Waiting For Your Reincarnation Chapter 100
“How do you know about Negro?”
Yeon-young furrowed her brow and scanned her surroundings.
No matter how many times she looked around the room, she couldn’t detect any sign of Snarl or his aura.
She leaned in a little closer, her hand resting on her bracelet.
The man was clutching his head so tightly that the veins on the back of his hand stood out as if he were suffering from a headache.
His eyes, staring into space, were tinged with a certain madness.
Yeon-young swallowed her nerves and spoke one more time.
“We’re in an emergency, and we need to get to the shelter as soon as possible.”
“Kkkk…”
The man who heard her voice burst out laughing. He was staring at Yeon-young with a plastic look in his eyes.
Her fingertips trembled slightly as she wondered why he was giving her such a malicious look.
The man’s expression changed from moment to moment. He smiled in amusement, then contorted his face in anger.
His rapidly changing demeanor left Yeon-young stuck, unable to do anything about it.
“Yeon-young Kim. Kim Yeon-young. Kim Yeon…”
A chill ran down her spine as she heard the name.
The man’s words slurred like an unwrapped toy, and he let out a bizarre groan.
She could see the purple core in the man’s palm surging inside his body.
Black energy seeped into the core, which was swelling like a balloon about to burst.
“…Huh? No, why.”
Yeon-young looked at the man with puzzlement in her eyes.
Obviously, she couldn’t sense Snarl’s aura inside the safe room, so why did he look like a soul in the process of being Snarled?
His toes twitched, slowly losing their shape. Half of his body was blackened and corrupted, blurring like smoke.
The man was becoming a Snarl.
Yeon-young quickly searched the pockets of her coat. She hoped to find a spare potion, but the pockets were empty.
“Shit.”
“Help me…”
The man’s eyes cleared for the briefest of moments.
He grabbed Yeon-young’s arm in desperation, screaming for help over and over again.
“I’m going to help you, just calm down a bit. Ugh.”
That was it.
The man blacked out again and began to snap, his wrists aching from his grip.
‘What the hell was going on inside the center?’
Yeon-young pulled out her gun and disengaged the safety.
In wartime, they don’t save souls that have been snuffed out. She replayed the manual in her head.
It was then.
“Uh…, uh…!”
The hand against Yeon-young’s skin gradually returned to its original form.
She stared at him, unable to hide her surprise. The snarling hadn’t stopped yet.
But sure enough, the spot where she had touched Yeon-young had not only stopped snapping, but had returned to its original shape.
She reached out with her other hand and touched his leg where the snarling was most severe.
“It’s coming back.”
The blackness slowly dissipated, like oil being removed. Her distorted appearance slowly began to return to normal.
Yeon-Young blinked her eyes slowly. Her mind flashed back to the many times she had come into contact with a Snarl.
Snarl, Diane, and even Ryu Won, whose core was sometimes blackened.
Touching Yeon-young had purified the Snarl like an ordinary soul.
They say that when a coincidence repeats itself many times, it can no longer be dismissed as a coincidence.
After a moment’s hesitation, Yeon-young pursed her lips as if deciding something.
She placed her hand on the man’s core. A sickening sensation rose from deep within her chest.
She didn’t know what to do, but her instincts told her to push the sticky, cold sensation away.
“Please…”
She took a deep breath, drawing on her core energy.
With the energy circulating through her, she pushed the cold sensation away bit by bit.
Then she slowly funneled it into where the man was.
Yeon-young cautiously opened her eyes. A small smile spread across her face.
As the pale pink spring-like energy seeped into him, the man’s body truly began to return to normal.
The snarl that had begun was being cleansed.
She looked down at her palms in disbelief.
‘What was this power she had? Where did it come from?’
“Are you okay?”
“Where am I?”
“Are you awake? This is the stabilization room.”
“Oh…, right. I was hospitalized, but what happened? Ugh, what’s with all these sirens.”
“There’s a Snarl infiltration in Branch 1, and you need to evacuate.”
“S-Snarl?”
“Yep. So, I know it’s hard but get up.”
Yeon-young grabbed his arm and helped him up.
Unlike Diane, the man didn’t make a sound or look at her, obediently following her instructions.
After a moment’s hesitation, she opened the emergency exit portal instead of the shelter.
It was clean, but she felt the need to isolate him for the time being.
“Did something happen in the emergency room before I got here?”
“No, nothing much happened. Why?”
“Because there were no souls in the ER, just in case…”
“Maybe they’ve all evacuated?”
“I hope so, but… Please evacuate to the emergency exit and stay there.”
Yeon-young pushed the man through the portal, shaking off her nervousness.
She stepped out of the stabilizer room and checked the remaining rooms again.
But she found no more souls.
“Where is the Chairman? Has she been discharged?”
The sudden invasion of Branch 1 and the missing spirits. Something was not right.
*Ting*
A red light floated above Yeon-young’s bracelet. She checked the bracelet and saw that it was from Zhaolin.
[Lobby Gathering]
After confirming the message, Yeon-young turned and ran out of the stable hallway.
Boom!
The center building shook violently. Yeon-young barely managed to steady herself as she clutched the capsule inside the emergency room.
The tremors only grew stronger and refused to subside.
“Secondary intrusion?”
The building shuddered, and she could feel the ground beneath her shifting slightly.
Yeon-young sucked in a breath, her heart pounding in her chest.
“I need your help.”
“Yes?”
She turned her head to find the owner of the clear voice, and saw the woman hiding behind the capsule.
She must have taken shelter here during the Snarl attack.
The woman was squatting flat on the ground.
Yeon-young stood up and walked over to check on her.
BANG!
With a sharp, ear-piercing roar, the wall of the emergency room was ripped away.
Through the shattered wall, she could see the deformed Snarls.
At first glance, there were even more of them than before, clinging to the walls.
They looked like maggots lunging at their prey.
Yeon-young slowly backed away, feeling the hairs on her body stand on end.
“Kim Yeon-young. Kim Yeon-young. Kim Yeon-young.”
She heard their mantra-like whispers.
Her mind went white as she came face to face with black eyes that were like a black hole.
Seeing through her charade, they rushed her to the emergency room.
As if she was the only one they were after in the first place.
She tapped the surface of her bracelet impatiently, activating her teleportation.
*Shhhh*
But they were much faster in their rush to her.
The mutated Snarls were more cunning than she’d seen before, acting as if they had intelligence.
Bang!
Yeon-young calmly created a safe distance, firing at the Snarl’s core with her gun.
If they could just get to the lobby, they’d have a way out.
Tang-
Snarl’s breathing and Yeon-Young’s gunfire mingled in the emergency room.
“It’s never ending. I have to think of another way.”
Yeon-young checked her ammunition. There wasn’t much left.
Tension blurred her vision.
On all sides, the Snarls were closing in, tightening the circle, and there was no way out.
She felt her eyes glaze over.
‘Please… Use your heads. Please.’
BANG!
The walls of the emergency room shattered. The sound was like a death sentence.
If more Snarls came from here, Yeon-young’s escape route would be completely blocked.
“Ms. Yeon-young.”
Just as she was about to give up and stand still, she heard a voice she desperately missed.
A warm breeze hovered around her, instantly relieving the tension.
Yeon-young opened her eyes slowly.
“Mr. Ryu Won.”
Stepping over the remnants of a broken wall, Ryu Won entered the emergency room with her.
His back to the sunlight, he created certain illusions.
Like the illusion that he was radiating light.
With each step Ryu Won took, the Snarl, who was closest to her, fell to the ground.
He looked like a hunter enjoying the hunt.
The difference in strength was overwhelming. The tension in her body drained away at his arrival.
“Why did you turn off the comms?”
“Ah…, ah…! I only meant to turn it off for a moment…!”
“I’m anxious because I’m not with you, but I can’t contact you, and the Snarls who are supposed to be in Branch 2 are actually invading Branch 1. This sucks.”
Ryu Won muttered to himself like a sigh.
Yeon-young didn’t even dare to swallow her saliva at his chilling tone.
“How do you want me to grab and hang on to you so you can catch you?”
“…….”
“Huh?”
With those words, every single Snarl in front of Yeon-young was neatly annihilated.
Still, Ryu Won’s red glowing eyes told her that his hunt was far from over.
