Afterward, we moved to an upscale teahouse on the main street.

‘It looks incredibly expensive.’

The doormen standing in front of the luxurious, polished dark-brown wooden doors opened them simultaneously when they saw us.

Tap, tap.

The staff’s footsteps echoed softly and elegantly along the marble corridor, which sparkled beneath the sunlight streaming in through the windows.

And following behind them came Axion’s voice.

“Hiccup…… sniff…….”

He had stopped crying compared to earlier, but he was still whimpering.

“Has the baby calmed down a little? It’s warmer inside, so let’s go that way.”

At the gentle voice, I awkwardly nodded.

Did he just call him ‘the baby’?

What did Dazar call Axion again……?

Unlike someone else, at least this man had proper manners. Mm-hmm.

“This is a place I visit occasionally. They also have milk prepared for babies.”

“Really? Oh, this child’s name is Axion.”

“Ah.”

Morocanil, who had been walking ahead of us, suddenly stopped and turned around smoothly.

He bent down slightly to meet Axion’s eyes, then smiled warmly.

“Hello, Axion. It’s nice to meet you. My name is Morocanil.”

“Woo…… woah?”

“You were very startled earlier, weren’t you? But you’re quite brave, Axion. You’ve already stopped crying like this.”

“Uung!”

At Morocanil’s gentle voice, Axion’s eyes grew round, and he puffed out his little chest as if he understood what Morocanil was saying.

The signs of fussiness disappeared as though his mood had improved.

‘Even Axion recognizes an angel.’

Well, of course. Who could possibly feel bad when faced with those gentle eyes?

“This way, please.”

I followed Morocanil as he started walking again, and soon I spotted a small room at the very end of the corridor.

It had a different atmosphere from the other rooms I had glanced into through their open doors as we walked by.

While the other rooms had a more standardized and rigid atmosphere, this one felt more private and warm.

“Welcome, Lord Morocanil. You have a companion with you today.”

A man who appeared to be a waiter, dressed neatly in a suit, greeted us respectfully.

“Yes. Please prepare the tea I usually have…… And, my lady, is there any tea you would like?”

Morocanil asked as he pulled out a chair for me. I felt incredibly awkward being treated like this.

I hesitantly sat down and rolled my eyes around the room.

“I don’t particularly want anything. Please give me the same tea as Morocanil, and I think milk for Axion will be enough.”

“Understood.”

After taking our order, the waiter left, and at last, we sat facing each other.

“Thanks to you, Axion stopped crying.”

“Not at all. He’s such a brave little baby. His eyes keep blinking, so I think he’ll fall asleep soon.”

Just as Morocanil said, Axion gradually drifted off to sleep and grew quiet, leaving a slightly awkward atmosphere between the two of us.

‘What is this situation?’

I had wanted to find Morocanil, but I never imagined the two of us would end up sitting across from each other in an upscale teahouse like this.

Doesn’t this somehow feel like…… a blind date or something?

Wondering if I had watched too many dramas in my previous life, I scratched my cheek slightly.

Then—

“I feel a little strange. Sitting here facing you like this, my lady.”

Morocanil seemed to feel something similar, as he gave me a shy smile. Seeing that shy smile head-on made my heart ache a little.

A handsome man’s shy smile.

Somehow, it was making me feel strange.

Since I was terrible with this kind of atmosphere, I quickly changed the subject.

“There’s something I’m curious about.”

“Yes. Please ask me anything.”

“Is Morocanil a Transcendent?”

Morocanil’s eyes widened slightly before he smiled.

“Yes, I am.”

Ah-ha. I knew it.

Then Morocanil must be a noble as well.

Eishu and Kora, whom I had encountered at the temple earlier, were probably nobles too. The families of Transcendents were granted noble titles by the Imperial Family in exchange for carrying out the mission of protecting the Empire for generations.

Among them, the Siastor family, to which Dazar and Vanilla belonged, held the highest title. I wasn’t sure why, though.

I briefly considered asking about that strange group that had placed a mark on my shoulder earlier, but decided against it.

‘It’s better not to be curious about things like that at all.’

If I wanted to live a peaceful life and raise Axion properly, it would be better not to get involved with things like that.

I asked my next question.

Not something dangerous like that. This was what I was actually curious about.

“Then, does Morocanil remember his past life too? I heard there are Transcendents who remember their past lives.”

“Ah…….”

Morocanil slowly nodded.

Unlike Dazar last time, I didn’t see his expression stiffen.

“Yes. I remember my past life as well. You must have been quite curious about Transcendents.”

“A little, I suppose. It just happened that way.”

After all, the person I lived with was a Transcendent, and the child who would eventually become my daughter-in-law was also a Transcendent.

I hadn’t finished reading the booklet about them that Dazar had given me earlier, but I was still keeping it safely tucked inside my coat.

“Until recently, there were four Transcendents on this continent. But now there are five. A new Transcendent was born.”

He must have been referring to Vanilla.

“Of those five, only two remember their past lives, including me.”

Two.

So that meant only Dazar and Morocanil.

Since I couldn’t ask Dazar about his past life, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and cautiously parted my lips.

“This might be a little rude…… but may I ask you more about your past life?”

Someone who remembered their past life, just like me.

I couldn’t help wondering.

For example……

“What kind of place was the world you encountered in your previous life?”

“Hmm…….”

Yes. This was what I wanted to know.

“Did that world have magic or divine power as well? Or was it a place where science had developed more…… something like that?”

I waited for his answer with a slightly pounding heart.

Could this person also have come from Korea, like me? Could he suspect that this world was actually inside a book?

To be honest, I had gotten my hopes up a little.

“It was a place where magic and divine power were more developed than science. The environment was almost no different from the world you are living in now, my lady.”

“Ah…….”

So he didn’t have the same past life as me.

Perhaps Dazar was the same.

I felt a little disappointed.

Just then, there was a knock at the door, and the tea and milk we had ordered arrived.

As the waiter placed the teacups down, I heard the soft clinking of the tableware against the table.

“It smells wonderful.”

“Yes. It’s tea made from my favorite flower.”

Oh, flower tea.

“What’s it called?”

“Heaven.”

The name suited Morocanil remarkably well.

Whether it was a coincidence or not, Heaven.

An angel and heaven. It certainly suited him.

“It suits you. Morocanil.”

“Does it? Thank you.”

Morocanil smiled warmly as if genuinely grateful.

That devastatingly gentle smile again.

I absentmindedly rubbed the tip of my nose and continued with my questions.

“By the way, how did you know my name?”

“That’s because I also attended His Majesty the Emperor’s birthday banquet before. That was when I saw Lady Evanroar’s face for the first time. Though we didn’t exchange greetings.”

Ah, so that’s where he saw me.

Judging from the fact that he already knew my name, he must have known about this body’s infamous reputation as well.

“You entered right behind Dazar at the time.”

Oh, Dazar. Right.

Since his name had come up, I casually asked,

“Um, Morocanil…… the other person who remembers his past life, along with you, is Duke Dazar Siastor…… right?”

Morocanil’s expression changed slightly at the mention of Dazar’s name. His lips tightened a little, and his eyes narrowed. It was a colder expression than anything I had seen from him before.

“That’s right. He remembers his past life as well.”

Though his expression didn’t look particularly pleasant, and it was admittedly a somewhat rude question—

Morocanil still answered politely.

“If it’s difficult to answer, you don’t have to. I’m asking a rather rude question, aren’t I?”

I said with a light laugh, and Morocanil shook his head.

“It’s all right. For some reason, I feel like I want to answer anything you ask, my lady.”

“Uh…… yes?”

“Ah.”

A faint blush spread across Morocanil’s face.

Ugh. A handsome man blushing shyly.

My heart took another direct hit, so I deliberately looked away.

As though telling me not to misunderstand, he lightly waved his hand.

“You’re a little different from other people, my lady. It was the same when we met at the shop that time. How should I put it? You’re comfortable…… I suppose. Or perhaps you make other people lower their walls.”

Is that a compliment?

It didn’t mean I was so weird that he simply felt comfortable around me, did it?

Perhaps because I had lived such a rough and shameless life thanks to this body’s infamous reputation, I couldn’t help feeling like his words didn’t sound much like a compliment.

If it really was a compliment, that was strange in its own way.

He finds me comfortable? Me? The infamous me?

Morocanil, whom I had only thought of as a gentle angel until now, suddenly seemed a little four-dimensional.

I smiled awkwardly and moved my hand toward the inner collar of my coat.

‘Now that Axion has calmed down, I should take care of what I came here for and head back.’

The waiter had thoughtfully noticed that Axion had fallen asleep and put the milk into a glass bottle, so I could simply take it with me when I left.

I was just about to take out the pouch containing Morocanil’s stone from inside my coat.

Morocanil seemed to ponder something for a moment before casually speaking.

“And Dazar is someone who could be called my companion…… from our previous lives as well.”

A companion?

Did that mean they had existed in the same world in their previous lives?

Just as I widened my eyes and was about to ask another question—

“Who would call someone like you a companion?”

A voice filled with anger suddenly came from beside us.
