The Sweet Alpha Crown Prince Loves Me So Much Chapter 137
Chapter 137
Instead of the cluttered main building, Carl and Adrian unpacked in the annex and decided to wait for Leia and Belfry in the sunny garden.
They couldn’t even feel disappointed, as Leia and Belfry were currently the busiest people in the castle.
In a place that, though smaller in scale, was surprisingly similar to the garden of Heineken’s imperial palace, Adrian reminisced about the day he had abruptly asked Carl Lindbergh to bear his child.
“Remember? When I asked you to bear my child, you spilled tea on your trousers.”
Carl burst out laughing.
How could he forget?
“Just thinking about it now still makes me dizzy. I was so sure you were going to ask to marry my sister.”
He could laugh it off now, but at the time, the shock had been immense.
He had never imagined a novel with such a world-setting could exist.
Adrian’s eyes were full of mischief.
“What did you say back then? ‘You haven’t even dated yet, isn’t that a bit much?’ I’ll say it now, but you looked at me like I was a complete scoundrel.”
He feigned grievance, clutching his chest, saying Carl had stared at him with wide-open eyes as if to rebuke him, ‘How dare you try to snatch away my innocent sister like that?’
“Even then, all I could think about was getting along with you.”
Carl pinched Adrian’s cheek.
Adrian pressed his cheek against that palm and kissed it, then took the hand and held it firmly on the table.
“I couldn’t help it. My sister was only twenty-one. I know that being a crown prince means dating and marrying isn’t as straightforward as it is for commoners, but I didn’t want to force her into a political marriage as if she were being sold off.”
Besides, his sister had developed a loathing for people, trapped among the rotten nobles of Lindbergh, including her own father.
“Still, I had hoped that if I just put you two together, you would somehow fall in love.”
Because I thought you were the one who could make her happy.
Carl smiled sheepishly, gently tracing the calluses on Adrian’s palm, which were hardened from wielding a sword, with his fingertips.
“Still have that dream of opening a bakery?”
Carl raised an eyebrow at Adrian’s teasing question.
“The thought of leaving the imperial family has disappeared, but opening a bakery inside the palace as a hobby would be nice.”
Carl’s eyes were full of hope as he spoke of wanting a place where knights and servants could come and go, sit down for coffee and bread, and maybe even collect money for the ingredients to donate.
“Hmm, the first male empress in the empire’s history to bake bread. Doesn’t sound bad.”
The knights who were eavesdropping on the sweet conversation of the two from a short distance away pricked up their ears.
“I’m not saying I definitely want to do it, just that it’s ‘worth a try.’”
Adrian shook his head at Carl’s words not to take it seriously.
“No, it’s a really good idea. To begin with, there were no separate rest facilities for the servants inside the palace. They either rested on their own in their work areas or went back to their quarters to rest.”
As generations passed, the threshold of the imperial palace had lowered, but the treatment of the servants remained stuck in the old days, Adrian said.
“No matter how open-minded His Majesty Glenn is, I don’t think he’d be too fond of such a petit-bourgeois, no, a commoner-like opinion.”
“He doesn’t like it when members of the imperial family adopt a commoner-like attitude, but he will gladly listen to an attitude that is for the commoners.”
At Adrian’s words that he would be happy enough if Carl found a hobby he could enjoy inside the palace, Carl placed a light kiss on his cheek.
“Feeling better?”
“I’ve been in a good mood for a while.”
Adrian offered his other cheek and asked, but Carl didn’t oblige him this time.
He had kissed him impulsively out of affection, only to become conscious of his surroundings a moment later.
An Alpha and an Omega. A compatible pair.
A partner with whom he could walk in step, looking in the same direction, even if they weren’t perfectly identical.
For Carl Lindbergh, who had come to welcome him as his life partner, his heart was clear yesterday, today, and would be tomorrow.
“Can I ask one more thing?”
Adrian, who had been grinning for a moment, asked while fidgeting with Carl’s hand.
“What is it?”
After hearing Carl Lindbergh’s confession-like story, Adrian had become full of questions, like a child who had just learned to speak.
“What does it feel like to have to accept a man with a man’s body?”
At the unexpected question, Carl stopped laughing and froze.
“I was just suddenly curious, since you’d never considered someone of the same sex as a romantic partner before.”
The whispered voice, as if afraid someone might hear, was closer to anxiety than curiosity. How on earth had Carl Lindbergh come to accept Adrian?
It wasn’t that he doubted his love. It was a more fundamental question: whether his instincts had wanted to love a woman. Even after they had imprinted, the anxiety flared up.
Carl Lindbergh unwittingly glanced at Adrian’s crotch.
His Alpha was perfect from every angle, but he knew all too well that his true magnificence was hidden beneath his clothes, so he himself had been wondering how he had come to accept that without any resistance.
“At first, well, my body had become an Omega anyway, so I thought it was that instinct wanting you, but…”
Carl fumbled to organize the words floating around in his head.
“But?”
Adrian asked again, growing impatient.
Carl Lindbergh smiled, then slowly looked Adrian up and down and gripped his hand tightly.
“Thinking about it now, I think I fell for you a little at the very beginning.”
What did he see?
A clear question mark appeared in Adrian’s eyes.
“Because you were so kind. Even though it was a give-and-take relationship for something we wanted, you talked with me, made eye contact with me, and never once dismissed my opinions.”
I’d never received that kind of affection in my life.
A big, fierce beast who was gentle only to him.
How could he not love him.
Assimilated by the pheromones flowing from Carl Lindbergh, carrying his vivid emotions, Adrian rubbed the corner of his eye.
“And…”
Carl Lindbergh glanced around quickly and brought his lips to Adrian’s ear.
“Doing it with you… it feels really good. Sometimes it hurts, but it’s mostly fucking amazing.”
At the whispered words, Adrian squeezed his eyes shut. Tonight, Carl Lindbergh would writhe and cry out in pleasure.
***
“Aaaaaaaargh.”
Belfry clutched his head.
What rotten luck. The goddess has a terrible personality.
Why was it that Belfry always had to witness their displays of affection head-on?
‘ The sin of setting the Crown Prince’s heart on fire and running away [1] .’
Recalling that day’s line made his stomach churn as if he had eaten a hundred spoonfuls of butter.
“What are you doing? Not going?”
Leia Lindbergh, who had been following behind, grabbed Belfry’s shoulder.
Startled, Belfry pouted as he watched the two people in the distance, who had been holding hands and talking, now blushing simultaneously.
“I don’t want to disturb those two right now.”
“Look at these goosebumps,” Belfry said, rolling up his sleeve.
“Aha.”
Leia fought back the urge to bite Belfry’s white forearm and turned a sharp glare on the innocent lovebirds.
“Whoa, Princess!”
Before Belfry could stop her, Leia Lindbergh strode briskly towards the two.
“Carl Lindbergh.”
“Ah, sister.”
Leia Lindbergh crossed her arms and plopped down in the seat across from them.
“It’s been a while, sister. You’ve been through a lot, haven’t you?”
Carl raised his voice in welcome, but when Leia’s eyes flashed instead of returning his greeting, he laughed awkwardly and scratched his head.
“Y-You cut your hair. It looks good on you.”
“Thank you. But isn’t there something you should say before that?”
Carl, who had a guilty conscience, mumbled, “I’m sorry.”
“Do I have to worry about the whereabouts of my grown-up little brother? A child who is about to sit in a position others wouldn’t even dare to approach?”
At Leia’s words, Carl hung his head low.
“I’m truly sorry for making you worry.”
“As long as you know. Still, it’s a relief you returned safely, but if you do it again next time…”
“Ah, why are you being like this, Princess? It’s been a long time since you’ve seen each other; you should be a little happier.”
Belfry suddenly interjected.
He had followed hurriedly, gave Adrian only a nod of greeting, and sat down naturally next to Leia.
There were six seats at the round table.
The Crown Prince and Carl Lindbergh sat side by side, and Leia sat in the seat facing Carl. Normally, Belfry Hendrick would have stood behind the Crown Prince and only sat nearby when told to.
‘Hmm?’
What’s more, when Belfry had chided Leia, hadn’t she openly smoothed the frown on her brow?
Adrian’s eyebrows twitched at the unusual energy flowing between the two.
“Let’s not raise our voices in such a nice place. Oh, Your Highness. You’ve been through a lot.”
“Not at all, I deserve to be scolded more. I’m sorry to you too, Young Lord.”
Half apologetic for causing worry, half grateful to those who worried about him, Carl bowed his head. Belfry waved his hand dismissively and said it was nothing.
“Lindbergh Castle has also changed a lot. Things are progressing so quickly that you’ll notice a big difference even after just a few days.”
“Really? My, I feel more and more indebted to you two.”
He knew it just by looking from afar, but Leia briefly glared at his exaggerated praise before quickly shifting her gaze to Belfry.
Adrian thought, ‘Aha,’ and gave Leia Lindbergh a peculiar look.
The four of them sat for a while, chatting idly about what they had been up to.
Carl Lindbergh’s tales of adventure were not a very welcome topic, so they skipped that.
They talked about the current state of Lindbergh and the disposal of Mugicha Parman.
They had a late lunch right there, and after finishing with dessert and dessert wine, two hours had flown by.
“The Grand Duke told you to travel?” Belfry asked.
It seemed like a rather frivolous thing for the Grand Duke, who had followed them all the way to Lindbergh out of the blue, to say to the Crown Prince and the future Crown Princess.
“He said the Makgeolli from Geolli is a specialty!”
When Carl said this excitedly, Leia chided him, saying he couldn’t even hold his liquor.
“We intend to see only good things and eat only good things,” Adrian said, wrapping an arm around Carl, who looked like he was about to float away.
“Go ahead. It seems difficult for me even now, and I’ll be even busier once I become the Princess-Regnant [2] , but this life itself feels like a journey to me, so it’s not bad. It would be even better if someone were to constantly help me by my side.”
At her words, which were so meaningful they were practically hammering in a nail, Belfry’s chin trembled slightly.
“Who? Are you perhaps short on manpower? I suppose Heineken’s personnel should stay for the time being, right?”
Carl, who had suddenly become completely oblivious, worried about Leia and asked Adrian, “Can you help out a little more?”
“If the Princess-Regnant wishes, we could have some of the volunteers stationed here permanently.”
Even though it was obvious Leia was speaking about Belfry, Adrian pretended to be just as clueless.
“I would be most grateful if you did. Though it seems I won’t be able to collect a single penny in commission fees from the Grand Duke, since the Empire has put the Principality deeply in its debt.”
Leia giggled.
“As I thought, you came because of the Balvenie Merchant Guild’s business.”
As Carl nodded in agreement, Adrian said, “Well…,” and looked at Belfry.
Leia was tilting her chin as if to smell the pheromones coming from near Belfry’s body.
‘The Grand Duke is a father after all.’
His youngest son, who looks just like the Duke he loves, has emerged as an Omega, so he probably wanted to see for himself that he wouldn’t be eaten up by some random Alpha.
“Well now, if this goes well, it could be a double celebration that makes the bond between Lindbergh and Heineken even stronger.”
Adrian muttered, and Carl, who hadn’t quite heard, tilted his head.
A lazy cat who wants her honied indolence back.
