“I want to live.”

What’s the point of asking? Did she see me as someone who didn’t want to live? I wanted to hold my sister by the collar, cry, and ask her.

But I couldn’t. It was because I woke up from the dream.

“Oh, Chan-young ssi. Did you wake up?”

“……Seo Eun-soo ssi?”

“I’m sorry if I woke you up when you were sleeping well. I was worried about you, so…….”

What did he do? The hazy head was not quick to think and switch, so I couldn’t understand what he meant.

“It’s all right. I was not having a good dream, so I’m more relaxed when I wake up.”

A hoarse sound came from my throat. Now my voice was also gone. I was in a state where I just could breathe. Far from getting better, there was no answer to barely maintaining the status quo.

‘I think I’ve been sleeping too much lately.’

What if I become a sloth?

“How long did I sleep this time?”

“It’s been about three or four hours. You didn’t eat anything, did you? Here, have some porridge.”

On the tray served by Seo Eun-soo, there was a porridge with steam rising. It was abalone porridge, as I heard before I went to bed. It was also a porridge that was pretty and neat, and even decorated with sincerity. Next to the porridge bowl, Jang-jorim [1] and kimchi were neatly placed over the bowl like a franchise porridge restaurant.

“Did Baek Do-jun do this?”

“Yes. He made it for Chan-young. He told me to take responsibility and feed you everything.”

Seo Eun-soo said Baek Do-jun made it, but it was surprising that he didn’t bring it himself. He’s even telling Seo Eun-soo to order me to eat it. Did I seem to listen to Seo Eun-soo well?

‘He’s not wrong though.’

Even if the original work was distorted, the main shou was still the main shou. I acted my best to Seo Eun-soo because I didn’t know if he had a relationship with the gongs.

Of course, Seo Eun-soo was nice, so I was also nice. He saved me from a meeting with Moon Kyung-sik.

The table was set up so that I could eat on the bed. I was wondering where else he could find this, but I decided to fill my stomach, leaving my curiosity behind.

When I took a spoon and swallowed the warm porridge, the warmth filled my empty stomach. It was delicious. The abalone porridge, which was neither salty nor bland, was perfectly seasoned to my taste.

“I hate to admit it, but it’s delicious. That’s why the alphas left Baek Do-jun to cook.”

It was a taste that didn’t lag behind Ajumma’s cooking skills, who was in charge of my food and wanted to fatten me up. One of the conditions for K gong seemed to include cooking skills, but if you look at this, Baek Do-jun was a very exemplary gong.

Seo Eun-soo, who was staring at me, murmured faintly as I ate the porridge to recover my physical strength.

“I wanted to take care of you. It’s as if I’ve already lost my turn.”

Plop.

“What?”

“It was the first time I became dissatisfied with being in a detached house. I didn’t even know you were sick……. I’m disqualified as a part-timer.”

Seo Eun-soo’s behavior of digging a tunnel alone without anyone saying anything [2] naturally opened his mouth.

“I didn’t invite you to suffer.”

Seo Eun-soo, who keeps trying to find work, became frustrated. I said it’s okay, yet he keeps apologizing.

“I want to work as much as I get paid for the period of time I’m with you. Is this too much for you?”

“It’s…….”

He looked at me with moist black eyes, and it was hard to say yes. I didn’t answer. I didn’t want to lie and say no, but I also didn’t want to see Seo Eun-soo’s disappointed face because I said yes.

Instead, I changed the subject.

“Is Seo Eun-soo ssi okay? I hope you didn’t catch a cold.”

“It doesn’t matter if you move. There is a popular belief that if you catch a cold, you will get better.”

‘No, what’s so good about being sick…….’

I was being a little emotional. Seo Eun-soo is now an alpha, so he doesn’t catch a cold easily, and even if he does, he will end up coughing at a very light level.

I envied the relaxation of a healthy body. Oh man. If I had transmigrated into an alpha’s body, I’d be able to fill the field in an instant, taking the place of the cow. What is unfairness in the world.

“What are you thinking about?”

Eun-soo’s fingers touched lightly on my forehead. I felt bad, thinking it was rude to ignore someone in front of me.

“I’m sorry. I was thinking of something else.”

“Eat the rest of the porridge. You need to eat it when it’s warm. I’m keeping my eyes on you until you finish eating.”

Seo Eun-soo stared at me in a flower cup pose. I would have hated it if someone else did it and told me to eat it all, but Seo Eun-soo only looked good thanks to his beauty. He was a human flower.

“I’ll eat it all, so can I eat it comfortably?”

“You promised, okay?”

“Yes, yes.”

“All right, then.”

Was there an agreement to make Seong Chan-young healthy between the gongs and Seo Eun-soo while I was asleep? It was funny to see Seo Eun-soo checking my condition with his eyes wide open even though the flower cup was removed.

I kept pushing the porridge into my mouth even though I had no appetite. It was not difficult to eat because it was savory and delicious. The bamboo bowl soon bottomed out.

“I’m done, see? I kept my promise.”

“Excellent, Chan-young ssi. Now take a second look at it and take a good rest. For today, all the employed aunts and uncles unanimously urged you not to overdo it by going outside.”

“Well, I see.”

I could roughly guess what I would look like to others. They might think I’m just a farmer who wants to endure the pain and farm foolishly.

“It’s because everyone’s worried about you, so don’t take it badly.”

“That can’t be true. Well…… Baek Do-jun, Chae Yoon-chan, Yoo Yi-seo, and Joo Tae-kang will be exceptions.”

“Except for them.”

Seo Eun-soo’s smile showed slyness. Bringing a bowl of porridge made by Baek Do-jun, I was grateful and unfamiliar with how he reacted to me.

“That’s right. What happened to general’s walk?”

After drinking water, I looked for General, but I couldn’t see him. When I asked out of curiosity, Seo Eun-soo gave me a wild flower that he picked from the side of the road.

“I took him for a walk. I don’t want anyone else to follow me. I happened to walk along the trail and found this.”

“By any chance…… Did you run into Moon Kyung-sik?”

Seo Eun-soo shook his head when I asked because she was scared when she said it was a promenade.

“Maybe because I changed the path of taking a walk, I never ran into Moon Kyung-sik. General was quiet, too.”

I felt fortunate, but at the same time, I got goosebumps because I was definitely convinced that I was the target that Moon Kyung-sik was aiming for.

As I grabbed my arm and trembled, Seo Eun-soo quickly removed the table and carefully laid me back on the bed.

“You’ll be all right, Chan-young ssi. Baek Do-jun, Yoo Yi-seo, Chae Yoon-chan, and Joo Tae-kang were all very angry about what Chan-young was sick about. All of them were shocked by Moon Kyung-sik’s rude behavior, so they were all angry.”

There was a sense of relief at the words. I don’t think I ever thought of suffering from aftereffects because I’m a recessive omega.

“…… I can’t say it’s not his fault either.”

Moon Kyung-sik’s action was a tyrannical act that deserved criticism. As soon as Secretary Choi completed the investigation, I was going to figure out his intentions and avenge him.

“It’s tiring to live as an omega.”

I was grateful for Seong Chan-young’s wealth. Other omegas must be living with this inconvenience, but I became solemn to think that I could live this comfortably with my background and wealth.

“Seo Eun-soo, you’ve been bothered like this a lot, right? What did you do then?”

After taking a nap, I wanted to hear Seo Eun-soo’s story and whether he was still in bad condition. Through the original work, I knew the rough information, but I wanted to know the information from Seo Eun-soo, who lives and breathes in front of me, speaks directly.

“It was similar for me too. Because there were a lot of people who wanted a poor and powerless dominant omega. The alphas out there…… Among them, I was more fortunate than those who were born with the same conditions because Yoo Yi-seo claimed to be a supporter early on.”

However, it would not have been easy for Seo Eun-soo to live. I thought this brilliant and beautiful man actually needed care.

‘It’s not something I can fill you with.’

Still, there was hope that Seo Eun-soo would find the happiest ending. I hoped that someone who recognized his lack and could truly be with him would come, not the end of having to be with the gongs like in the original work.

With that wish, I told Seo Eun-soo.

“Seo Eun-soo will definitely be happy. I can bet on my fields.”

“All of a sudden? That’s a very grateful thing to say. I feel the same.”

Seo Eun-soo reached out to touch my cheek. What is this? The hand that gently swept down the cheek without taking time to do it took off the rice paste.

“I really hope so.”

He smiled brightly and shoveled the rice paste into his mouth, but somehow I got goosebumps.

Seo Eun-soo is a person who doesn’t allow anyone to leave even a single grain of rice. He said to eat it all, did he really mean that? Inwardly, I paid my respects to the true madness of practicing the importance of rice through action.

  1. Did he just accidentally admit to being an omega?

    1. He figured it out when the MC was affected by Moon’s pheromones. As a beta, MC shouldn’t have reacted, but he did. So he was playing among for MC’s sake.
