The 13th Emperor of Won’guk (源國), a nation that reveres dragons as guardian deities, Emperor Gamhwi’s empress was a woman unrecorded in history. Her origins, where she came from, who her parents were—none of it was known.

Despite the many noble daughters from prestigious families, it was she who rose to the position of empress, entirely due to the emperor’s overwhelming and breathless devotion. Those given to gossip mocked her, calling her a snake-like woman who blinded the emperor.

But perhaps it was a curse for wearing clothes that didn’t fit. The empress—whose name was never even known—gradually went mad from some form of mania, and was eventually dethroned.
