Waiting For Your Reincarnation Chapter 68
The next day, Saeri calls the entire task force into the conference room.
When Yeon-young goes to the conference room early in the morning, she meets Jaeho at the door.
When she saw him, she slapped him on the back. She wondered why they’d been seeing each other so much lately.
Yeon-young remembered what happened during the kidnapping and thanked him.
“You planted the bracelet shield, didn’t you? It saved my life, thank you.”
“Stupid, I didn’t think you would use it so soon.”
“If you feel sorry for me, plant another one.”
“Why would I.”
Jaeho snorted and stalked back into the conference room.
She didn’t know if he was being nice or high.
Either way, thanking him formally calmed Yeon-young down.
She found a free seat and sat down.
One by one her teammates came in and filled the seats. Ryu Won took the seat next to her as if it was a given.
Saeri set her jaw and spoke of the mission as if it were a simple errand.
“Destroy the deformed snarl as soon as you find it.”
These days, the task force’s mission was to eliminate the Metamorphic Snarl.
When they first landed on Tanato, not every moment was a slippery slope.
They paid attention to the Snarl, but had no orders to eliminate it.
Now, however, the exponential growth of the population has put everyone on high alert.
The evolution of the Snarl has been endless.
From formless clouds to humanoid forms, the Snarl had evolved, and now the Phantoms had become Snarls themselves. It was the end.
“Lee Daeheon.”
Yeon-young recited the name of the mastermind behind the events.
Since his identity had been revealed, the Snarl had become bolder.
Now that he had no reason to hide, he destroyed every corner of the world.
She had heard that Zhaolin was retracing the Great One’s footsteps, but it didn’t seem to be working.
“We’re starting to see first-type Snarls on the outskirts of town, though we haven’t seen any second-type yet… We’d better be careful until things are finalized.”
The first type was a Snarl with a phantom appearance, and the second type was an advanced version of the first type with powers.
Zhaolin spoke with Saeri and organized what needed to be done.
“I’ll send a message to the village.”
“Yes, I’m retired, but the more help we can get from them, the better. Tell them to stay out of town as much as possible.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Let’s divide the team into two teams of two again. Sun Zhaolin – Jung Jaeho. And Kim Yeon-young – Han Ryu Won.”
Ryu Won sat cross-legged and listened to Saeri’s words.
The smooth upturned corners of his mouth showed that he was happy to be teamed up with Yeon-young.
Jaeho, on the other hand, frowned in disgust.
“I don’t like Sun Zhaolin. Change it to Kim Yeon-young…”
“You don’t know that a one-day puppy is scary.”
“Where did you learn that?”
“I learned it because I heard you’re Korean. Am I special?”
Ryu Won cut through Jaeho’s words with his eloquence and smiled pleasantly.
Feverishly, Jaeho formed a drop of water and threw it at him.
But Ryu Won dodged the attack with a slight shake of his head.
Yeon-young sighed as she looked at the increasingly chaotic conference room.
Saeri slammed his hands on the table.
“The workplace bully talks a lot. You should go with Zhaolin.”
“In that case, I’m also a victim of domestic violence. Can’t you see my hair?”
Zhaolin pointed to her beautiful orange hair, colored by the side effects of the power amplifier.
“If you go with Ryu Won, we’ll be one less person on the special team.”
There was no one in the room who hadn’t been a victim of Jung Jaeho’s domestic violence, except for Saeri.
Saeri’s ramblings were so reasonable that Zhaolin stopped throwing up.
It would be bad for the center to cut down on high-level personnel now.
Saeri explained the mission in detail.
“Three Snarls found on the outskirts of the city. They are all Variant 1 Snarls. One on the left and two on the right. Since they’re Type 1 Snarls, I need you to take them out as soon as you find them.”
“You’re the youngest, you go to the left. We’ll go right.”
“I want to go left.”
“Okay, let’s do that.”
Ryu Won and Zhaolin came to a decision, dismissing Jaeho’s casual interjections as if they were watered down.
“Okay, it’s decided. And Yeon-young, take this.”
Saeri gestured to Yeon-young, and with a few movements of her hand, dirt rose from the ground and formed a pistol.
She picked it up and smelled the fragrant earth.
Yeon-young eyed the smaller pistol suspiciously.
“It’s about time you developed it. You’re a ghost, so if something happens, use it.”
“Can I just shoot it?”
“Yes, shoot. But do you know how to shoot a gun?”
“I never learned, but…”
“Big deal. See that empty flowerpot over there? Aim for it and shoot.”
Saeri pointed to a white pot in the far corner of the room.
At her words, Yeon-young carefully picked up the gun and aimed at the pot in the corner of the room.
Before she knew it, Ryu Won was standing behind her, instructing her how to use the gun.
She did as he said, lowered the safety, closed her left eye and slowly pulled the trigger.
Bam!
With a huge, unexpected explosion, Yeon-Young’s body was pulled backwards.
Ryu Won shielded her with his back as white clay fragments flew in all directions.
It all happened in the blink of an eye.
“Hmph.”
“Are you okay?”
“Yep. I’m fine, but Ryu Won isn’t.”
“Meh.”
Saeri asked her opinion of the weapon, her eyes twinkling like a puppy’s.
“It’s powerful, perfect for killing cockroaches.”
“Who shoots cockroaches to kill them?”
“What the hell.”
Yeon-young wiped her brow and surveyed the chaotic conference room.
Her aim was excellent for a first-time shooter.
She had hit the mark.
But the sheer power of Saeri’s weapon had torn through the floor and the wall in the corner of the room.
“It’s necessary, this isn’t the physical world.”
“Ha.”
For a moment, she felt stupid for doubting the power of the weapon.
Ryu Won didn’t seem to care that he almost got hurt.
Yeon-young tugged the cuff of Ryu Won’s uniform to thank him.
“Thank you, Mr. Ryu Won.”
“This gun. Ms. Yeon-young won’t need to use it.”
Saeri, who had heard Ryu Won’s vow, interrupted the conversation.
Under the lights of the conference room, Saeri’s golden eyes shone unusually bright today.
Saeri pointed to Yeon-young’s belt and motioned for her to grab her weapon.
“Yeon-young.”
“What?”
“If the day comes when you have to use it, don’t hesitate to shoot. I want you to live long this time.”
At Saeri’s sudden seriousness, Yeon-young swallowed hard and nodded.
Seeing her unspoken reaction, Saeri gave her a gentle smile.
Yeon-young checked the fit of her uniform as she buckled her weapon to her belt.
Only now did she realize that she was officially part of the special team.
After a brief handover, the team split into teams one and two and headed to their respective areas.
The area on the left was on the outskirts of town, but the atmosphere was electric because of its proximity to the mountains to the west.

Even under the clear sky of the stormy eve, there was a tension in the silence.
Yeon-young rubbed the surface of the pistol on her belt several times in vain.
“Mr. Ryu Won, the fog is getting thicker.”
“Yes, we’ll probably meet it soon, I can feel its aura.”
If this was characteristic of Snarl’s encounters, it was also characteristic of the smoke around him.
Yeon-young’s nerves were on edge, and her right hand moved to the weapon on her belt.
If the time came to use it, she wouldn’t hesitate.
Even though the Type 1 Snarl was a relatively easy creature to catch, her anxiety was rising today.
She had a bad feeling about this.
In the distance, she could see black cloud fragments mingling with the turbid smoke.
The cloud fragments gathered together like reassembling blocks, slowly forming a human shape.
“You’re right, Mr. Chairman, it’s the first variant of Snarl.”
“It’s in the back.”
Boom!
As if Ryu Won wasn’t about to throw away the slightest bit of prey, he bound the Snarl with wind as soon as he spotted it.
It stopped the Snarl in the air before it could fully assume its human form.
Trusting Ryu Won, she closed her eyes for a moment and focused on the Snarl.
A core flickered on the Snarl’s right shoulder, emitting black light.
“Mr. Ryu Won, right shoulder.”
Ryu Won smiled and praised Yeon-young’s assistance.
However, at that moment, the black light that had been flickering steadily began to flicker irregularly, and then it seemed to engulf his entire body.
“Huh? Did the core turn his body into…?”
The black light escaped from the Snarl’s body as his power faltered slightly.
Then, in a flash, it engulfed Yeon-young.
“Ugh.”
“Yeon-young!”
Yeon-young could only clutch her head with her hands as the sensation of sticky pus filled her head.
