Waiting For Your Reincarnation Chapter 85
Yeon-young pressed a hand to the corners of her eyes to calm them.
Maybe she was seeing things wrong.
Yeon-young focused her gaze on WooJin’s throat once more.
But contrary to her wishes, the new currents surrounding Woojin’s core were clearly Ryu Won’s.
She felt her vision blur with confusion.
Why was Woojin’s core imbued with Ryu Won’s power, and where had they met?
She turned to look at Ryu Won, who was deep in conversation with a support staff member.
Now that she thought about it, he hadn’t reacted at all to her surprise at seeing Woojin in the lobby of Branch 4.
He’s uncomfortable with the situation, but he doesn’t find Yeon-young’s reaction to him strange.
Why?
Woojin scratched the back of his neck and looked at Yeon-young, who was frozen.
“Have you run into Mr. Ryu Won before? No, have you?”
“The tall, handsome, white-haired man over there?”
“Yes.”
“No, I haven’t. I’m meeting him for the first time today.”
“Do you have any powers?”
Tilting his head slightly at Yeon-young’s question, Woojin extended his hand.
After a moment’s hesitation, Yeon-young took his hand.
Then she felt the faintest hint of electricity on her fingertips. It was a tingling sensation, as if a very thin needle had pierced her flesh.
“It’s electricity, though I don’t know if it’s useful since it’s so weak.”
“Ah…”
“Ms. Laurendia said it’s weak because I haven’t adjusted to my ability yet.”
She let out a small sigh at the thought of Ryu Won’s different abilities. Still, her questions were not completely answered.
There was silence again between them.
She was deep in thought. Woojin didn’t push her, but waited.
Yeon-young’s share. Yeon-young thought back to the topic of the share. She had a hunch that she had to use Woojin now to get a clue.
Biting down hard on her lower lip, she tightened her grip on Woojin’s hand and asked.
“Do you remember anything about your past life?”
“Ah, now that you mention it, Yeon-young, you said you have all your memories.”
“That’s right…, although I don’t know if that’s true.”
“I really don’t remember anything.”
“Well…, do you mind if I read your memories?”
“My memories?”
“Yes. You can say no if you don’t want to.”
Yeon-young swallowed dryly. Woojin lowered his gaze to her hand.
She suddenly realized she’d been squeezing his hand too hard.
She tried to loosen her grip and pull away, but Woojin’s hand caught her wrist.
“I’m curious, too,” he replied, his eyes full of curiosity.
“What?”
“I mean, just check my memory, it’s okay.”
He gave a small nod of his head with a smug look on his face. He gave her permission to read the memory.
Yeon-young closed her eyes and focused on her core on her right wrist.
A light pink power slowly seeped through her body and into Woojin’s.
She opened her closed eyes. Before her was a stream so clear she could see through it.
It was the space in Woojin’s memory.
She approached the stream with careful steps. There were stones of all sizes in the water.
As she slowly put her hand under the water and pulled up one of the stones, an image flashed through her mind.
These stones were all memories of Woojin.
Yeon-young found the shiniest stone in the stream and picked it up again, and without any effort, the memories played as a video.
“Oh, me?”
Yeon-young’s eyes widened at the unexpected appearance.
The most memorable moment in Woojin’s memory was the first time he saw her.
While he was stunned by the unexpected turn of events, he saw a twenty-year-old Yeon-young in the distance.
At 20, she was fresh and young. Her luscious black hair, which had never been dyed, attracted the attention of everyone around her.
Woojin was drawn to her, too. He followed her with his eyes.
But that was it. Unlike Yeon-young’s memory, Woojin just stood there and stared at her.
As Yeon-young took a step or two toward him, her face became clearer and clearer.
“What?”
Yeon-young, watching from behind Woojin, couldn’t hide her shock.
She blinked rapidly in disbelief and took a step forward.
Behind Yeon-young, she could see Ryu Won in his black uniform.
She couldn’t figure out why she suddenly saw him.
He followed Yeon-young as relentlessly as a bee following a flower, and she didn’t even realize it as she strode across campus with a coy smile on her face.
Ryu Won stuck close to her back, unwilling to let go.
“What are you doing out there?”
Ryu Won kept a nonchalant expression on his face as he followed behind Yeon-young.
As they walked down the street, Yeon-young tripped over a protruding block and almost fell, but the wind kept her centered.
Ryu Won didn’t grab her by the hand, however.
“How long have you been following me?”
Several times he reached out for Yeon-young, but not once did he touch her.
Ryu Won looked at his clenched hands and ran a hand through his hair. He looked like he was holding something back.
Then Woojin walked into his line of sight. Woojin wasn’t sure if he made eye contact with Ryu Won.
As he stared into Woojin’s piercing blue eyes, Ryu Won alternated his gaze with his own body.
Then he slowly walked toward Woojin with a leisurely pace and jumped up.
Woojin could see Ryu Won’s form slowly seeping into his body.
“He can’t be…”
Clutching his temples, Woojin slowly raised his head, a white light flickering behind his jet-black eyes.
The light settled near the base of Woojin’s throat. Ryu Won had possessed Woojin’s body.
Without hesitation, he walked over to Yeon-young and extended his hand.
“Hello?”
As he touched her shoulder, he greeted her with a smile as warm as the midday sun.
It was the first moment Yeon-young remembered who Woojin was.
The first memory of Woojin faded, and she was standing alone by the stream again.
“This is crazy. What happened?”
The sudden onslaught of information left Yeon-young stunned.
Now she understood why she had felt Ryu Won’s energy inside Woojin.
‘How far had Ryu Won gotten into Yeon-young’s life?’
Before she could finish organizing her thoughts, Woojin’s memory showed her another scene.
This time, it involved Yeon-young.
On a drowsy afternoon, Woojin and Yeon-young were sitting across from each other in a cafe.
Yeon-young remembered the day. A famous romance fantasy series movie had come out, and she had gone to see it.
She had gone to the cafe to eat her favorite tteokbokki and escape the heat.
“There he is again.”
To Yeon-young’s right, Ryu Won sat with his arms crossed and looked at her.
She didn’t realize it, but she was staring out the window with one hand on her chin.
Woojin was also on his cell phone in front of Yeon-young.
Ryu Won tapped his fingers on the table in disgust.
Finally, Ryu Won couldn’t take it anymore and jumped back into Woojin’s body.
“Yeon-young.”
“Huh?”
Woojin’s voice pulled Yeon-young back to reality.
He reached into his pants pocket, pulled out something, and held it out to her.
Yeon-young’s eyes widened, and she held out her hands in disbelief.
In her hands was a pink thread bracelet.
“What, this is the one you said you wanted me to have. When did you get it?”
“It’s supposed to bring good luck. Hold out your arm.”
Yeon-young stretched out her slender, straight arm.
Woojin slipped the bracelet onto her wrist, trying to hide his trembling fingertips.
Yeon-young couldn’t help but smile at the cute thread bracelet adorning her wrist.
She carefully fastened it, never taking her eyes off the bracelet.
“Ah…”
Yeon-young’s heartbeat echoed in her ears with a small sigh.
It thumped regularly, as if to show off that it was alive.
Woojin pressed his hand to his chest. The sound came from his heart as he watched her smile.
“Finally. I wanted you to have it.”
“Didn’t I tell you this the other day?”
“Don’t lose it.”
“Of course not, you gave it to me.”
“If I disappear, this bracelet will guide you.”
“Where are you going?”
“No, just…”
In that moment, Yeon-young was sure who this heartbeat belonged to.
Woojin looked sad, a sad expression that didn’t seem like him at times.
A face that wasn’t on the verge of tears, but looked like it could spill over at any moment.
A warm smile that Yeon-young loved nonetheless.
Ryu Won was making his presence known in front of Woojin.
Yeon-young touched her heated ear with her numb fingertips.
It seemed that the man she had loved in her previous life was not Woojin, but Ryu Won, who possessed Woojin.
