The Baby Fairy is A Villain Chapter 54
Hearing his words, Chesha couldn’t help but think,
‘Something’s definitely going wrong here.’
At first, it had just been funny—being mistaken for Richesia’s daughter was ridiculous.
But now, the direction of the conversation felt… off.
Was he trying to track down Chesha’s “real” father—someone who didn’t even exist?
Imprisoned in the heretic interrogation room of the infamous Great Temple dungeon.
Lightly tortured and harassed for about a month.
And then, finally, killed in some cruel, miserable, and horrifying way.
Chesha rolled her eyes.
Just in case someone strict took things the wrong way, she decided to give the textbook answer… for now.
“I don’t know fah-der…”
Then Hilon smiled lightly.
It was a smile that seemed to know things even Chesha didn’t.
“….”
A chill ran down her spine.
In that moment, she felt as if she had just gotten a glimpse of what it was like to be one of the prisoners locked in the interrogation room.
‘He really went easy on me.’
The witch fairy Richesia had been caught and interrogated by Hilon more than a few times.
But not once had she truly suffered.
To be honest, the interrogation she had gone through was child’s play compared to the chill she felt from Hilon’s smile just now.
‘Of course, she had gone easy on Hilon, too.’
If it had been anyone else, they might have met an axe, but Hilon had always let things slide when it came to her.
Either way, if he asked about her biological father, she had no answer to give.
She was still trying to think of a response, but thankfully, Hilon didn’t press the question any further.
Instead, he took Chesha and led her to the dining hall.
The spacious communal dining room was used by the holy knights assigned to the temple.
One side of the hall held the kitchen, where food was stacked high like a mountain—
a self-serve setup where people could pile whatever they wanted onto their plates.
Even though it was a bit past lunchtime, the hall was still crowded.
It felt like more and more people were gradually gathering.
‘Did they come just to see Hilon?’
Despite the intense gazes directed his way, Hilon simply joined the other knights in line to receive food.
As a first-rank holy knight, he easily could have had his meals brought to his room—yet here he was.
She had once fought him to the death, but this was her first time seeing how he lived his everyday life.
She found herself watching him with the same curiosity as everyone else.
While she was quietly enjoying the view, Hata wore a thoroughly displeased expression.
Even if she told herself it was necessary to hide from Kiern by entering the temple.
She hadn’t expected they’d end up eating together too.
When Hata let out a disgruntled grunt, she gently patted his body.
Even so, the puppy wouldn’t settle and buried his face in her arms, clearly refusing to even look at Hilon.
He didn’t want to be separated from her, so she had no choice but to set him in the chair right beside her.
She expected someone to say something—after all, it went against proper dining etiquette.
But no one scolded her.
To be more accurate, it seemed there was nothing to scold at all.
Everyone in the dining hall was too busy staring at Hilon to notice the puppy eating meat beside Chesha.
Hilon was being friendly.
And that was the problem.
If he had just acted like his usual self, no one would’ve paid much attention—but the moment he stepped out of character, interest spread like wildfire.
He had placed Chesha on his lap and began preparing her meal himself.
He even tied a napkin around her neck and used a teaspoon—rather than baby utensils—to feed her.
He scooped up some mashed potatoes and gently brought the spoon to her mouth.
“Eat.”
Hilon didn’t seem to be aware of how strange his behavior was.
Everyone around him stared in stunned silence, mouths agape at the unexpected display, yet he merely raised a single eyebrow, as if they were the ones acting odd.
Chesha felt the weight of all those eyes.
She hesitated before responding, overwhelmed by the pressure.
“I can do it by mysewf.”
“You?”
His eyes shifted to Chesha’s hand.
When he saw her tiny fingers, his brow furrowed in clear doubt
As if silently asking, ‘How are you supposed to hold a spoon with that?’
‘I can still hold a teaspoon!’
Chesha had put in a lot of effort to adjust to her baby body.
She could handle a teaspoon just fine.
She could even use two at once—one in each hand—just like Karha with his twin swords.
Of course, that was against proper dining etiquette, so she had been holding back.
But still, Hilon didn’t believe her.
He simply held the teaspoon firmly in front of her lips.
She had no choice but to open her mouth and take it.
From that moment on, she just kept eating whatever Hilon fed her—like a baby bird being hand-fed.
‘So embarrassing…’
As she chewed on the small bites of beef, she glanced around cautiously.
She thought people might shake their heads and mutter, ‘tsk tsk, what a spoiled baby’.
The reaction was the opposite.
Those who were already familiar with Hilon’s usual behavior had begun whispering about her instead.
“But don’t you think that teaspoon is too big? Her whole mouth’s full.”
“He really should’ve cut the meat smaller…”
Then, when Hilon gently wiped her mouth with a napkin, they gasped in alarm.
“Did he wipe that hard?”
“Sir Hilon has no idea how to control his strength!”
“He’s not… tearing flesh, right?”
Chesha wrinkled her nose.
As she listened quietly, the whispers were starting to sound more and more ridiculous.
This was a place filled entirely with knights who had trained their bodies to the limit.
Surrounded by men and women with strong, solid builds, she seemed even more fragile in their eyes.
They looked at her like she might shatter if tapped on the forehead with a teaspoon.
‘If I just hit one of them, that misunderstanding would clear up real fast.’
She seriously considered it for a moment.
When Chesha saw a female knight at the next table casually split an apple in half with one hand, she immediately gave up on her earlier thoughts.
Yeah… in this place, she did look like the weak one.
‘Let’s just eat quietly.’
Surrendering to the situation, she simply went with the flow, eating whatever Hilon handed her.
After the long meal, Hilon gave her a small piece of fruit for dessert.
As she nibbled on a sweet flat peach, people began sneaking over little by little.
Finally, someone brave—or reckless—enough to risk her life out of sheer curiosity approached Hilon and asked.
“Sir Hilon, what’s with the baby? Is she new at the temple nursery?”
It seemed the knights had silently agreed to send her as their representative.
The knight—broad-shouldered, copper-skinned, and confident—opened her hand and looked between Hilon and Chesha.
“She’s so small… white… sparkly… pretty.”
The string of descriptors felt a bit much.
When her gaze met Chesha’s, who was still nibbling on a peach, a smile spread across her face before she could stop it.
“Aww, so cute.”
It was the kind of exclamation that slipped out before anyone could think twice.
Chesha had always been generous to those who admired her appearance.
So she flashed the knight a bright smile.
“Ssank you!”
When she added a cheerful greeting, the knight looked absolutely delighted.
But the joy didn’t last long.
“This child is under temporary protection. Don’t bother her.”
Hilon’s cold voice cut in, sharp and firm.
He may have treated Chesha gently today, but by nature, he was as distant as a glacier in the far north.
“Ah—sorry! I’ll be careful!”
The knight quickly straightened up, gave a respectful salute, and slunk back to her seat with a quiet groan.
Hilon stood up with Chesha in his arms.
With one hand, he picked up the puppy from the seat beside him and handed it over to her.
Then, without a word, he left the dining hall and began walking somewhere.
‘He’s not taking me to the interrogation room after feeding me… right?’
No one else would have thought that.
But since the man in question was the Heresy Inquisitor, her mind immediately leapt to the worst.
Especially considering the long list of sins she’d committed by now.
Nervously, Chesha glanced up at Hilon and asked a question.
“Where we gowing?”
