A record of a fairy experiment from hundreds of years ago in Hilderd, the Holy Empire.

It must have been confidential material in the Holy Empire.

She didn’t know how Kiern managed to steal those materials from the Holy Empire, but it was clear that if they were discovered, it would bring great chaos to the continent.

So, in order not to be found by anyone, he must have hidden it in the Black Forest.

Even enchanting the tree to hide it twice.

It was unbelievable.

Although Hilderd of the Holy Empire often behaved like a hypocrite, in the end, they were the ones who moved toward light, justice, and the path of lawful good.

If the fairies, who were considered heretical beings, were to be punished, they would be punished, but they wouldn’t experiment on captured fairies.

Isn’t it evident just by sending the “Fairy Queen’s Crown,” a holy relic, out of the Holy Empire?

If they had been experimenting on fairies, they would have already taken the crown apart and used it in their experiments.

Instead of ordering the fairies to be killed, they would have ordered them to be captured alive.

However, the Holy Knights and Holy Priests, including the Heresy Inquisitor, were always impatient to kill Chesha.

‘So this must be a secret unknown even within the Holy Empire.’

There was someone who strongly supported Chesha’s guess.

It was Hilon.

He had a strong, decisive side.

He did not particularly pursue absolute good, but he would not dare to dirty his hands with unnecessary evil.

So far, the only evil he had buried in his hands was the witch fairy Richesia.

He was not one to stand by and watch the Holy Empire cruelly experiment on fairies.

Hilon had the power, the authority, and the title to do what he believed was right.

‘But even Hilon doesn’t know.’

Perhaps, if the experiments from hundreds of years ago were still continuing…

At least a Cardinal or the Holy King himself.

Someone of that level must be secretly leading the experiment.

In this situation, it also roughly explained why Chesha had found it so terribly difficult to obtain information about the fairy experiment.

‘Because I’ve never even suspected the Holy Empire.’

Suddenly, Chesha felt disgusted.

Fairies are all possessors of strong minds.

It was because all the powers they had were connected to their minds.

The Fantasy Station was also an illusion created from the mind of the fairy.

So until now, nothing had happened to her that could make her ‘go mad.’

But the fairy who gave birth to Chesha had gone mad.

Perhaps she too had been subjected to something similar to the experiment described here—by those who believed in God.

Not being able to touch a single blade of grass or a single flower, and being confined in a hard, unyielding space.

Her blood drawn like an animal’s, and all sorts of painful things….

“….”

Chesha clenched her small teeth.

Butterflies that had been leisurely wandering in the Black Forest responded to their owner’s emotions and gathered all at once.

The sight of a flock of butterflies swirling swiftly like a whirlwind over the swaying flower garden was menacing

“Richesia-nim!”

Hata hurriedly crossed the flower field.

The little puppy looked at Chesha with trembling eyes.

They could understand each other’s thoughts without saying a word.

Chesha told him what he most wanted to hear.

“I’m fine.”

“But….”

“Really. I’m just a bit surprised.”

She thought she might have damaged the flowers, so she gently gathered the butterflies.

“…Phew.”

Everything was back to square one.

Rumor had it that among the three noble families of the empire, Count Basilian cruelly experimented on fairies—rumors that led Chesha to confront the family.

It seemed the rumors had been spread incorrectly, as Kiern was the one gathering information related to the fairy experiments.

‘Kiern is rather similar to me.’

For reasons unknown, he seemed to be in a similar position to Chesha, investigating the fairy experiments.

Perhaps it had something to do with the Fairy Queen’s Crown he wanted, but she couldn’t figure out why.

This was a question she wouldn’t be able to solve until she asked Kiern himself.

“Then should we investigate the Holy Empire now?”

Hata asked worriedly, noticing Chesha’s troubled expression.

Of course, even if the path Chesha was about to take led through hellfire, Hata would gladly follow.

But he was worried she might get hurt by the flames.

Chesha murmured slowly,

“Seem so.”

The way forward was blocked.

When she heard she would have to go to the Holy Empire for the Pre-saint Prayer meeting, she made a fuss about it.

And now she had to enter and investigate the Holy Empire on her own.

As a witch fairy, how could she get in and gather information while avoiding their strict security?

Nothing was easy.

‘Even so, for her to attend the Pre-saint Prayer meeting is…’

Before that, Kiern would find out she was the witch fairy, and her neck would be on the line.

Chesha, lost in thought, finally said,

“First, yet’s head back.”

It was a complicated situation, but one thing was clear:

There was nothing more to gain from Count Basilian.

It was truly time to leave.

That night,

Chesha went to Belzeon with Hata in her arms.

Of course, it was too much to walk to Belzeon’s office on foot in her tiny body.

So she asked a servant to carry her to where Belzeon was.

The servant who received Chesha’s request started saying nonsense again—

Like, “I won’t wash my hands all day today,” or “Holding Miss Chesha in my arms feels like a dream,” and so on

‘The servants here always say strange things whenever I ask them to carry me.’

But as long as she achieved her goal, it didn’t matter.

Chesha let them talk however they wanted.

“Miss Chesha has come to visit.”

The servant knocked on the office door and announced her arrival and after a brief silence inside, she was given permission to come in.

Chesha asked the servant to put her down, then she ran.

Belzeon, who was looking over papers at his desk, jumped up in surprise as she ran diligently on her short legs

“Hewow.”

Chesha grabbed the hem of her dress and said seriously,

“I habe something to tell.”

Then, she spread her two fingers apart for emphasis.

“Jus’ da two of us.”

“Just the two of us?”

Belzeon seemed taken aback, but Chesha insisted on what she wanted.

He sent out the secretary who was assisting him in the office and made sure the servants stayed away.

“What’s going on?”

Belzeon asked coldly.

Chesha wasn’t particularly offended because she knew it wasn’t because he disliked her. In fact, he really did have affection for her, he was just trying to push it away.‘Because we will be parting ways now anyway.’

Chesha got straight to the point.

“When will I leave?”

Didn’t he expect Chesha to say this first?

Belzeon’s eyes widened slightly.

He was silent for a moment, then slowly averted his gaze.

Without making eye contact with her, he replied,

“…It will be at dawn in two days.”

Belzeon’s voice was a little lower than usual as he said she had to leave before the banquet.

It seemed he had already planned everything and decided not to say a word to Chesha until the last moment, suddenly sending her out at dawn.

Well, what could a little baby do if he told her in advance?

If she couldn’t be persuaded and didn’t want to leave, she would only cause a fuss for no reason. So it was a reasonable decision.

“If you want something, you can take it with you.”

Belzeon offered her things like money and jewels.

But Chesha wanted only one thing.

She showed him Hata and said,

“I’m going to take the puppy.”

“…Is that all?”

“Yes!”

Belzeon looked at the dog and Chesha with a hard face.

His eyes twinkled faintly.

Then, he bit his lower lip.

It looked like he was holding something back.

“You can ask for more.”

He said, staring intently at Chesha.

“It means you can be greedy and ask Count Basilian to give you one of his properties.”
