Actually, It’s a Messy Melodrama Chapter 110
“You think this is all? He said he also has a video and the threatening text messages you sent to that Cha Haeshin guy. Did you have nothing better to do than to stalk, and to stalk Taejun’s lover of all people? Good grief, you bastard!”
“Who keeps saying whose lover, is that what Han Taejun is saying? That Cha Haeshin is his lover?”
“Yes!”
“Isn’t this a crazy son of a bitch. Father, Cha Haeshin is not Han Taejun’s lover. He’s the one I’m seeing. He doesn’t even know Han Taejun! The one stalking is probably that bastard Han Taejun!”
“What?”
“Fuck, since when has he been following him to have this kind of photo? Crazy bastard.”
Youngmin picked up the single photo his father had thrown and glared at it as if he could kill. Taking this photo was as good as saying he had been watching him in front of the convenience store where Cha Haeshin worked.
Was this the reason Cha Haeshin had suddenly changed? Was he being threatened by Han Taejun? Haeshin’s baffling message also made perfect sense if he had been forced to send it, unable to overcome Taejun’s threats.
How on earth did Han Taejun find out about Cha Haeshin? Could it be that he had fallen for Cha Haeshin? But since Cha Haeshin wasn’t easily giving in because he was meeting him, did he resort to such a cheap trick?
New questions rushed in like a flood. He knew Cha Haeshin easily earned people’s favor, but he never imagined it would work on Han Taejun.
“This bastard still hasn’t come to his senses…!”
However, Moonsung opened his mouth, his face still not free of anger.
“The Chairman supposedly knows too, and you’re telling me this is Taejun one-sidedly stalking him?”
“That bastard Han Taejun must have forced an introduction or something! Do you know how much effort I’ve put into Cha Haeshin? If he were really seeing Han Taejun, he would have told me! But he didn’t say anything, you know? The one who suddenly interfered is that bastard!”
“You foolish boy, it seems you still don’t grasp the situation.”
“Father!”
“Shut up! No more excuses, just end it with him. Don’t contact him ever again, and apologize to Taejun.”
“I don’t want to! Why should I? Han Taejun is the one who should apologize!”
“You really…!”
Moonsung glared fiercely at his only son. A string of curses rose to the tip of his tongue. But seeing Youngmin’s half-crazed eyes, Moonsung let out a long sigh to calm his emotions first.
Youngmin wasn’t a child who got into big trouble or was particularly disobedient growing up. However, Moonsung knew vaguely. About the streak of madness his son possessed.
When Youngmin was a child, on the rare occasions he lost his reason and got agitated, even Moonsung had a hard time stopping him. Such incidents gradually disappeared as he got older, but Moonsung still felt that temperament remained within his son.
Realizing that shouting wouldn’t solve the problem, Moonsung pressed his forehead and slumped onto the sofa. His thoughtless son seemed to have absolutely no idea what he had really done.
“Let’s say what you’re saying is true. Let’s say Han Taejun forcibly stole the person you met first. What does that change?”
Moonsung continued, forcing himself to calm down and lowering his voice.
“What did you say?”
“Do you really think Han Taejun came all the way here to kindly explain and ask me to resolve it?”
Youngmin fell silent at Moonsung’s sharp question. No way. There was no way that arrogant and lofty bastard Han Taejun would have personally come all this way to make a ‘request.’
“What do you think he meant by deliberately mentioning the Chairman? Are you really acting this way because you don’t know?”
As if bestowing a great favor, Taejun had informed him that he had not yet told the Chairman about this. It was unpleasant and dirty, but it was a fact that no one could easily ignore.
“Whose words are right, yours or Taejun’s—do you really think that’s important?”
“But Father…!”
“To put it bluntly, it’s not like you married that person, so what if Han Taejun stole the person you were seeing? Are you in a position to make an issue out of it?”
“Father, what does that mean? So Han Taejun can just go around stealing other people’s lovers as he pleases?”
“It’s not a matter of can or can’t. The problem is that Han Taejun can do whatever he wants if he sets his mind to it.”
Moonsung looked at Youngmin with a gaze that was, unlike before, ice-cold. His eyes were so chilling that Youngmin felt as if he had been doused with cold water.
It felt like he had seen the reality of the river between Taejun and himself. One that could never be crossed, one that he wouldn’t dare to covet.
Sighing once more, Moonsung slowly rose from his seat and said.
“No need for long words, end it.”
“Father!”
“Are you going to fall out of the Chairman’s favor because of some worthless man?!”
“That’s…!”
“Get a grip and think carefully. This is the only warning.”
Finishing his words, Moonsung gave his son a glance and then turned his body to leave the spot.
“Fuck… Fuck, fuck, fuck!!”
Left alone in the living room, Youngmin bent over, clutched his hair, and screamed. He couldn’t understand how things had come to this.
“How… how could Han Taejun…”
Youngmin hastily retraced his memories of meeting Haeshin. But at no point had Haeshin ever seemed like he was seeing someone else.
The story about the Chairman knowing Cha Haeshin was even stranger. The whole world knew how much the Chairman doted on and cherished Han Taejun. It was nonsensical to think he would just stand by and watch his grandson meet a worthless man who had nothing.
Looking at it rationally, not a single word his father said was wrong. Now that Taejun had come to the house and given such a stern warning, it was wise to back off, even if Youngmin had been in a relationship with Haeshin.
The problem was Youngmin’s heart, which didn’t want to back down obediently even though he knew that. Who does Han Taejun think he is? Does he think he’s some kind of king just because everyone fawns over him? Even knowing he was an opponent he couldn’t face, his rebellious spirit wouldn’t die down.
Youngmin picked up the fallen photo again and stared intently at the Cha Haeshin captured in it. Cha Haeshin’s face, trying to escape from the secretary’s hand, looked incredibly desperate.
But what if the person who had truly put Cha Haeshin in a predicament was Han Taejun? What if he was intimidating Haeshin with the power of money and authority? And what if his scheme was to make Haeshin his person by holding Haeshin’s mother, whose whereabouts were a mystery, as a hostage?
If that were the case, then the only person who could save Cha Haeshin right now was him. Perhaps Haeshin, while being forced to reject Youngmin due to Taejun’s coercion, was secretly hoping he would come to save him.
Youngmin crumpled the photo in his hand without mercy. Even in the face of the countless walls of reality blocking his way, Jin Youngmin did not want to give up on Cha Haeshin.
☂️
“Do you think Jin Youngmin will give up with this?”
While the car was stopped at a red light, Secretary Choi, who had glanced at Taejun through the rearview mirror, asked. Taejun opened his mouth, his gaze fixed out the window.
“No. He probably won’t give up.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah. Well, there’s a chance he might give up quietly, but I see it as slim.”
“Then why did you go to the trouble of going all the way there to warn him?”
It was a genuine question. He was curious why Taejun had bothered to take the time to deliver a warning in person that wouldn’t be heeded anyway. Only then did Taejun turn his gaze to meet Secretary Choi’s eyes through the rearview mirror.
“No matter how much I have Grandfather backing me, my aunt is also Grandfather’s child. And my father’s biological younger sister.”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“If I just cut off Jin Youngmin without any warning, it would inevitably provoke a harsh backlash.”
“Ah…”
“I don’t care either way, but if that happens, the burden Cha Haeshin has to bear becomes too great.”
As Taejun finished his answer, the light changed, and Secretary Choi quietly started the car. Taejun continued.
“My uncle knows his place, so he doesn’t have much ambition. His capacity is smaller than my aunt’s, so he doesn’t covet bigger things, but he dreads losing what’s his.”
That was why Taejun had warned his uncle instead of his aunt. Taejun’s uncle and Youngmin’s father, Moonsung, was particularly afraid of the Chairman.
The reason Jin Moonsung’s family, which had been in crisis, was able to narrowly escape ruin was thanks to Moonsung becoming Myungjin’s son-in-law.
Moonsung, who had desperately experienced the fear of his family’s ruin, would not stand by and watch his family face a crisis again over a mere poor young man.
“From now on, if that bastard Jin Youngmin acts out of line, my uncle will be the first one not to leave him alone.”
“I see.”
“That said, we can’t be complacent.”
“Yes. In any case, since you’ve spoken so openly, Mr. President, we no longer need to conduct Mr. Cha Haeshin’s security in secret. I will take measures to protect him with a little more care.”
“Right, thank you.”
Taejun left a word of thanks to Secretary Choi, who took care of necessary matters on his own without specific instructions, and looked out the window again.
