If You Take the Enemy Prince as Your Knight Chapter 75
The men who had been distracted by Sasha quickly snapped out of it and returned to their respective companions. As soon as Orlette sat down on the couch, three men instinctively took their places beside and behind her. Even after leaving the bedroom, Orlette maintained her commanding presence over the men.
Sasha let out a sigh and spoke. “The sun hasn’t even set yet.”
“Does the time matter? What’s important is who you’re with.” Orlette playfully tickled one man’s chin as if he were a cat. The other men, not wanting to be left out, competed for her attention, acting cute and vying for her affection.
Regen felt an urge to cover Sasha’s eyes with his hand, as if to shield her from the scene. Thankfully, Noah stepped in, declaring that he would personally attend to Orlette, and promptly ushered the three men out of the parlor, clearing the view.
Sasha, still looking dazed, finally spoke. “Do you like it that much?”
“Huh?”
The question, which Sasha seemed to have blurted out without much thought, brought a brief silence to the parlor.
Orlette appeared flustered. “What was the question again?”
“I asked if you liked it. I was just curious.”
“Huh… This is kind of shocking.”
“Why is it shocking?” Sasha, who had just confessed her lack of experience, was unapologetically confident.
“You two haven’t slept together?”
“…”
Regen was too flustered to respond, so Sasha protested against the insult on his behalf.
“Sir Regen is my knight. What kind of person do you think I am to say something like that?” Her sharp retort implied that Orlette must have seen her as some trash who uses power to take advantage of others.
“N-No…” Orlette felt wronged. But you like that knight!
Her younger sister, who seemed to have a heart made of ice, had softened her voice sweetly and tenderly only when speaking to that knight more than once. There was no way Orlette could be unaware of Sasha’s feelings for Regen. And to Orlette, Sasha was a sister so beautiful that she could be shown off anywhere. If Sasha decided to seduce someone, men should have already fallen for her, grateful and eager to please her. Of course, Orlette realized today that she needed to revise that thought.
“What do you mean by no?”
“Just…”
“Just what?”
“The atmosphere between you two…”
“The atmosphere, what about it?”
“…Never mind. I misspoke.”
“Please be more careful.”
While Sasha’s temper had subsided, Orlette felt a delayed sense of indignation rising within her. She had been momentarily overwhelmed by her younger sister, but Orlette was no pushover. She was a princess with a strong personality herself. To think her little sister would sharpen her words without understanding her elder sister’s deeper intentions. Her cheeky sister deserved a lesson. Orlette resolved to tease and torment her thoroughly.
“Sasha, you know how much I think about you, right?”
“Of course.” At this, Sasha nodded obediently, which was endearing in its own way.
“Well then, Sasha, I must say, I was quite shocked when I heard your confession earlier. To think that a princess like you still sleeps alone in a cold bed at night. It really worries me.”
“Isn’t that a rather unnecessary thing to worry about?”
“No, no. You might one day inherit the throne, and yet you’re so ignorant in that area. How could that be acceptable?”
“…I don’t think that’s particularly a flaw.”
Sasha tried to maintain her composure, but she couldn’t fool Orlette’s sharp eyes. Judging by the redness of her ears, it seemed she was embarrassed to continue this topic for too long, especially in front of someone she liked.
See? That’s what you get for challenging me. The end was near. Orlette smiled. “You can’t take this lightly. Before my little sister ends up with a flaw, this big sister has to step in.”
“What are you planning to do?”
“Well, I may have been self-taught, but I can’t just leave you to fend for yourself, can I? It seems it’s time to revive the traditional imperial family’s sex education.”
“Traditional imperial family sex education? What’s that?”
“Training a pure young man to use as a practice partner for the princess.”
“…That sounds way too old-fashioned for me. I think I’ll just teach myself instead.” Sasha didn’t say more, but her face was now as red as a ripe apple. “I don’t think today is a good day for conversation. I’ll be going now.”
“Yeah, yeah. Take care. Study hard.”
Thanks to Orlette’s easygoing dismissal, Sasha and Regen managed to escape Amethyst room. But it soon became clear that even this retreat was part of Orlette’s plan. Before the door to the sitting room even closed, laughter erupted from behind them.
“Pfft! Noah, did you see that earlier? Her face was completely red…”
They deliberately slammed the door shut with a loud noise.
“…”
“…”
Standing with her back to the entrance of the Amethyst room, Sasha could feel Regen’s gaze lingering on her. Unable to summon the courage to meet his eyes, she stared straight ahead and strode quickly toward her chamber.
✦
“Hamel, Demia, Sione. Is no one here?”
After a tumultuous day, I returned to the Silver Bird room, only to find that all the maids were absent. I sighed and stepped into the bedroom. It seemed I would have to remove the cumbersome ornaments and untie the ribbons constricting my waist and ribs on my own.
I just want to rest. I feel like I need to end this day as soon as possible.
As I was standing in front of the mirror, taking off my earrings, I heard the door open. A tall man entered quietly and stood behind me without a word. Regen…?
He didn’t seem to have any particular reason for being here. On top of that, he was standing way too close. As I was momentarily flustered, he reached out toward the back of my neck. Before I could react, the thick choker necklace around my neck was unfastened.
“…”
“…”
The only sounds in the bedroom were the faint noises of his actions. Time seemed to stretch as he removed the accessories from my body and untied the ribbon in my hair.
Why…?
Regen was attending to my attire as if it were the most natural thing in the world, but I couldn’t stay calm at all. This was strange. This kind of assistance wasn’t supposed to be his role. I should have stopped him. But I was acting strangely too. By doing nothing, I was allowing him to continue. I knew I shouldn’t let this happen, but the thought just circled in my head without forming into words. Meanwhile, the things draped over my body were being undone one by one by his hands.
I was confused. Was this really happening? Was I imagining the intent behind his touch? Was I, like a fool, interpreting this in a way that suited me? As my self-doubt grew louder, the ribbon around my waist was pulled. The vivid sensation of soft fabric brushing against my skin almost made me stop breathing.
“Sasha.”
“…”
Our eyes met through the mirror.
“I’m right here, close by.”
“…”
“So, there’s no need to call anyone else into your bedroom.”
“…”
This is seriously confusing.
“What do you mean by that?”
“You seem curious about men.”
“…”
His meaning was now much clearer. My mind cleared, and at the same time, it turned cold.
I slowly turned my body. The distance between our gazes, now direct and not through the mirror, was incredibly close. “Regen, do you even realize what you’re saying right now?”
“Yes.”
“…”
Regen stared straight at me as he gently lifted one of my hands, supporting it. He pressed his lips to the back of my hand, then brushed them along the edge near the corner. It was the exact spot I had quickly pulled away from earlier, disliking even the slightest touch of his fingers. Only then did my mind fully grasp the situation. This is seduction. He is seducing me.
“Use me, if you need to.”
“…”
My heart feels like it’s about to explode, yet at the same time, it grows cold.
“If need, you said. What exactly do you mean by need?”
“…”
“For a man?”
“Yes.”
The affirmative response left me breathless. “Why do you say it like that?”
He talked like some kind of attendant.
“…”
“…”
Regen didn’t answer. It was as if he was silently agreeing with even the thoughts in my head.
At that moment, sharp words escaped my lips. “So, are you saying you’re willing to serve me as my practice partner for the education?”
“If that’s what you want.”
“…”
As Regen said those words, he didn’t even show the slightest intention of avoiding my gaze. It was as if he was declaring there wasn’t a single lie in his statement.
I was shocked. It was something that could never happen, something that should never happen. That he would volunteer to serve me as my nighttime attendant.
