Actually, It’s a Messy Melodrama Chapter 109
“Hyung, why are you here…?”
Flustered, Youngmin stuttered. Even when he was quite close with Taejun, it was rare for him to come to his house.
An unknown anxiety engulfed Youngmin. Even though he didn’t come often, it wasn’t as if he had come to a place he shouldn’t be, and Youngmin hadn’t done anything wrong to him, but strangely, his heart lurched. It felt as if every cell in his body was warning him.
“What, did I come somewhere I’m not supposed to be?”
“No, well… that’s not it, but…”
“For goodness’ sake, just come and sit down already!”
It was Youngmin’s father who cut off the awkward conversation with Taejun and yelled. Greatly flustered, Youngmin, without realizing it, quickly came to the living room and sat on the sofa.
Only then could Youngmin see his father’s expression. He looked angry, and he also seemed tense. On the other hand, Taejun, sitting opposite him, wore a relaxed smile, but Youngmin could feel that he wasn’t smiling because he was genuinely in a good mood.
“What on earth is going on…”
Youngmin couldn’t guess a single thing, but anxiety kept creeping in, and as he opened his mouth again, his father raised his voice at him once more.
“You bastard, what the hell have you been doing!”
“What?”
“Did you have nothing better to do than to stalk the person your hyung is seeing, you son of a bitch?!”
Youngmin tried to understand what his father had just said, right there on the spot. He had definitely heard it, but there wasn’t a single word he could comprehend.
The person hyung is seeing, stalking—unfamiliar words continuously struck his ears and shattered. He had no idea what any of this meant.
“Worthless son. I really raised you wrong!”
“Uncle, please calm down.”
“How can I calm down right now? It’s so embarrassing. I have no face to see you with.”
Youngmin’s dazed eyes captured the sight of his father, who didn’t know what to do in front of Han Taejun. He was bowing and scraping before Taejun as if he had committed a great sin.
On the surface, Han Taejun was comforting his father, feigning politeness, but anyone could see that he was the one leading this situation.
But why on earth? The question still swirled in Youngmin’s mind.
Even though they were connected by blood, Han Taejun had almost no direct involvement with this family’s affairs. Moreover, there was even less reason for Han Taejun to get angry because of him and come all the way to his house.
And what was this about stalking? Jin Youngmin didn’t even know who Han Taejun was seeing. So how could he possibly be stalking them?
“Hyung, what is all this about…?”
Youngmin asked calmly, suppressing his chaotic feelings. There must be some kind of misunderstanding. There had to be.
But as if to mock Youngmin’s hopes, an unexpected name flowed from Taejun’s lips.
“Youngmin, you know Cha Haeshin, right?”
In that moment, Youngmin could feel what it was like for all the blood in his body to run cold. A chill literally ran through him from head to toe.
Cha Haeshin.
How did that name come out of Han Taejun’s mouth? Youngmin’s fist, clenched without him realizing, began to tremble.
“You, you son of a bitch, really…! Are you in your right mind, you!”
Youngmin’s father flew into a rage, as if Youngmin’s reaction was a confession of his crime. Youngmin still hadn’t grasped the situation, yet the two men before him seemed to have already passed their sentence.
Han Taejun opened his mouth with a refined attitude, as if he were a judge.
“I know that a person’s feelings can’t be controlled, but still, Youngmin, should you be hitting on your hyung’s person?”
“What… what nonsense is this…”
Finally, Youngmin opened his mouth. Every single word Han Taejun said was such bullshit that he couldn’t keep listening.
Who was his person? Cha Haeshin? Was he now calling Cha Haeshin—the jewel-like trash that he himself had discovered, picked up, and painstakingly polished until now—his person?
Nonsense. It was all nonsense.
“What kind of bullshit are you spouting right now. Fuck, why is Cha Haeshin your person!”
At last, Youngmin couldn’t hold back his surging anger and exploded. It was speech and behavior he would never have engaged in normally, but his reason snapped for a moment, and he couldn’t see anything in front of him.
Cha Haeshin, who had suddenly changed his attitude and cut off contact; Cha Haeshin, who had drawn a line as if treating him like a stalker and refused to even meet him; Cha Haeshin, who had spouted the ridiculous nonsense that he was scared and burdened by his approach.
The changes in Cha Haeshin, which he could not understand, filled his mind and stirred up his emotions.
What have I done for Cha Haeshin? How much have I cherished and invested in him until now?
He couldn’t possibly tolerate this situation where a bastard who knew nothing suddenly appeared and called Cha Haeshin his person.
“Who are you. What did you do to Cha Haeshin…!”
At that moment, with a smack, Youngmin’s head snapped to the side. Clutching his cheek with his hand, Youngmin looked to the side with an expression of disbelief. His father, who had just slapped Youngmin’s cheek, was no longer even looking at him.
“Taejun, I’m sorry. I failed to educate my son properly.”
Taejun shook his head with a calm demeanor and opened his mouth.
“It’s alright. To be honest, I was so angry at first that I was about to report it to the police right away, but he is my cousin, after all… and more than anything, when I thought of my aunt and uncle’s faces, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.”
“Yes, yes. Thank you so much for coming here first.”
“But you know this too, don’t you, uncle? I can’t stand it when someone touches what’s mine. There won’t be a next time. As you can see, the evidence is clear, and I won’t be visiting here again.”
Although he was using polite speech, Taejun’s attitude was, to anyone’s eyes, a high-handed warning. He was blatantly displaying his power to his heart’s content.
“Han Taejun, you…”
“Can’t you shut up!”
Finding the situation utterly absurd, Youngmin opened his mouth again, but he had no choice but to shut it in the face of his father’s furious journey. More than his father, he couldn’t defy Han Taejun further, not knowing what he might actually do.
He heard the sound of his pride shattering. It was a sense of humiliation that Jin Youngmin had never once felt in his life. Regardless, Taejun leisurely got up from his seat, dusted off his clothes, and continued speaking.
“Grandfather already knows I’m seeing this person. I plan to introduce them to him soon. So please take care of it, uncle, so that it doesn’t get any noisier.”
“Yes. I will. I promise this kid won’t bother you with this problem again.”
Youngmin’s father hurriedly got up to follow Taejun and promised repeatedly. Youngmin, his cheek swelling, stared blankly at the scene. The situation unfolding before his eyes just felt unreal.
“I’ll be going then. Let’s have a meal with auntie next time.”
“Let’s do that. But by any chance, Taejun…”
“Yes.”
“Th-the Chairman…”
Youngmin’s father, stopping Taejun who was getting up to leave, began speaking in a voice full of worry. Taejun smiled gently as if to reassure him and replied.
“Grandfather doesn’t know. If he knew, would I have come today? Youngmin would have already been summoned.”
Youngmin’s father felt relieved at that answer, but at the same time, he felt a shiver. Getting on Han Taejun’s bad side was a problem, but falling out of favor with Chairman Han was a disaster so much greater it couldn’t even be compared.
“Right. Of course. Thank you, thank you. I’ll handle it well, so don’t you worry about it anymore.”
“Yes. I’ll trust you, uncle. I’m leaving.”
“Okay. Take care.”
Thinking he had at least avoided the worst, Youngmin’s father let out a sigh of relief and saw Taejun off.
His nephew’s attitude was arrogant to the very end, but considering what his own son had done, Taejun was actually being merciful.
Only after Taejun opened the door and was completely out of the house did Youngmin’s father turn around and look at his utterly pathetic son.
Seeing his son with a wronged expression, not even knowing what a dangerous thing he had just done, he felt a wave of nausea rising from within.
“What the hell have you been doing!”
At last, a furious roar filled the peaceful house.
☂️
Youngmin raised his voice towards his father, who was approaching with a menacing aura.
“Why are you doing this? What did that bastard Han Taejun say to make you…!”
“Shut that mouth of yours!”
Youngmin’s father, Moonsung, glared even more fiercely and shouted. It was a situation where it wouldn’t be enough for him to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness, yet the sight of him shouting was dumbfounding.
However, Youngmin, who found this situation just as absurd, did not back down.
“What did that bastard run his mouth about Cha Haeshin for!”
“You still haven’t come to your senses, and you have the nerve to say something after doing this kind of shit?!”
Moonsung, who had come right up to Youngmin, threw the photo that Taejun had shown him in front of Youngmin. Youngmin’s eyes, after checking the photo that had fallen to the floor, filled with shock.
In the photo was the image of his secretary trying to forcibly drag Cha Haeshin away.
