“Cough… Cough…”

I couldn’t breathe in the dark. Like a fish caught in the sea and thrown on a cutting board, I was out of breath. No one was strangling me, yet I felt like my airway was blocked.

Strangely, Seong Chan-young’s voice was clearly heard even in the dark where I couldn’t see an inch ahead.

“You can’t run away. On the subject of driving out the owner at will and entering my body like a thief.”

What? Who would’ve wanted to pick a guy like you and transmigrate? I’m a victim, too, dude.

“Cough…..”

“Stop it.”

It was difficult to even say that word with gasping breath. I shed tears in my nightmare.

Why should I be treated like this? What did I do wrong? When I woke up, I had already transmigrated.

‘The gongs keep bothering me, asking me if I’m sick, and Seo Eun-soo becomes a completely different person. Seong Chan-young, whom I don’t know if it’s real or fake, is mean to me…….’

Even though my eyes were blurred, I felt that the stress coins had accumulated so much that they were on fire. They think I’m a local punching bag. They say even earthworms wriggle if you step on them, but I’m more poisonous than earthworms, and I’ve already been stepped on several times, so I feel very fucked up.

Thinking this far, the strength that I don’t know where it came from went into my body that was getting more and more sagging.

“…hey.”

“What?”

“Fucck… Where are you giving advice on the subject of rolling your body recklessly? You fucking damn thing. If you’re going to come to get a companion to go to Hwangcheon-gil [1] with, at least get on your knees, you psycho.”

Seong Chan-young stopped talking for a moment because he was embarrassed by the double swear I spat out.

For a cub who disappeared after living through the hell of life, he sure talked a lot. I wonder if Seong Chan-young had lived pitifully all his life, but it was unacceptable to treat me like a thief who stole my life.

‘How did I manage to hold out?’

I am not as healthy as you, and I have not been able to do what I want to do, so I have a grudge. When I finally recovered and felt worth living, I was transmigrated into you like a bolt from the blue.

This is not my home.

Even if I killed that despair by frying it in that green onion oil, the one wearing the hat wouldn’t know.

“If you want to go through, go through by yourself! I’m going to live.”

“How arrogant! Where did you come from…….”

At the same time, Seong Chan-young’s face sprang up in the dark. Even though the space in the nightmare was all black, only Seong Chan-young’s face was as pale as a ghost, so I could see it well.

Seong Chan-yeong’s delicate face was distorted like a yaksha. Even though it was a face I had seen many times in the mirror, the way he was angry was quite unfamiliar.

“I’ll kill you.”

It was the same as what was described in the novel. His pretty face crumpled like an evil spirit and held out his white hand to me horrifyingly. All I could see was that he was going to strangle me.

‘Oh? But I’m not in pain anymore.’

I felt as if some powerful force that had been chaining on me had faded. I was able to breathe properly again. Looking at the plaster-like pale hand of Seong Chan-young approaching slowly at a slow speed, I hit it and bounced.

“Get out! Don’t ever show up in front of me again!”

“Stop right there!”

If it were you, when you wouldn’t know if you were alive or dead, would you stand there to kill me?

I know because I’m a big fan of these horror movies, but you have to never stop and go through the thirty-six series of lines to increase your chances of surviving.

“Gasps, gasps…..”

I ran without looking back. I didn’t even want to see more of the guy more horrifying than Medusa. I ran and ran recklessly without knowing how to wake up from a nightmare.

As I ran, I saw a place where a small light leaked out. Soon the light grew bigger and brighter, and my vision became brighter again.

“Haa, haa.”

“The patient is awake!”

“Call the guardian!”

‘This is…’

It was a hospital ceiling that I didn’t want to be used to. The ceiling that I saw in my dream.

⚝ ⚝ ⚝

“Chan-young ah…”

“Grandpa?”

Even before I could figure out whether this was still a dream or a reality, a large and strong arms hugged me tightly.

“What a relief. What a relief…….”

My shoulders were wet with dampness. The chairman was crying.

‘What’s going on here…….’

I opened my eyes wide and read the atmosphere around me while patting Chairman Seong on the back awkwardly.

‘Why is everyone looking at me with such sad eyes?’

As if they had witnessed a miracle survivor and witnessed a truly warm reunion, everyone was looking at me with tears in their eyes and wiping eyes.

“I’m glad you’re alive, patient.”

“The relationship between the grandfather and grandson is strong. You’re on good terms with each other.”

I was the only one puzzled in a warm atmosphere. Chairman Seong grabbed me and cried loudly.

“I really thought I’d lose you, baby……. It’s all my fault. I won’t do that from now on, so just don’t be sick.”

“Uh, well, okay.”

I was puzzled. First I woke up and was surprised that it was a hospital. I used to lie in my room before I fell asleep, but now I’m lying on a hospital bed and wearing a patient’s uniform.

I thought it was just hallucination rather than nightmares, but the vivid sensation left in my throat told me that it was real.

The scarlet marks left on the neck were eerie. The thick tree-trunk marks were clear, as if someone had hung them with a rope. When I went to the bathroom to wash my face, I was shocked to see the reflection of my neck in the mirror.

“Did I almost die?”

I could get a rough picture of the situation. It wasn’t just a nightmare, but it was obvious that it had an impact in reality. The fact that I was really close to death made my bones ache.

What was even more strange was that no one noticed the marks left on my neck. Chairman Seong, Baek Do-jun, and the medical staff said they only had symptoms that seemed to strangle themselves, but no one asked me about my marks.

‘It was a good thing that I ran so hard not to die but to live.’

I was patting Chairman Seong’s back mechanically with relief, when I heard Baek Do-jun’s voice next to me.

“You……I really thought you were really going to die.”

Baek Do-jun’s voice was shaking terribly. He looked like he was batting away his eyes because he didn’t want to cry.

‘What’s wrong with him?’

Looking at me with the eyes of a passionate lover, I hesitated and pulled my butt out of the mattress. It was very burdensome to face his eyes that I wanted to put a mosaic on them.

“You said it didn’t hurt, but what is this? You had a seizure and you were hiding it? The chairman was so worried. Of course I was too. Ito…….”

At the last minute, Baek Do-jun was also in tears. The eyes of people looking at me sadly increased. No, that’s not it. I know what you’re imagining, but don’t say it.

“Your boyfriend was also very worried, patient. I’m glad you woke up safely.”

Oh, damn it. I knew it would lead to this misunderstanding.

“That’s not my boyfriend.”

“That’s not my grandson’s boyfriend, so please don’t make such scary jokes.”

When I hit the iron wall, Chairman Sung also applied titanium over the iron wall. He was still sobbing with tears and a runny nose, so he wasn’t very dignified, but he was a strong ally to me.

“Oh, excuse me. He came with me as a guardian, so I thought he was my boyfriend of course.”

The medical staff, who became embarrassed when they came out in a warm atmosphere and marked X with their whole body, saying it was never Chairman Seong, apologise for misunderstanding and stepped down.

“You’re fine, so you can leave the hospital now.”

“Oh, really? Then I’ll go right away…….”

I was about to get up because I thought it was good, but Chairman Seong grabbed my wrist. It didn’t hurt because it was like a dandelion fluff.

“What’s the matter, Grandpa?”

“Is it okay if you don’t get tested? I’m so worried about you falling ill like this…….”

“Didn’t I come to the hospital and get tested? Why are you…….Oh.”

I could see what Chairman Seong was saying.

‘Seong Chan-young’s trait is a recessive omega, so it must have been difficult to do it in front of Baek Do-jun in order not to be caught.’

But what should I do about this? He already knows that Seong Chan-young is a recessive omega, but he’s pretending not to know.

‘Let’s cover it up. I don’t know anything.’

Chairman Seong does not know that Baek Do-jun has noticed Seong Chan-young’s secret. And Baek Do-jun doesn’t know that I know Seong Chan-young’s secret because I transmigrated.

It didn’t have to be revealed just because they knew it. There are other people’s eyes, so I’d better be quiet.

“How long has it been since I came to the hospital?”

“It hasn’t been long. The moment you were put in the hospital bed, you had a seizure and found a way to calm it down.”

Chairman Seong’s words gave me goosebumps again. Reflectively, a hand went over the mark. If I had been strangled by Seong Chan-young’s hand, I would have died.

“If you want, I’ll bite Baek Do-jun and have him diagnosed. I am worried about your health more than anything else.”

“I wish to remain, sir.”

Baek Do-jun seemed to think that he was giving a congratulatory order because he was dissatisfied with himself.

“I appreciate that you took me and Chan-young here, but since the engagement is broken, you are only an outsider. I want you to go back.”

“……is that so?”

It was a flat refusal. When I glanced at Baek Do-jun, he wanted to say something, but he seemed to hold it in.

‘Maybe he wants to stay, but he can’t.’

In the position of his ex-fiance, it would have been ambiguous to put words on him as he treated him like a ritual folding screen. It was comfortable for me to shut up on my own.

“I’m all right. Grandpa, I know you’re worried, but this isn’t a physical problem……. It’s because I had a bad dream.”

“I’ve never seen a case of a fit to the point where someone is dying just because they’re having a bad dream in their life.”

You were right. If it weren’t for the world in the novel, I would have asked for an appointment with a psychiatrist to get a exorcism right away.

‘But I transmigrated!’

And if the real Seong Chan-young appeared in his dream and tried to kill me in reality, it certainly didn’t bode well.

‘This could happen again in the future.’

I was afraid of it. In addition, unless the real Seong Chan-young died and went to the afterlife, this was not something to be solved by receiving medical treatment at the hospital.

“If this happens again, I’ll see a doctor then. I’m really fine, so let’s go home first.”

When I slightly grabbed Chairman Seong’s sleeve and asked for it, Chairman Seong made a subtle expression as if he were laughing and crying at the same time and sighed deeply.

“Sure. If that’s what you want, let’s go home.”

“I’m not really sick, so don’t misunderstand me.”

“……I got it.”

Grandpa, why are you answering with a questioning look? I’m really upset.

  1. I feel like he should just get some tests done just to be sure. There could be other things wrong that he doesn’t know about, just like how the novel never mentioned OG Seong Chan-young’s suicide attempts he could have some condition the novel never mentioned or some complication left over from multiple suicide attempts. Like it never hurts to get a check up.

    1. Or even to prove to everyone he’s not sick so they stop going overboard

      1. Just as proof would be good. But I guess they’re worried that if they do a test at this hospital, the staff will know that he’s a recessive omega and that means that the others will find out. Grandpa might just be used to hiding it, but SCY probably just doesn’t want the hassle of the other alphas figuring that out as well
