jamie—but at least he noticed and gently corrected him.
“No, you can leave. Go.”
“Wow!”
Lilith, having finished clearing the table, ran excitedly to Oscar.
“I’m going to Pareuman Riverside Park to have some fun tomorrow! You should come too, Master. It’s the Wizard Tower’s regular day off, isn’t it? We can go for a drive in a sports car, eat some delicious food, and take a walk!”
“Wow.”
Oscar’s mouth dropped open.
“Do you have any conscience? You want to have fun and go for a drive, but you still have to watch the baby. Since leaving the baby alone to go out would feel awkward, you plan to play the good guy by inviting others along, turning it into a day out where you’re both babysitter and chauffeur all in one?”
“Eeeeek?!”
Lilith was shocked.
“That’s a hurtful thing to say! Why are you such a twisted person?”
“What are you talking about? Is there anyone as twisted yet straightforward as me?”
“You don’t have to babysit, Master. We’ll take care of Jamie. If no one takes Master out, you’ll just stay home for ten years straight. It’s going to get hot soon, so we should enjoy the nice weather while we can.”
“Wouldn’t some people enjoy staying home for ten years? Forcing them out would be torture.”
“People need sunlight.”
“Byaaaa! (That’s right!)”
Oscar closed his eyes tightly.
He couldn’t understand those crazy father and daughter who went out to play and recharge their energy on their days off, not even a little.
For a work-weary office worker, the proper way to spend a day off is to stay cooped up at home and rest.
“I don’t want to! I’m gonna rest!”
* * *
…Of course, he didn’t get to rest.
Suck suck suck suck.
The next day, Oscar Manuel, looking completely drained, was half-lying on the sofa, feeding the baby with a bottle.
“Did I kill someone in my past life?”
Pull!
Jamie pulled out the bottle and laughed.
“Wahaha!”
“Crazy. Even the laughter is the same. It’s creepy.”
“You should think of good things! Da Lord of da Wizard Tower must’ve done lotsa good stuff in his past life to have a pretty daughter like Lilith. She’s a newlywed, right? Who wanna bring parents along when you can just play with your hubby?”
“For a baby, your pronunciation is so good.”
“Yeah. I’m tryin’ real hard to get used to it. Yesterday, I even rolled over all by myself. But I don’t show it to the kids.”
A three-month-old baby who managed to roll over despite the landlord’s physical limits and strictness.
He’d already guessed from his unusual size, but sure enough, the strongest in the world had exceptional growth.
Suck suck suck suck.
He sucks again from the bottle.
Oscar is feeding the baby formula while waiting for the newlywed couple to get ready to go out.
Once they’re ready, he’ll have to drive the newlyweds and the baby along the Parmann riverside. Truly a life that brings tears to your eyes.
Pull!
“The bwest.”
“Are you finished eating?”
“Mhm.”
Oscar sighed as he held Jamie and gently patted his back to help him burp.
“Five out of fiwve stawrs.”
“What?”
“Lowd of the Wizad Tower’s formula.”
“The day comes when even a baby judges the taste of your formula.”
“My son-in-law gets fiwve stars too. This is so, swo delicious. It seems there’s nothiwn that kid can’t do. I feel like I really did a great job getting my pwincess married off.”
“Aren’t all baby formulas the same? Does the taste really differ that much?”
“Mhm. I didn’t know, but after taswing it myself, I learned the rawio is really, really impowant.”
After letting out a sharp burp, Jamie continued to speak.
“My Fader gets four and a half stars. And our pwincess… gets two, two stars…”
His voice trailed off at the end, but it was clear even without asking that two stars was actually a generous score. Feeling a bit sorry, Oscar shook his head.
“But our princess is dowing her bewst. She’s newlywed, but she can’t sleep well becauwse of the baby, and she can’t spewnd time with her husband either. It’s really tough.”
“You wished to live like that yourself, so what’s there to say? You should feel sorry for yourself, living every moment with your dignity being destroyed.”
“No? I think it’s actually owkay! The formula just tastes a bit off, but our pwincess is good at everything else. And anyway, the pwincess doesn’t even know it’s me… Ah, whatever!”
Jamie suddenly got startled and told him what happened yesterday. Lilith seemed suspicious about where ‘Jamie’ came from and asked something while looking at the bracelet.
“But you just let it slide?”
“Mm. It doesn’t seem like she found anythwing, well.”
“I see. If the landlord has any sense, they’ll probably try to help hide your identity, don’t you think?”
In the meantime, Oscar, perhaps wanting to add another line to his research paper, pulled the sheet of paper on the table toward him and scribbled something down.
“The moment you’re found out, Lilith will recognize you as her father, and then it’ll be hard to fulfill your wish of experiencing parenthood.”
“Is that so?”
“Don’t worry too much. Well, I’ve made some mistakes too, so I’ll take responsibility and help you hide your identity until the end.”
“Thank you, Lowd of Wizad Tower. Then, could I trouble you for jus one more thing?”
“What else?”
“They’re newlyweds, but all they do is take care of the baby—how pitiful. At least my son-in-law gets to go out for wok, but my pwincess is only going out to fow the first time in a while today. Wouldn’t it be nice if the two of them could relax and enjoy themselves a bit?”
“Why are you talking so long?”
“Lowd of Wizad Tower, please put on the baby carrier.”
“….”
Oscar clenched his teeth. He was certain that he must have committed some sin in his past life.

Eastern Continent, Parman Riverside Park.
We spent a happy time here, a place famous as a dating spot for couples because the scenery is at its best at sunset.
We drove around the 100-acre riverfront estate my grandfather had given me for my seventh birthday, and had lunch at a fancy Riverview restaurant.
The surprising thing is that during all that time, Oscar, wearing a baby carrier, was holding Jamie, feeding him formula, and taking care of him!
“Lord of the Wizard Tower, if you’ll allow me, I’ll take Jamie now.”
“Enough.”
Oscar waved off Cheshire’s offer.
“Since you’re already out, why don’t you just stick together nice and close, like cockroaches?”
We told him several times that we would take care of it, but Oscar insisted on keeping Jamie, saying he liked him.
“Master, if you do this much for me, it really feels like I invited you out just to use you as my babysitter and chauffeur.”
“No, don’t worry about it. This is all my karma. I must’ve killed someone in a past life.”
“Yes?”
“Enough. Are you done playing now?”
“Oh, no!”
I pointed at the rows of tents lined up along the walking trail.
“Let’s go get our fortunes told!”
This is the purpose of my outing today.
A street lined with fortune-telling booths, their tents clustered together in a bustling row.
<The One and Only Crystal Ball Fortune in the World>
“Huh?”
Recalling my previous visit, I found myself in the same place, with the same tents, but the sign had changed.
<The One and Only Card Reading>
<~Couples Only! Spicy Content♡~>
Originally, it was a place for card readings, and since the content was explicit, only couples were allowed to enter.
“Oh my gosh! Did that lady quit her business?”
“Just in case, let’s ask.”
Cheshire lifted the entrance flap and went in first. Following behind, I immediately realized the owner was still the same.
The short-haired fortune-teller lady in a navy robe!
“Welcome… Oh, a club!”
As soon as she saw Cheshire’s face, the short-haired woman blurted out instinctively. Oscar, who was the last to enter, frowned and asked.
“What’s a club?”
“It’s nothing.”
Cheshire immediately hid it.
