My Tamed Beast Returned with a Dragon Chapter 49 - Was That Person From Earlier…?

Author: Asternkm

‘But how did he predict the dungeon break?’

It was Cheon Changhyun who had predicted that a dungeon break would occur in Daejeon today. He also knew the dungeon’s terrain would be a maze.

Thanks to that, the Gold Star Guild had been able to prepare in advance.

Of course, they hadn’t believed him right away. They took a “nothing to lose” approach and prepped just in case. But no one had expected him to actually be right.

Baek Chanmin began to suspect that Cheon Changhyun might possess a foresight-type skill. If so, they were incredibly lucky.

Hunters with foresight abilities were rare—and highly valuable.

‘Is the medium dreams? Or does he hear the voice of a transcendent being, like Stella Vaughn from England? How accurate is it? What’s the cooldown?’

Well, if he kept him close, he’d find out soon enough. Baek Chanmin stared at Cheon Changhyun with a sharp gaze.

Cheon Changhyun had made a big impression today. The hunter rank he revealed was A-rank.

Even within the same rank, actual ability can vary greatly depending on experience—but Cheon Changhyun fought like a seasoned veteran.

With swift movements, he toyed with the monsters, wielding an unusually shaped sword and cutting them down mercilessly. He was clearly smart and skilled.

‘Guys like him—you either keep them close and use them, or you get rid of them before they grow.’

Baek Chanmin leaned toward the former. If he became difficult to control, they could always eliminate him later.

“If you’ve packed all your supplies, we’re going in!”

Baek Chanmin shouted with force. At the sound of his voice, the Gold Star Guild’s core members, now fully prepared, gathered at the dungeon entrance.

“Hey! Going in first is low, you know!”

Namgoong Sol’s voice rang out, but he ignored it. Baek Chanmin firmly believed that this dungeon would become theirs.

Eunsae and her team arrived on-site just after the third wave had begun. On the way, she checked her phone and saw a message from Mirinae, asking her to take care of things from here.

From the air, Eunsae looked down. Hunters were doing their best to fight the swarm of monsters, but it was clear they were struggling.

“Gold Star Guild isn’t in sight?”

She’d seen the news saying they were the first to arrive, so it was likely they had already entered the dungeon. That meant the two guilds leading the dungeon assault were Gold Star and Dochun.

Scanning the area, Eunsae spotted a few locations where there were fewer monsters compared to the rest.

She saw Yang Heejin, Park Jiyeon, and Kang Doyeol of the Hyehwa Guild fighting hard. Several familiar faces were also visible.

‘Oh? Hunter Jo Ilsu is here too.’

He was older, known as one of the veterans. She’d heard he had retired and moved to the countryside.

‘Wait—was that Daejeon?’

Peaceful Daejeon had become a haven for retired hunters. But that peace had ended today.

Even if retired, a strong hunter like Jo Ilsu wouldn’t sit still during a sudden dungeon break. Together with other first-generation hunters, he helped push through the crisis.

Eunsae landed Dodari at a spot a bit removed from the front lines. The moment they touched down, Seo Horang tumbled out of the transport cage, gasping.

“I… I almost died…”

He collapsed onto the ground, heaving. Ignoring him, Haneuli stretched, and Park Doyoon and his team quickly prepared for battle.

Having flown from Incheon Airport to Seoul, and then Seoul to Daejeon with people in tow, Dodari was exhausted. Eunsae gave it a potion to restore its strength.

After assessing the situation, she gave her orders.

“Team Leader Park Doyoon, move with your team. Once the area calms down a bit, regroup with me!”

“Yes, understood!”

Park Doyoon led his team off, dragging Seo Horang by the collar.

Eunsae turned to Belquior.

“Belquior, will you be staying here?”

“I’ll be fine. You go do what you need to do. Are you taking Byeol with you?”

[I want to go!]

The baby dragon fluttered over to Eunsae, golden eyes shining with excitement, pleading to come along.

“…Alright! I’ll leave Bomi with you!”

Eunsae, ever weak to Byeol’s charm, gave in. Besides, Byeol had experience in dungeons. It should be fine.

Eunsae rushed toward the overwhelmed hunters with Byeol, Dodari, and Haneuli at her side.

Beep? Beep!

As Eunsae grew distant, Bomi, who had been quietly nestled in Belquior’s arms, let out worried beeps. She wriggled, trying to fly after her.

Belquior held her back.

“Stay here. If you can’t control your power, you’ll just be a burden.”

Beep beep!

Bomi whined, clearly protesting. She didn’t believe she was a nuisance.

While Belquior was having a quiet struggle with Bomi, Eunsae was soaring through the battlefield, wielding the rod of the carnivorous poison dragon Veil Karas. Behind, beside, and ahead of her, Dodari, Haneuli, and Byeol fought in sync.

A path opened in the swarm of monsters. Bodies piled up to one side. The watching hunters stood gaping.

“Wow, Yoo Eunsae… As soon as she shows up, the monsters just vanish.”

“She’s as intense as when the Dochun Guild S-ranks arrived. Honestly, Yoo Eunsae by herself is like a one-woman army.”

“Who said she only looks good because of her monsters? I’ve never seen anyone beat down monsters with a rod like that.”

“Same. I didn’t even know you could use that weapon like that.”

They murmured in awe and admiration.

Eunsae struck the side of a monster called Totokl, which cultivated rot spores in its throat.

Thud! Splat!

Totokl crumpled, smashing into another monster as it fell.

Whish!

Kyaaak—!

With a flick of her wrist, Eunsae spun the rod and hurled it into the sky. A flying-type monster trying to sneak off toward the city was struck and fell.

Byeol then zapped it with electricity, knocking it unconscious.

Meanwhile, Belquior was watching Eunsae’s combat for the first time.

‘Her movements are incredibly efficient. She uses her physical abilities to the fullest. Her field awareness is excellent, and she handles her weapon with precision.’

Anyone with even a bit of insight could see—her combat instincts were exceptional.

Since the last dungeon assault, Eunsae hadn’t been in a full fight like this for a while. Now, unrestrained, she was alive with energy. Belquior couldn’t help but smile faintly as he watched her.

Then—
A monster silently crept up behind him, jaws wide open.

Kssshaaa!

Beep—!

Sensing the threat, Bomi wriggled furiously in Belquior’s arms. But he simply patted her down gently and, without even looking back, lazily waved his hand.

“Don’t interrupt me.”

Shhhk—!

A sharp wind sliced the monster cleanly in half. The creature died without even a scream. Bomi’s eyes sparkled as she stared up at Belquior.

Beep!

“It’s nothing.”

Excited, Bomi’s tail turned pink and wagged with joy.

Beep beep!

Wriggling out of Belquior’s arms, she let out a proud squeak, as if to say, “I can do that too!”

“You’re still not ready. You need to learn how to control your strength first.”

Beep, beep!

“She’ll worry. Stay put.”

Beep…

Crushed by his calm warning, Bomi drooped her head. She quietly nestled back into his arms, and Belquior absentmindedly patted her again.

Confirming that the area had settled down, Belquior looked in Eunsae’s direction. Hunters who had been watching him blankly exhaled, finally realizing they’d been holding their breath.

“W-Who is that guy?”

“What did he just do?”

Because of Belquior’s faint presence aura, no one had noticed what had happened. All that remained was a monster cleanly split in two.

How did he do that?

Among the stunned hunters staring at the remains, one finally spoke.

“Wait, isn’t that the guy who was with Hunter Yoo Eunsae? The magician?”

His presence-concealing magic was still active, but as his magical pressure increased, more and more hunters began to notice him.

As they became aware of him, his features grew more defined.

Pale, flawless skin. A sharp nose. A small face with striking features that seemed too perfect to be real.

So beautiful it was almost intimidating. His rare sky-blue hair rippled in the wind.

The hunters who had been staring in awe finally snapped out of it and started whispering in a flurry.

“Yeah, that mage-type hunter! Wow, he must be seriously powerful.”

“I knew it! It had to be magic! How did none of us notice him?”

“Ohhh, that’s why Yoo Eunsae—”

“Why are you suddenly acting like that makes sense?!”

Several male hunters looked genuinely disheartened. They were all known fans of Eunsae.

‘How annoying.’

Feeling all the eyes on him, Belquior considered reinforcing his presence-hiding magic—but decided not to.

None of them were approaching him, and if anyone had to deal with political pressure over his exposure, it would be Han Woori, not him.

There was no need for someone like him to worry about irrelevant humans. Belquior turned away, expression cold, watching the hunters awkwardly dodge monster attacks.
