How Lilies turn Black Chapter 32 - The Rabble of West Peal (6)

The smile vanished from Silvano’s face.

“Who do you think you are to give me permission?”

“…”

“This was mine whether you said I could take it or not, you balding bastard.”

As his words hung heavily in the air, the room fell into a chilling silence.

The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He must have realized that trying to appease Silvano would only make things worse.

Meanwhile, Silvano, having lost his enthusiasm, finally stopped dancing. He pulled up a chair and sat down, facing the bed.

The upbeat music continued to play in the background… but the couple remained frozen, unable to utter a word.

Silvano watched them with disinterest before finally speaking.

“I came here today to kill Fabrizio Ballini.”

As soon as his declaration was made, the woman burst into tears.

“P-please… take everything here… just let us live…”

“…”

“M-money too… everything…”

Her sobbing did nothing to stir Silvano’s sympathy. The louder her cries became, the colder his expression grew.

Fortunately, before Silvano reached the limit of his patience, Fabrizio stepped forward.

“I won’t ask who sent you…”

His voice was calmer now.

“But the fact that you’re talking to us like this suggests there’s room for negotiation. Am I right?”

It was a decent attempt at rational conversation rather than emotional pleading.

But his opponent was Silvano. There was no way such a reasonable approach would work.

“You’re out of your mind. Hey, you idiot. You’ve been talking like you’re in control, but you’re not the one negotiating here.”

Silvano, unable to contain his rising irritation, roughly ran a hand over his face.

“You’re dead no matter what. The one I’m negotiating with is your wife, who wasn’t even part of my original plan.”

“…Hic!”

The woman burst into tears again. The man, holding her tightly, desperately shouted,

“Spare my wife. You said you only came to kill me.”

“Wow, what a love story.”

Silvano raised his eyebrows in mock admiration. He even clapped a few times, but it was clear to anyone watching that their desperation meant nothing to him.

“Then, shall we check if your wife feels the same way about this passionate love?”

The couple, still clinging to each other, flinched and looked up. Silvano stood up lazily and jerked his chin.

“Lady! Come here.”

“…”

A mix of anxiety and confusion filled their gazes as they looked at him. The woman, frozen in fear, was about to plead with tears in her eyes when—

“Get over here before I put a bullet in your head.”

Another threatening remark was thrown her way.

Finally, the woman swallowed her sobs and began fumbling through the pile of clothes scattered on the floor.

The situation couldn’t have been worse. None of the clothes were hers, and the time Silvano spent waiting grew longer…

Eventually, he lost his patience, shaking his head and cursing loudly.

“Damn it, I don’t give a shit about some old lady’s naked body. Just get over here, will you?”

The woman’s face turned deathly pale. She scrambled off the bed as if she had never hesitated in the first place.

Silvano watched her approach with satisfaction and pulled out two guns.

“Here, take a look at this.”

“Hic…! P-please spare me—”

“Listen to me if you want to live.”

“Y-yes…!”

The woman, tears and snot streaming down her face, nodded frantically. Her pitiful, almost groveling demeanor made Fabrizio clench his fists and grind his teeth.

Just as he was about to make a move toward the nightstand, Silvano, without even looking up, calmly warned him.

“I’d appreciate it if you stayed still.”

“If you try anything stupid, there’ll be no more negotiating.”

“…”

The room fell silent as if water had been poured over it. The music had already ended, and the only sound was the terrifying click of Silvano loading his gun.

“Alright, lady.”

Finally, having finished loading, he pressed one of the guns against her forehead and whispered.

“Turn around and face your husband.”

“Hic… sob…”

The woman sobbed, but she must have realized there was no other choice with a gun pointed at her head.

As the woman helplessly turned around, Silvano placed the remaining gun in her hand.

“Hold it and aim.”

Only then did the woman realize what Silvano was asking her to do. She turned to him in horror.

“P-please… why are you doing this…!”

“Look forward.”

“I-I’ll do anything else—”

“Ugh, damn it.”

Silvano cut her off, pressing the gun harder against her forehead.

“Honestly, I should kill you too, but it’s been a while since I’ve done something like this, so I’m feeling generous.”

“Please… spare me…”

“That’s why I’m giving you a chance. Do this for me, okay? I’ll let you live without a word.”

He flashed her a smile, though it was more for his own amusement than any genuine kindness.

To her, it was nothing short of terrifying.

“…You bastard!”

Suddenly, Fabrizio twisted his body in anger.

It was strange how he had been glancing at the nightstand earlier.

By the time Silvano fixed his gaze on him, Fabrizio had already opened the nightstand drawer…

Though it was hard to see in the dark, his actions suggested there was another gun inside.

Bang—!

A deafening gunshot rang out. It was unclear who had fired.

“Ugh!”

“Ahhh!”

Amid the screams, Silvano didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger again.

Bang!

The pristine bedsheets were splattered with bright red blood, and chunks of flesh scattered across the floor.

In an instant, Fabrizio lost both of his hands.

And the one who carried it all out without so much as blinking was…

“See what happens when you don’t listen?”

Silvano muttered wearily, pressing the gun back against the woman’s head.

“Let’s save at least one life before I change my mind, shall we?”

He was the only one maintaining his composure in the room.

“Ahhh! Honey…!”

The woman, witnessing such brutal carnage for the first time, collapsed to the floor, letting out a bloodcurdling scream.

To make matters worse, Fabrizio’s agonized cries filled the house. If it weren’t for the raging storm outside, the police would have surely arrived by now.

“Ah, ugh… Paola, take the gun… Haa, ha… It’s okay.”

Fabrizio, having lost both his hands and his will to fight, struggled to speak while clinging to consciousness.

“Y-you… haa… have to live…”

His groans continued endlessly, and blood gushed from the mangled stumps of his wrists.

It was a horrifying sight that would make anyone nauseous, but of course, it had no effect on Silvano. The only thing that impressed him was Fabrizio’s sacrificial plea.

“It’s enough to bring tears to my eyes.”

“Keep your… promise… Ugh! Spare Paola…”

Despite the desperate plea filled with pain, Silvano simply shrugged.

“Your wife has to do something for me to keep my promise. Isn’t that right?”

“Haa, ha… Paola, hurry… I’m fine, ugh! You… have to live…!”

Begging for death. What a beautiful and noble love.

Silvano watched it all with great satisfaction before slowly bending down toward the woman.

“Well, madam. Your husband is pleading so earnestly.”

“Ah, ah… God…”

“Now she’s calling for God.”

He couldn’t help but chuckle. However, his patience for coaxing and comforting her was wearing thin, and he let out an irritated sigh.

“Cry enough and get up already.”

He still had others to deal with. He couldn’t wait forever for her to pull herself together.

Silvano forcibly pulled the woman up from where she had collapsed on the floor. She seemed to have lost all will, rising limply like a paper doll.

“Come on, come on. We don’t have much time.”

Silvano reloaded the gun for her and winked with his left eye.

Tears welled up in the woman’s eyes again as she looked at him… but all she saw was the man tilting his head innocently.

“Don’t want to? Should I do it instead?”

That would be just as horrifying for her. She couldn’t even imagine how brutally she would die after Fabrizio.

Silvano understood that psychology all too well. He whispered to the woman, who was trembling as she held the gun, like a devil.

“If you’re going to do it, hurry up. I’m not a very patient person.”

“Pa-Paola… please, it’s okay, hic! Shoot me…”

Fabrizio’s wailing only spurred Silvano on.

With a smile of delight, he turned his back to her, leaving the woman no choice but to finally place her finger on the trigger.

There had never been any other choice from the beginning. Kill or be killed. That was all.

“Hic, hic… Honey, honey… I’m sorry, I…”

The barrel aimed at Fabrizio shook uncontrollably.

It wasn’t as if pinpoint accuracy mattered to her. She chose to close her eyes and see nothing.

A single hot tear streamed down from beneath her closed lashes.

And finally,

Bang—!

A .45 caliber bullet tore through the air and slammed into his abdomen.
