“I’m bored.”

Yeon-young lay on the bed in her room, rolling from side to side.

Tanato’s warm sunlight tickled her face through the porthole window.

It had been forcibly opened again a few days ago. No one knew why.

All they knew was that on that day she had summoned the memories of every soul in the center, and that she was in danger of going into shock.

“It was like a swamp.”

She doesn’t remember much about that time.

All she remembers is the feeling of walking through a swamp with no end in sight.

The memories were random, sometimes forcing her to see images, sometimes following her relentlessly.

She couldn’t control her powers and the weight of the memories overwhelmed her.

For the first time, she was afraid to use her powers.

She was afraid to use her powers for the first time because she realized with a powerful realization that the power in her body was greater than she thought, and that the vessel to contain it had yet to be created.

“And Snarl’s memories.”

The raw, unfiltered memories were particularly unpleasant.

Anyway, that’s why the decision was made by her.

Everyone in the team wanted Yeon-young to return to work. Of course, Ryu Won was the most vocal.

Originally, she was supposed to stay in the center’s stable room, but Ryu Won was against it.

“The center is bad, it’s full of negative energy, let’s go home.”

“There are only spirits here, so of course there’s no positive energy, and where did you learn that?”

“You have to be careful not to eat energy right now.”

“Ha.”

“Yeon-young, you’d better take care of yourself. I don’t know what to do if you fall down again.”

The members of the special team agreed to share Yeon-young’s duties.

It was cool because she’d never had this kind of help before, but she was willing to accept the camaraderie with gratitude.

In retrospect, Ryu Won had only made a good suggestion.

If the center were to retrieve the memories of so many souls, Yeon-young would not be able to last much longer.

As a result, Yeon-young’s project to find her own place was put on hold.

In his opinion, in her current state, she would never be able to get out on her own.

Yeon-young decided to respect Ryu Won’s opinion. She didn’t want to see Ryu Won die alone and lonely.

From that day on, Ryu Won’s mood was light.

On the day that Yeon-young’s care was decided, Ryu Won took her to her room and muttered to himself.

“I will be your faithful nurse.”

“I don’t need it.”

“I’ll take care of everything without you having to lift a finger.”

“I don’t need it.”

“Why not, what if you suddenly fall down again?”

“What?”

“What if this house collapses and you get hurt?”

“Just say you want to look after me.”

“I want to. We didn’t even get to enjoy our honeymoon together.”

His commitment to being a conscientious carer was pretty good.

True to his word that she wouldn’t have to lift a finger, Yeon-young never left the room.

Ryu Won smiles generously as he watches her eat the food he brings her in bed.

“We should really do this.”

“What?”

“I will make money for you, feed you and love you.”

“When do I go out?”

“Whenever.”

This conversation took place a few days ago.

“Imprisonment.”

It was too peaceful for that.

Yeon-young got up from her seat, knowing that when he came back, they’d have to talk about his starting date.

Knock-knock!

She didn’t have to open the door to know who was knocking.

Ryu Won entered Yeon-Young’s room, neatly dressed in his center uniform.

A light breeze blew around him.

“Are you going to the center?”

“Yes. It’s an urgent request.”

“Is it serious?”

“Not really, but I need to get away from Yeon-young for a while.”

“You’re going to make a lot of money.”

“Do you think I should retire?”

“Suddenly?”

“I think it’s the perfect time to retire.”

“I need to make money.”

“Why do you need to earn money, I have it.”

“Aren’t you going to work?”

“Just goodbye? No kisses?”

As Yeon-young turned to leave, he shrugged and blocked her way.

His forehead was furrowed, as if he didn’t really want to go to work.

He handed her some water and two golden pills on a tray.

Yeon-young took the pills and swallowed them with the water. Then he took a candy out of his uniform coat and casually popped it into her mouth.

“Aren’t you a bit too healthy for a ghost who’s supposed to be recovering?”

“Er, Ms. Zhaolin, how can I help you?”

Zhaolin, who had been standing in the doorway watching the scene with a quizzical expression on her face, broke the peaceful atmosphere.

Yeon-young couldn’t hide a smile at the familiar face she hadn’t seen in a long time.

Zhaolin also silently scanned the room, unable to resist spitting at the smiling face.

“I was called, though I didn’t want to come.”

“Ms. Yeon-young, while I’m gone, Zhaolin will take care of you.”

“Are you serious?”

Ryu Won must have heard Yeon-young’s words about not needing care.

He stared at her, wondering why she would lie to him. It was a lie.

Yeon-young stared into his sunset eyes.

“Ms. Zhaolin, tell me something.”

“Do you think I’m such an impatient soul? Be quiet when I say I’ll do it for you.”

Zhaolin’s words stunned Yeon-young, leaving her speechless.

She should have let Zhaolin go, as she clearly did not need to be taken care of.

But Ryu Won’s words were so unreasonable that she couldn’t help but agree.

Ryu Won glared at Yeon-young as if to tell her to shut up.

“Uh… yes. Thank you.”

“Ms. Yeon-young, I’ll be back before nightfall, so if you have any orders, give them to Zhaolin, I’ll be back.”

“Please be careful.”

“Take care.”

Ryu Won smiled languidly as he thought about and savored Yeon-young’s farewell several times in his mind.

Then he opened the teleport and stepped inside.

Once Ryu Won was gone, the room fell silent.

Looking at Zhaolin, Yeon-young remembered the last thing she had seen in the conference room.

“Ah, the pendant.”

“What pendant?”

“I picked up the pendant before I collapsed, but I wonder where it went.”

“It belonged to the chairman, so I checked it and gave it to her.”

“Aha. I’m glad you found the owner.”

Yeon-young nodded slightly, her curiosity satisfied.

Zhaolin was silent for a moment, then spoke to Yeon-young.

“Are you two in a relationship?”

“No?”

“But you do live together?”

“There are a lot of circumstances…”

“Anyway, just to clarify, are you incarcerated here?”

“Medical treatment, nominally.”

“Is this a situation where I need to get you out?”

“Probably not.”

“Well, stand up.”

As if on cue, Zhaolin grabbed Yeon-young’s arm and pulled her out of bed.

Before she could finish getting ready, Zhaolin opened a teleport with her necklace and jumped in.

The sudden influx of light made her feel sick.

Yeon-young put her hand over her mouth and held her breath.

“Ms. Zhaolin, where are we going?”

“As far as I can tell, this isn’t a problem that can be solved by locking ourselves in a room.”

After passing through the unknown, they landed in the center’s training grounds.

It was just after mid-afternoon, so there were more spirits in the training grounds than expected.

All eyes were on Yeon-young and Zhaolin, who had suddenly appeared from the sky.

“Ms. Zhaolin, I don’t think I should be here, I don’t think I have the ability…”

Just like in the conference room, she could feel her ability raging from the depths of her stomach again.

The voices of the spirits mixed with Yeon-young’s eerie aura.

Memories of other spirits seeped into her head one by one.

“You can push it. Don’t be afraid of what you have.”

Zhaolin’s firm voice cut through the confusion.

“Take a deep breath, visualize the raging energy in your stomach, and then press down hard with something heavy.”

It wouldn’t work anyway.

At this point, it made the most sense to follow her advice.

One by one, Yeon-young dismissed the memories that came into her mind, pushing them away.

She searched for the core of power radiating from her mind.

To her surprise, the memories slowly blurred before her eyes and she could see the pink aura of power moving through her body.

The energy moved like a fish swimming in the ocean.

Yeon-young pressed the floating energy into her body like she was making a rice ball, trying to force it to come together in one place.

“Please…”

With great concentration, she pressed the energy down bit by bit, and to her surprise, it gathered into a ball in the center of her right wrist.

And then, for a moment, the noise fell silent.

The memories that had been flooding in were completely blocked.

When she opened her eyes, the memories that threatened to crush her were gone, and she saw nothing but the training grounds.

“Ms. Zhaolin.”

“This is how to block an ability. It’s harder to block and reduce an ability than it is to open it. Once you learn how to block it, you won’t have any problems.”

“How to block…”

“I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.”

“What?”

“Sun Zhaolin, what do you think you’re doing?”

A low, raspy voice sounded as an icy wind blew through the training grounds.

Ryu Won, who had gone to work, stood at the entrance of the training center with a terrifying air.
