The Baby Fairy is A Villain Chapter 35
She was about to just ignore it and let it go.
But after hearing Ishuel’s story, her pride was completely shattered.
‘And how dare you have the nerve to steal my stuff!’
Since even the hat Hata had made was taken, there was no way she could just stand by and do nothing.
She didn’t know where their houses were, but she felt she absolutely had to wear something cooler than them, and shock everyone at the banquet.
Not something they had worn, it had to be something completely new.
‘If I run into the ones who stole the clothes at the banquet, I’ll make sure they regret ever touching them.’
It wasn’t just an emotional decision, either.
‘It’s also necessary to go with the twins to the Backworld and observe it.’
If visiting a hat shop and boutique served as an excuse to enter the Backworld with the twins.
She might be able to gather clues about how Basilian was connected to it.
So, the next day, Chesha went to find the twins first.
“What the, baby, you came?”
“Little sis come find us first?”
Karha and Ishuel looked awkward in the unexpected situation.
It was always the twins who came to find Chesha first.
Barging into her room early in the morning just to bother her.
In front of the twins, Chesha raised one hand and said.
“I wanna go choo.”
“Where?”
“To where older bwothers are gowing today.”
“Huh…? The backworld? Baby want to go there? It’s dangerous there, though.”
Karha lightly jabbed Ishuel with his elbow.
It meant, ‘try stopping her’.
Ishuel tried to persuade Chesha sincerely.
“You can’t. That place is dangerous enough that even a slight mistake can lead to something terrible.”
And yet, the witch fairy who had made a name for herself even in such a dangerous place was Chesha.
Chesha stared straight ahead and said firmly.
“But older bwothers can pwotect me.”
It wasn’t an exaggeration at all.
Chesha had already seen the skills of both Karha and Ishuel firsthand.
When the twins were together, they could easily shrug off most petty trouble in the Backworld.
And even if something did happen, they had more than enough strength to handle it, and escape unharmed.
It seemed the twins were thinking the same thing.
“Well, yeah, that’s true.”
Karha and Ishuel exchanged glances.
As the twins hesitated to respond, Chesha lowered her eyes, looking as if she were about to sulk.
With her lips slightly pouting, she spoke in a soft, sorrowful voice.
“I weally want to go… Pwease take me with the older bwothers too…”
“…Uugh.”
Karha was caught off guard by Chesha’s sudden burst of cuteness as she pleaded to go with the older brothers.
After a brief moment of thought, he made up his mind.
“Let’s take her with us!”
“Are you crazy?”
As Ishuel protested, Karha began persuading him fervently.
“Come on, think about it. She’s never really gone out properly since we brought her in.”
“Her first outing being to the Backworld…”
“Isn’t that just how things go when it comes to Basilian?”
“Haa.”
Ishuel let out a deep sigh.
He was reluctant, but he wasn’t objecting outright anymore.
Deep down, he also wanted to go out with Chesha.
“It’s good for her to try on the hat herself.”
They had ordered hats for their father and older brother many times, so the process was already familiar to them.
But this was their youngest sister’s first custom order, which was why the feeling hadn’t come yet.
Ishuel’s heart was already leaning toward taking Chesha along.
Karha glanced around Chesha’s surroundings and asked casually,
“But, little sis.”
“Yes?”
“Where did the dog go?”
The puppy had gone to open the store.
Most likely, he was in the middle of working hard on preparing Chesha’s hat.
Chesha lied with a playful smile.
“I let the puppy out to pway?”
“Really?”
Karha thought, as she let the dog out, he secretly hoped it would just disappear for good.
Although he had agreed to raise the dog because of Chesha, it looked like he still hadn’t fully recovered from the blow Hata had given him.
“It’ll be less stressful for a dog that’s used to being outside than staying trapped indoors.”
Ishuel offered his own analysis about Hata’s reclusive behavior.
Chesha nodded in enthusiastic agreement with Ishuel’s reasoning.
Karha, who had no interest in the psychology of dogs, gave a half-hearted response, then suddenly widened his eyes.
“But we’re taking baby to the Backworld. Belzeon would be totally angry, wouldn’t he?”
“…Ah, oldest brother’s going to scold us.”
The twins looked at each other at the same time.
Then they both smirked.
Wearing identical mischievous grins, they whistled casually and said,
“As long as we don’t get caught!”
***
Coincidentally, today was a day when Belzeon would be away from home.
Kiern, as usual, had already vacated the house.
Even though they had mentioned in advance that they’d be going out, the twins boldly stepped outside.
The servants couldn’t stop the noble children from taking such a young child with them, though they did cast worried glances.
They looked at Chesha with nothing but concern in their eyes.
Chesha felt as if she could hear the voices in their hearts.
‘Please say you hate going, young miss!’
But Chesha, whose desire to go soared to the sky, pretended not to notice.
The twins didn’t use the Basilian private carriage, but had arranged for a rented wagon in advance.
They boarded it from a side road a short distance from the castle. The coachman seemed slightly nervous.
He didn’t know that the passengers heading to the Backworld were just two small boys and a toddler who looked like she’d been born yesterday.
All three wore hooded robes, but their small builds clearly marked them as children.
The coachman kept glancing back, as if he had something to say.
But when he caught sight of the two swords hanging from Karha’s waist, he shut his mouth and focused on the reins.
“You may get off here.”
He dropped the young passengers off at the entrance to the Backworld.
Even as he accepted his fare and drove away, he kept glancing back, concern written on his face.
Karha gave a small shrug and said,
“Baby’s so cute, he couldn’t stop staring.”
It was a dry joke.
But with her hood pulled low over her face, it was hard to believe anyone could even tell whether she was cute.
Still, it seemed Chesha was the only one who realized it was a joke.
“Isn’t it obvious?”
Ishuel accepted it as if it were only natural.
With Chesha in one arm and an umbrella in the other, he walked forward.
Even though he wore a hood, it felt so typical of Ishuel to go as far as carrying an umbrella.
Karha followed behind him with light steps.
The Backworld was a large, circular area marked by a natural boundary.
As if someone had neatly carved out a section of land, the flower-strewn, weedy path abruptly gave way to a wide circle of yellow soil.
There was no sign to mark the entrance to the Backworld, but the moment one stepped onto the cracked dirt, it was unmistakable.
This was the Backworld.
Shops began to open one by one, starting from the farthest edge.
It was just before dusk—when the streets slowly filled with the energy of nightlife.
Even the shopkeepers were beginning to prepare their stalls.
“Follow me.”
Karha strode forward confidently.
Chesha clung to Ishuel, carefully observing the twins’ demeanor.
They moved through the unfamiliar streets as if they belonged there.
To newcomers, the Backworld’s streets were bound to feel surprising and strange.
The atmosphere was entirely different, like stepping into another realm.
Monstrosity. Strangeness. Bizarreness.
A space made for all kinds of strange rumors and mysteries, that was the Backworld.
The appearance of the shops was also distinct, unlike the outer district.
Except for Hata’s hat shop. That one stood alone.
The twins, who stopped in front of the shop, tilted their heads and stared up at the modest sign.
〈Hata’s Hat Shop〉
The shop, decorated to Hata’s taste with a velvet armchair and other luxurious touches, felt distinctly different from the eerily decorated stores of the Backworld. It alone gave off a uniquely adorable atmosphere.
Even Ishuel, who wasn’t easily fazed, blinked rapidly in surprise at its overly cutesy appearance.
“It is here?”
“Here it is.”
While Ishuel was still examining the shop’s exterior, Karha casually pushed open the door.
A small note hanging on the door fluttered weakly, as if it might tear at any moment.
The twins stepped into the shop.
Though it had once been messy, the shop was now neatly organized.
Seeing the hats arranged inside, Ishuel’s eyes widened.
“There’s no one here?”
When Ishuel spoke in a slightly raised voice, a muffled response came from behind an inner door.
“Welcome…”
And then Hata slowly opened the door and came out.
As soon as she saw Hata, Chesha held back a laugh.
Trying to look like the rightful owner of a stylish hat shop, Hata was dressed in a tuxedo, complete with a butterfly tie and even a fedora.
On his chest, a tiny boutonniere made of sweet-smelling flowers was tucked into his vest.
Fearing it would be noticed by Karha, who had a beast-like nose, Hata had masked his usual body odor with a strong floral scent.
The flower was one Chesha had crafted using her fairy magic, so it was far fresher and more fragrant than normal flowers.
Though the scent should’ve been more than enough to cover the odor, Hata still looked anxious, nervously rolling his eyes.
He seemed worried he might get caught.
“Huh?”
Karha furrowed his brows as soon as he saw Hata.
Walking up to the wall, Karha looked Hata up and down.
As he came closer, Hata let out a strange wheeze and froze in place.
After staring at Hata for a moment, Karha murmured quietly.
