My Tamed Beast Returned with a Dragon Chapter 19 - I’ll Wipe Them Out

Author: Asternkm

[Yoo Eunsae: Woori, Belquior wants to see you. When are you free?]

[Han Woori: I’m coming right now.]

Woori dropped everything and headed straight to Gangwon-do. The entire way there, his hands trembled unconsciously.

Did that dragon find a way?

He desperately hoped so. If they arrived only to hear that there was no solution, the disappointment would be unbearable.

What kind of dragon can’t even break a simple curse?

Woori chewed his lower lip, his mind consumed by anxious thoughts.

“I’m here.”

“Welcome, Woori.”

The moment he rushed into Eunsae’s house, his eyes searched for Belquior. The dragon, expressionless as ever, gave a slight nod. A silent command—to step outside.

They moved to the yard. Woori asked urgently.

“Did you find a way?”

“How far are you willing to go for that child?”

“…What?”

The way Belquior referred to Eunsae—that child—felt oddly unfamiliar. Woori hesitated for a moment before answering, his gaze unwavering.

“I’ll do anything.”

“The method is extremely difficult. Will you still do it?”

“Of course.”

Belquior stroked his chin thoughtfully before dividing the tasks between them.

Since Woori had said he’d do anything, that would surely include hard labor.

“For now, bring me 100 Tarantula Wraithstones and as many Zombie Tarantula Eggs as possible.”

“…Wait. You mean spider beasts?”

“Yes. There should be some here as well.”

“Well, yes, but…”

Woori’s pupils trembled slightly.

“How many Zombie Tarantula Eggs do you need?”

“As many as possible.”

He was at a loss for words. Both Tarantulas and Zombie Tarantulas were classified as A-rank beasts.

They weren’t impossible to hunt, but the sheer quantity required was overwhelming.

Tarantula Wraithstones drop at a rate of one or two per three dungeon raids. And you need a hundred? Even if we cleared every dungeon in Korea, it wouldn’t be enough. We’ll need international support.

His mind worked quickly.

And the Zombie Tarantula Eggs are just as bad… If the dungeon boss is male, then it’s a complete bust. Plus, it’s not even their breeding season.

But in the end, there was only one thing to say.

“We’ll do it. We’ll get it done.”

“The sooner, the better.”

Woori clenched his teeth. It was a difficult task, but at least now they had a solution. That was better than not knowing anything at all.

Just hold on a little longer, Eunsae.

Back at the guild, Woori gathered his teammates. Sol and Yuha, having been summoned late at night, looked irritated.

Mirinae, who had been given some advance notice, had a serious expression, while Inchan blinked sleepily like an overworked ox.

Hiding his inner turmoil, Woori spoke calmly.

“We found a way to break Eunsae’s curse.”

“What?! How?!”

Sol, who had been grumbling just moments ago, perked up immediately. Woori explained the situation.

“I asked a dragon for help. He knows more than anyone else, after all.”

“Wow, as expected from the guild leader! I knew you’d pull through!”

“What did he ask for in return?”

It was Mirinae, the guild’s strategist. She had already guessed there would be a cost.

Woori gave a wry smile.

“Nothing yet. But whatever it is, I’ll handle it.”

“……”

“So don’t worry about it.”

“What kind of nonsense is that? We’ll all take responsibility together.”

Yuha cut in, frowning.

“This is about Eunsae. It wouldn’t be fair for you to shoulder this alone. What, you think the dragon’s going to kill us or something? He even held back during our sparring matches.”

“That’s true.”

Inchan nodded quickly.

Woori felt both grateful and guilty for their support.

Just as he was about to say more, Sol stomped her foot impatiently.

“Okay, okay! Enough talking! What do we have to do to break the curse? Hurry up and tell me—I’m dying of suspense here.”

“We’ll have to clear dungeons non-stop. A rough estimate… about 500 of them.”

“WHAT?!”

Woori gazed into the distance.

“We need 100 Tarantula Wraithstones and as many Zombie Tarantula Eggs as we can find.”

Mirinae thought for a moment and reached the same conclusion as Woori—Korea’s dungeons alone wouldn’t be enough.

“We have that business trip to China next month… Guess we’ll be extra busy.”

“Spiders, huh? So all we have to do is hunt them? Easy. I’ll wipe them out from this world.”

Sol’s eyes burned with determination.

And so, from that night onward, the era of the Great Spider Massacre by the Dochun Guild began.

Belquior hovered over the vast, endless ocean. The deep blue sea stretched beneath him, dark and foreboding, with nothing but the rolling waves and the blindingly clear sky in sight.

“It’s been a while since I’ve gone hunting myself.”

His pupils narrowed into sharp slits as he peered into the water, searching for signs of Chronos.

Chronos was a sea-dwelling monster. Its massive, elongated body rivaled that of a humpback whale, with vicious fangs and a spiked tail that swung like an iron flail.

Its ferocious temperament had earned it the title of the outlaw of the sea. Under normal circumstances, Belquior wouldn’t have bothered dealing with such a creature.

His golden eyes gleamed as he fixed his gaze on the ocean depths. A surge of magic enveloped his body.

In an instant, he shed his human form.

Glittering, iridescent sky-blue scales emerged, reflecting the sunlight in a breathtaking display.

Crack! His wings unfurled with a powerful snap, sending waves crashing across the surface.

Bathed in sunlight, his colossal figure soared through the sky with fluid grace. Grand and multicolored, it was a sight so mesmerizing that no one would be able to look away.

Stretching his limbs, Belquior let out a deep breath. His sheer size was overwhelming—so vast it was difficult to take in all at once.

Krroooohhh…

The sky and sea trembled at the presence of a dragon who governed the forces of nature.

He was accustomed to such reactions and wasted no time. With a mighty dive, he plunged into the ocean.

Splash was far too tame a word—the sea roared as if a typhoon had struck.

Belquior swam effortlessly through the waters, slicing through the depths toward a submerged cave shrouded in darkness.

Sensing a murderous aura, Chronos stirred.

Krro?

It had no time to process what was happening.

Belquior lunged, sinking his fangs into Chronos’s neck.

Krroooaahhh!

Chronos thrashed violently, its body twisting in agony.

A brutal struggle began.

The monster retaliated, lashing out with its deadly fangs and the spiked tail that had secured its dominance in these waters.

Even for a dragon, this was not a common occurrence. Chronos, having ruled the depths in solitude, had suddenly, without warning, been reduced to prey.

Rage boiled within it.

Chronos fought with all its might, refusing to accept its fate.

The spikes on its tail managed to scratch through the dragon’s scales. Belquior raised an eyebrow.

His grip tightened around Chronos’s throat, choking the life out of it.

Even as the swirling waters clouded their surroundings, the dragon did not let go of its prey.

Blood spread through the ocean.

Drawn by the scent, sharks approached—only to flee the moment they felt Belquior’s overwhelming presence.

Heaving with exhaustion, Chronos stared at him defiantly.

Belquior spoke in a low, rumbling voice.

[Give up already.]

The outcome had been decided from the start.

Yet, Chronos refused to submit.

Krroaa!

Energy began to gather in its maw, a final, desperate attack forming—

Belquior sighed.

[How troublesome.]

With a deep breath, he unleashed a breath attack that dwarfed Chronos’s pitiful attempt.

Moments later, he emerged from the water, carrying the lifeless corpse in his jaws.

He soared toward an uninhabited island and carelessly tossed the carcass onto the shore.

Shaking off the water from his scales, Belquior transformed back into his human form.

As soon as he did, a winged beast that had been waiting in the sky descended, folding its wings neatly.

[Lord Belquior, you succeeded!]

“Dew. Did you find the Pandora Flowers?”

[Of course! There was an untouched flower field in the Reathan Canyon. I’ll take you there.]

Dew, a gargoyle, was one of Belquior’s trusted subordinates.

Together, they began dismantling Chronos’s body, taking only the necessary parts.

With his task complete, Belquior immediately set off for Reathan Canyon. He had already wasted too much time searching for the Pandora Flowers.

[The Dragon of Abundance helped us!]

“…Of all people…”

Belquior scowled.

Montella, the Dragon of Abundance, was an exhausting individual to deal with.

By now, rumors had spread among the dragons—rumors that Belquior had grown fond of a human woman in his later years.

That was Sanchez’s doing.

No matter how many times I say it’s not like that…

His temples throbbed.

He already dreaded how Montella would use this as an excuse to pester him endlessly.

With several teleportation spells, Belquior arrived at Reathan Canyon in no time. A dry wind ruffled his sky-blue hair.

The massive canyon twisted in winding lines, revealing a parched riverbed below.

Dense patches of wild grass, fallen trees, and tangled underbrush lay untouched.

The presence of a dragon and a gargoyle sent wildlife scattering in terror.

Dew stepped forward to lead the way.

[This way.]
