“Chan-young ah!”

When he smashed through the door, he saw Chan-young lying on the bed. He couldn’t breathe properly like a drowning man. He felt like he was going to die soon if he kept making only the squeaking sound.

“Woo! Awoo! Awooo! Awooo.”

While general barked violently and sadly, Chairman Seong checked his grandson’s condition.

‘He’s unconscious.’

It wasn’t just a nightmare. Chan-young was unable to breathe as if he had been weighed down by something.

“Chan-young ah, wake up!”

Gasps……..gasps…….let me……live…….”

That was all he said in a dying voice. Chairman Seong felt like his heart was about to break when he said it in a split voice as if pleading.

“Let’s go to the hospital first, baby. I was all wrong.”

‘I shouldn’t have left you alone…….’

I could tell at a glance that it was unusual. Chairman Seong immediately ran out to the living room, carrying Chan-young.

Instead of despairing amid the surging regret, he had to save his grandson first. It is not too late to give Chan-young a sincere apology after that.

If only he were alive.

“You must go to the hospital! Come on!”

The alphas, who were still around the table, stood up in surprise when Chairman Seong shouted urgently.

“What’s the matter………Seong Chan-young?!”

“……Seong Chan-young?”

“What’s wrong with him? He was fine until a while ago……. He looks so blue!”

“I’ll get the car keys.”

Joo Tae-kang, Yoo Yi-seo, Chae Yoon-chan, and Baek Do-jun were shocked at the sight of Chan-young, who shivered and could barely breathe regularly.

Baek Do-jun, who barely caught his words, brought his car key.

“Whatever it is, please save my grandson. Please.”

Chairman Seong shed tears, carrying Chan-young on his back. He was half out of his mind in fear of losing his grandson.

It’s already late. The situation made it difficult for Chairman Seong’s secretary to come with a driver. However, it was impossible to drive the elderly and the weak into fear.

“……don’t worry, Chairman. I’ll take you to the hospital. Chan-young will be safe.”

“Can, can you? I beg of you.”

“Of course. Let’s go.”

Baek Do-jun soothed Chairman Seong, who was scared, and immediately went out and started the car.

Seo Eun-soo shook his hands in a place that was noisy due to a series of actions. Blood flowed from his mouth as he tore off his red and fine lips.

“What’s wrong with Chan, Chan-young? Call an ambulance right now…….”

Seo Eun-soo was also shell-shocked when he saw Chan-young, who had turned pale like a corpse, and finally stammered and tried to call 119. It was Yoo Yi-seo who stopped it.

“Wake up, Seo Eun-soo. This is a corner of the countryside. It’s faster to drive to the hospital.”

“……I see.”

“Don’t mess around for nothing and make it big, stay still. Even if you try to do something because you’re nervous, it’s stalling.”

He was angry at the cold words, but he had no choice but to withdraw with conviction. For Seo Eun-soo, who does not have a license, there was nothing he could do now.

“Let’s go, Chairman. I’ll try to get to the nearest university hospital as soon as possible.”

“Please.”

Baek Do-jun boarded the driver’s seat and grabbed the steering wheel. Chairman Seong and unconscious Chan-young were in the back seat. Baek Do-jun tried to move the drooping praise from Chairman Seong, but Chairman Seong remained firm. As if he would never let go of his grandson, he carried him in his arms.

“We’ll come with you.”

“I’m running out of time. I’m in a hurry. First of all, I will go to the hospital with Chairman Sung and Sung Chan-young, so you guys follow me.”

At the words, the faces of Chae Yoon-chan, Joo Tae-kang, Yoo Yi-seo, and Seo Eun-soo were all distorted, but they were soon released. It was because it was an unavoidable situation.

“……Okay. Take him to the hospital as soon as possible. We’ll be there in a minute.”

“Yes.”

At Joo Tae-kang’s words, Baek Do-jun stepped on the accelerator as hard as he could. Soon the car carrying Seong Chan-young became a small dot and disappeared.

“We should also go.”

At Yoo Yi-seo’s words, everyone left the rice they were eating and quickly got into the car. Seo Eun-soo ran and contacted the ladies who had already left work.

“Ajumma! Cha, Chan-young is sick. So I have to go to the hospital in a hurry……. I’m sorry, but please clean the table. I’m sorry.”

[The young master is sick? Yes, all right. We’ll clean it up, so please bring back the young master in good health!]

Chae Yoon-chan, Yoo Yi-seo, and Joo Tae-kang had their own cars, except Seo Eun-soo. When the three alphas got into the car and started the engine, Seo Eun-soo only stamped his feet.

‘I have to go, too.’

Sadly, Seo Eun-soo had no means of transportation to go to Chan-young. Late at night, there were no passing buses or taxis in the remote mountains. How can I manage to call a taxi? It’s too late to call one anyway.

“I can’t believe I’m so helpless.”

Chae Yoon-chan looked at Seo Eun-soo who was in despair, waved his shiny gold hair in the dark and gestured to come.

“Let’s go. You’ll feel uneasy if you stay at home, too.”

“……thank you. Chae Yoon-chan ssi.”

“There’s nothing to be thankful for. It was a matter of course to be done.”

Seo Eun-soo did not refuse and boarded Chae Yoon-chan’s car in the back. Seo Eun-soo’s mind was crumpled with complexity.

‘It would have been nice if I could be his support at a time like this….’

Even though he became an alpha, Seo Eun-soo remained a powerless young man. He felt pain in his situation, where he could not do anything even if Chan-young was sick at an arm’s length.

He couldn’t forget Baek Do-jun treating Chan-young like a prince. At that moment, he was disillusioned with himself, who had no choice but to stand in a daze.

“Are you all right?”

Yoon-chan glanced at Seo Eun-soo, who continued to bite his lips even though blood was forming around his mouth, kicked his tongue, and asked.

“……I’m okay. Let’s go to the hospital.”

Seo Eun-soo was dissatisfied with his situation, but he was not pessimistic. Even if there was something annoying, he held out, thinking that he could solve it somehow.

But now he even felt pathetic for himself. Even in this situation, he became depressed and wanted to be strong in the reality that he couldn’t do anything without leaning on someone.

To protect someone when necessary.

Another drop of blood flowed from the lips, which kept tearing apart. Seo Eun-soo swallowed it.

Blood flowed from the lips; it hurt as if it were flowing from the heart.

“Ugh….”

Chan-young groaned all the way to the hospital. Cold sweat trickled down like rain. Chairman Seong hoped that his sick grandson would be safe until he arrived at the hospital.

“Can’t you go a little faster?”

“We’re going as fast as we can, Chairman nim. I know you’re in a hurry, but I ask for your understanding because it’s even worse if there’s an accident.”

“……yes, I understand.”

Just by looking at the dark night scenery that flicked out of the window, he could see that Baek Do-jun was ready to run with a speeding ticket.

‘Chan-young ah, what is hurting you?’

Chairman Seong looked down at Chan-young’s body writhing in pain and groaned. His heart tightened with regret that if he had known it would be like this, he should have had all the tests done when he was hospitalized for seafood allergy instead of being timid.

Chan-young’s pale and grimacing face gave Chairman Seong and Baek Do-jun, who was driving, a negative imagination.

Their anxiety stemmed from the concern that Chan-young might have made another extreme choice again.

‘What if Chan-young hurt himself because of what I said?’

‘What if Seong Chan-young was still mentally at bay and was more stressed by us without overcoming it all?’

Both of them were guilty of committing sins, so they were terrified. On the surface, there were no wounds on Chan-young’s body, but it was a more serious matter if it led to a mental problem.

“Ugh…………ha…….a.”

The air in the car was heavy, with only intermittent Chan-young’s sound of pain from time to time. Baek Do-jun and Chairman Seong listened to Chan-young’s breathing without saying anything to each other.

“……What would you do if Chan-young made another choice due to suffering?”

It was Chairman Seong who first spoke in silence. The story brought up with a stony face was a difficult topic to answer.

“If it’s because of me and those who have come with me, I’ll have to go back.”

“Really?”

“I know you think of us as a thorn in the side. That goes for Chan-young, too. Until now, I thought it was okay, so I stayed still, but if it wasn’t for that……. I don’t want to hurt Chan-young anymore.”

“……is that so?”

Chairman Seong’s question was directed at young alpha, including Baek Do-jun, but at the same time it was also directed at himself.

‘Please wake up, Chan-young ah. If I am also a burden to you, I won’t show up as long as you say you don’t need my affection anymore.’

But if allowed to be around, Chairman Seong could have done anything to make Chan-young, his grandson, happy as long as he was alive.

“I can see the hospital.”

“Good job. I’m going to take Chan-young to the emergency room.”

Chairman Seong carried Chan-young to the emergency room. Baek Do-jun followed.

“Let me… Let me live……”

Chan-young’s voice, trembling and desperately asking for mercy, even though it was small, broke the hearts of the viewers.

“It will be alright, it will be alright.”

Chairman Seong tried hard to hide his anxiety.

He could not let his grandson, who had spent his entire life yearning for love, go like this.

‘Don’t die, Seong Chan-young.’

It was the same for Baek Do-jun, who had always felt complicated feelings for Chan-young.

  1. As traumatizing as it is that Chan-young is in this state I’m glad the alphas finally seem to understand how burdensome their presence has been to Chan-young’s mental state.

I have to say Seo Eun-soo’s attitude makes me upset. I think it’s okay to be frustrated that he can’t help but he’s fixating a lot on his own feelings of helplessness instead of focusing on Chan-young’s wellbeing.

  2. ㅠㅠ scy, please wake up and live well
