When have I ever not behaved properly? Where else would you find someone as cautious of people as I am… I’m the victim of a loss of innocence I can’t even remember, so why does the world condemn omegas every single day.

‘You dirty trait-discriminatory world….’

For now, though, it didn’t seem like it was Choi Jigu. If Choi Jigu were the culprit from that night, knowing his personality, he would have already made it obvious to me long ago.

‘It’s a relief it doesn’t seem to be a major injury.’

Suddenly, Choi Jigu’s face from last night came to mind. His back as he carried me down the stairs, and the way his eyes sparkled, those came to mind too. And the pleasant scent that always came from him. That was probably the scent of his pheromones.

Ding-dong. Ding-dong. Just then, the doorbell interrupted.

What, at this hour? Lying flat on his back staring at the ceiling, Lee Yuseong doubted his own ears. Who on earth would come to the studio apartment of Lee Yuseong the outsider at 7:30 in the morning?

“…”

They must have come to the wrong place. Lee Yuseong decided to quietly keep his mouth shut.

Ding-dong. The doorbell rang again.

“…”

Ding-dong. Ding-dong. Ding-dong. Ding-dong. Ding-dong. Ding-dong. Ding-dong. The doorbell rang incessantly, one after another.

‘Is this a lunatic?’

Lee Yuseong threw off his blanket and got up.

“Who is it.”

Aside from his own sleep being chased away, at this rate, complaints from the neighbors would come flooding in.

Click. The doorbell sound stopped. Lee Yuseong strode over and peered outside through the peephole.

What was visible there was a human eye.

“…&^!@#^&!”

Horrified, Lee Yuseong let out a shriek. Thud! So greatly startled, he even fell flat on his backside.

From beyond the front door, a frantic voice rang out.

Hey! Are you okay?

Lee Yuseong knew this voice. Now, he felt he could recognize who it was just by the voice.

Yuseong muttered quietly.

“I’m sick of this…”

What? I couldn’t hear you well.

It wasn’t meant for you to hear. Letting out a sigh and sweeping back the hair from his forehead, Lee Yuseong staggered to his feet. His lower back was stinging.

He opened the door only a handspan wide and peered out.

“I heard a loud noise….”

The bright face, which stopped its murmuring, smiled as if glad the moment it saw Lee Yuseong. Sunlight shone from behind him.

“Hello, Lee Yuseong. Good morning.”

It was as expected. Choi Jigu was standing there.

A white shirt, a black leather jacket, and jeans. Even in simple attire, as if saying the completion of fashion is the face, and even more so the physique, Choi Jigu’s figure, with his broad shoulders and long limbs standing out especially, was close to perfection.

The very picture of a popular guy, no matter who looked.

“What is it from the morning.”

Seeing that sight, it felt as if the unresolved nausea from the previous night was rising the moment he saw him. Yuseong frowned and openly showed his displeasure.

“I came to go to school.”

“This isn’t the school.”

“I stopped by on the way to school.”

“Do you think my house is some kind of drive-thru? That you can just drop by on the way? Customer, there’s nothing here to give you, so just go home.”

Choi Jigu, who had been staring blankly down at Yuseong reciting this with a sulky face, let out a low laugh.

“Haha. When you watch him quietly, you’re subtly humorous.”

What kind of nonsense was this now. The big dog-like guy was yapping like a dog.

Lee Yuseong had not the slightest intention of exercising humor in front of him, and before that, he was someone who didn’t know the first thing about humor. Of course, only Lee Yuseong himself believed that he was an ordinary and plain person.

“You got hurt yesterday, so I came to take you to school.”

Choi Jigu looked Lee Yuseong up and down. It was a gaze checking if he had hurt himself anywhere else because of that loud noise from earlier.

Lee Yuseong absolutely did not want to be found out that he had fallen on his backside, startled because of this guy. So he rebuked him.

“There are two problems with you right now.”

“Oh, as many as two? But could you open the door a little more?”

Through the handspan-wide gap, Choi Jigu drooped his eyebrows and made a pitiful expression. Looking at that face, the memories of last night surfaced, and Yuseong felt his resolve weakening.

This wicked bastard. He’s using tricks again. As if I’d fall for it.

“One. Why do you press your eye to someone else’s peephole and look in.”

“Ah, that. I figured you, of all people, would definitely use that to check who it was.”

Lee Yuseong had meant to scold Choi Jigu, but instead, it turned into Choi Jigu making him realize that he had been right.

This isn’t how it’s supposed to go?

Refusing to back down, he opened his mouth to give him one firm, decisive remark, but in an instant, Choi Jigu put on a dejected expression.

“But it seems I startled you. Sorry.”

“…”

All the harsh words stuck fast in his mouth. Yuseong wasn’t the type to say anything harsh to someone who even apologized with that kind of expression.

“…Really, sorry.”

Choi Jigu drove the point home once more.

Now Lee Yuseong was starting to feel sorry himself. He had no idea why he was feeling apologetic, but looking at that face of his made him sorry.

“Really.”

Before he could utter a third apology, Lee Yuseong flung the door wide open, cutting him off.

“You don’t have to keep saying sorry.”

Choi Jigu’s eyes widened, as he hadn’t thought this would be the moment to open the door. Only then did he take in Lee Yuseong’s face at a glance. As if he hadn’t been up for long, his face was puffy like a dumpling, and his hair was disheveled like a magpie’s nest. Compared to the firm expression and the way he spoke so decisively, it was a ridiculously insignificant sight.

‘Why is he acting cute.’

Choi Jigu reflexively covered his mouth. It was hard to suppress his laughter, but Lee Yuseong had made the effort to open the door, so he couldn’t ruin everything by laughing uncontrollably.

As if granting him entry into his home, Lee Yuseong limped inside, teetering and tottering.

Watching him from behind, Choi Jigu rubbed his own lips. He had guessed that saying sorry multiple times would work, but he hadn’t known it would be this effective. Nor that he would get to see such an adorable sight.

Following him inside the entrance, Choi Jigu closed the door and asked.

“Does your foot hurt a lot?”

“…”

No answer. It seemed he couldn’t bring himself to say no.

Lee Yuseong, who had been glaring at him for no reason, looked in the mirror hanging on the wall and flinched in shock. His appearance was a mess. He hurriedly grabbed a comb and tried to brush his hair, but his hair just kept sticking up more and more wildly.

Watching him, Choi Jigu quietly bowed his head. He kept almost bursting into laughter.

‘What on earth makes him so cute.’

He pressed his lips tightly together and was even holding his breath, when Lee Yuseong, who had quickly thrown a towel over his head, demanded as if threatening him.

“Why did you come to my house.”

“Huh? I came to take you to school.”

“I can go by myself.”

“With that foot?”

Choi Jigu pointed to Lee Yuseong’s foot, which was wrapped round and round with bandages.

“I have to go. What can I do.”

His voice, speaking sulkily, was firm. The way he glared while wearing a soft white towel draped over his head made him look just like a Maltese. A Maltese that snaps without restraint, but is so insignificant in itself that it can only be cute.

“Until your foot gets better, I’ll give you a ride.”

“…A ride? What kind of ride?”

Discerning that he meant riding on that horrible bike, Lee Yuseong eyed Choi Jigu warily.

“We’re in the same department anyway, and our classes overlap. Wouldn’t it be better to get help than to struggle alone?”

He was right. At this logical approach, Lee Yuseong grew quiet.

Grasping that it was working, Choi Jigu drove the point home.

“If you go with me, it’s free. If you take a taxi, it’s five thousand won each time.”

∞ ∞ ∞

Lee Yuseong surrendered to money and became a slave to capitalism.

He ended up going to school with Choi Jigu every morning.
