Flower Fiancé Chapter 124
Ji Yeonwoo, feeling the light, opened his eyes slightly. A thin ray of light was seeping through the blackout curtains hung in the bedroom. Ji Yeonwoo, whose eyes were dazzled by the light unfortunately directed at his face, shifted his body.
A heavy weight was felt around his narrow waist. Turning his head back with only one eye barely open, he saw Choi Moohyuk asleep holding him. Choi Moohyuk, wearing only drawers just like him, had one arm stretched out as a pillow and the other wrapped around his waist. His arm must be sore from sleeping like that all night, but looking at his sleeping face without any sign of discomfort made Ji Yeonwoo feel both reassured and sorry.
“You don’t have a furrowed brow anymore.”
Ji Yeonwoo, staring intently at Choi Moohyuk’s face, murmured softly and smiled. Even in the early days of their marriage, Choi Moohyuk’s face hadn’t been relaxed even when asleep. Usually, people’s expressions loosen up when they fall asleep, but he used to have a slight frown between his brows even after falling asleep, as if tense. There could be several reasons, but perhaps it was because he had just become the representative of the company and, on top of that, was pregnant, feeling a great deal of responsibility.
‘Seeing him with such a relaxed face probably means he’s psychologically stable to that extent.’
Just thinking about it was a happy and peaceful imagination. Ji Yeonwoo, lost in thought with a smile on his lips, covered his mouth with his palm and let out a long yawn.
At that moment, a touch entwined around his bare skin like a vine. The arm he was lying on folded, enveloping his shoulder and the back of his head, and the arm placed on his waist tightened, pulling him close into an embrace.
Letting out a short gasp of surprise, Ji Yeonwoo lifted his head in bewilderment. The drowsy sleeping face contorted slightly and then came to rest on Ji Yeonwoo’s crown.
“Why are you already awake? Aren’t you tired?”
Choi Moohyuk, rubbing his forehead against Ji Yeonwoo’s rustling hair, pressed his lips to the corner of his long, slender eye. His languid, sleepy voice was sexy.
Ji Yeonwoo, who had been passively receiving affectionate gestures like stamping kisses all over his face, wrapped his arms around Choi Moohyuk’s waist and nestled into his embrace.
“I am tired, but the light was too bright.”
Choi Moohyuk, who had been slowly stroking the back of Ji Yeonwoo’s head, reached out his other hand and picked up the phone on the nightstand. After turning on the screen to check the time, he set it down carelessly beside the bed and pulled Ji Yeonwoo back into his arms.
“It’s not time to get up yet. You can sleep more.”
“What time is it?”
“6:20.”
Only after hearing the time did Ji Yeonwoo nod his head.
“I’ve been waking up at this time lately.”
“I know. I guess it’s become a habit.”
“It’s nice to wake up early, though.”
“That’s true. The problem is that the whole day feels exhausting because of it.”
Even while still hazy with sleep, their back-and-forth banter came naturally. Without anyone starting first, both Choi Moohyuk and Ji Yeonwoo let out a chuckle at the end of their words, moving closer to each other and clinging more tightly.
“Should we sleep for another 30 minutes?”
Choi Moohyuk, stroking the back of Ji Yeonwoo’s head deeply, wrapped his arms around his rounded shoulders. Ji Yeonwoo, who yawned so widely that tears welled up slightly, nodded.
“Hwaam, I’m still so tired.”
“There’s still time, so let’s sleep more. I’ll wake you.”
Ji Yeonwoo looked up at Choi Moohyuk and smiled, his tear-filled eyes curving upward. After squirming for a while in Choi Moohyuk’s broad embrace, Ji Yeonwoo let out a steady breath and fell back asleep.
About 40 minutes later, it was Choi Moohyuk who woke up first.
Choi Moohyuk looked at Ji Yeonwoo, who had fallen asleep just as he had been held in his arms, and gave a languid smile. He brushed away the stray hairs and kissed his white, exposed forehead.
Even with the touch, Ji Yeonwoo didn’t wake. Holding his sleep-limp body and looking down at him, his closed eyelashes didn’t even flutter.
It was a good thing that he was resting comfortably, but not even stirring when touched somehow made him feel uneasy. It could be a sign that he had been working that hard, or it might be because he had been pushed too hard the night before.
Well, he had brought the person who was struggling in the bathroom out and tormented him again, so it was only natural he’d be tired.
In the end, Choi Moohyuk laid Ji Yeonwoo down properly and swung his legs off the bed. Then he pulled the slipped blanket up to his chest, covered him, stared at his sleeping face for a moment, and pressed a kiss to his smooth forehead. Choi Moohyuk walked quietly, closed the door without a sound, and went out to the living room. In the direction he walked, there was a door decorated colorfully, unlike the others.
“Quiet.”
He stood in front of that door, listened to the sounds coming from inside, and then gently grasped the doorknob and turned it. A room illuminated by soft lighting came into view. In the carefully decorated crib, Geon-i was sleeping.
He must have tossed and turned a lot—not only had he kicked off all the blankets, but his shirt had ridden up, revealing his soft, white belly completely. Seeing that, Choi Moohyuk laughed silently as he entered, pulled the shirt down, and lifted the blanket to cover him up to his chest. One might expect him to wake at the presence, but Geon-i was still deep in dreamland.
‘Looking at this, he’s the spitting image of Ji Yeonwoo.’
While watching over sleeping Geon-i, the boy sensed his presence and woke up. He might have been fussy upon waking, but the gentle Choi Geon smiled brightly upon seeing his father, Choi Moohyuk.
As he came out to the living room holding Geon-i, he ran into Ji Yeonwoo, who was just coming out of the bedroom. Ji Yeonwoo, who had been stretching his arms out, saw Choi Moohyuk holding Geon-i and came closer.
“Good morning.”
He gave a brief kiss on Choi Moohyuk’s lips. His face, which had been heavy with fatigue, looked much more refreshed. After exchanging a loving morning greeting with eyes locked, Ji Yeonwoo naturally lowered his gaze to Geon-i in Choi Moohyuk’s arms.
“Our Geon-i, did you sleep well?”
Cupping his chubby cheeks with both hands and giving him smooching kisses, Geon-i let out a giggle.
“…Ma, mama…”
Geon-i, who couldn’t yet say “mom” properly, babbled and reached out his arms toward Ji Yeonwoo. Ji Yeonwoo smiled, meeting Choi Moohyuk’s eyes, and took Geon-i into his arms.
Holding him upright against his chest, Geon-i moved his head around here and there to find a comfortable position. He somehow looked more comfortable than when held by Choi Moohyuk. Perhaps it was only natural that he felt more secure since Ji Yeonwoo spent more time with him than Choi Moohyuk did.
“I’ll take care of Geon-i. Go get washed up.”
“Aren’t we going to work together?”
“I have some time today, so I was planning to head to work after seeing the housekeeper arrive.”
As he spoke, Ji Yeonwoo looked down at Geon-i, who was clinging firmly to his chest.
“More than anything, Geon-i doesn’t seem to want to let go.”
Receiving gentle pats on his back, Geon-i was sucking his thumb contentedly. The sight was both adorable and pitiable. Ji Yeonwoo was already worried that he might have started work too early, separating from Geon-i too soon. Watching him hold Geon-i and try to spend even a little more time with him, Choi Moohyuk stepped closer.
“How about we take Geon-i out for some fresh air this weekend?”
Ji Yeonwoo’s eyes widened.
“Oh, really? Are you sure you have time?”
“I think anywhere domestic would be fine.”
A look of excitement quickly spread across his face as he asked back in disbelief.
“I’d love that, of course. Hmm, where should we go?”
It had been noticeable that he was visibly worn out from running the shop, and now Ji Yeonwoo didn’t hide his good mood. With his face brightening, his hand patting Geon-i’s back moved faster too.
“We still have a few days until the weekend, so let’s take our time and…”
“Ah, I just remembered.”
Ji Yeonwoo, moving lightly while holding Geon-i, raised his voice as if something had come to mind.
“How about going to see the sea before it gets colder?”
“The sea?”
Choi Moohyuk asked back in surprise. Knowing that Ji Yeonwoo didn’t like the sea, the answer from his mouth was utterly unexpected.
“Are you sure? You don’t really like the sea.”
“We probably can’t even go in with this weather anyway, and more than anything, I want to show Geon-i the sea.”
Ji Yeonwoo stroked the back of Geon-i’s head, cradled in his arms, and continued.
“Just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean I can live my whole life without ever showing Geon-i the sea.”
“I’m fine with anywhere. Then I’ll have them look into a place by the sea.”
