Waiting For Your Reincarnation Chapter 54
Back at Tanato, they went straight to the chairman’s office for a debriefing.
Saeri leaned back against the back of his chair, his eyes closed tightly.
For the first time in a long time, Saeri’s face looked rather tired.
Her lemon hair and flawless skin looked unusually transparent today.
“Chairman, are you all right?”
“I am a little tired. The energy of the land is bad.”
Saeri struggled to sit up.
She clenched her fists, patted her shoulders, and sat up straight.
Ryu Won reported about Idelia.
Saeri listened in silence, then let out a long sigh.
“What a headache.”
A deep frown creased Saeri’s forehead.
She usually kept a smile on her face, but this time it was hard to hide her distress.
Saeri made a mound of dirt in her hands and then let it disappear, lost in thought.
She spoke with a cold voice.
“Why did she make such a foolish decision?”
“It must have been a good reason for Idelia.”
“Truly, I will never understand such a useless sacrifice, even if I live a long time.”
Her face was uncharacteristically grim.
Saeri was not sorry for the way things had turned out, but she really didn’t understand.
She threw the dirt over the report as if she didn’t want to look at it anymore.
Ryu Won watched in disbelief.
After a moment of silence, Saeri stared at Yeon-young.
Her piercing eyes made her feel like a different person today.
“Yeon-young, do you think you would make the same decision?”
“I don’t know.”
“It’s called love.”
“But I think I will try to make the best choice.”
“You and Jihwa are so much alike.”
“Jihwa?”
She said Jihwa’s name and touched something around her neck.
It was part necklace, part pendant.
Yeon-young tilted her head at the unfamiliar name.
But Saeri looked away and didn’t answer any more questions.
Ryu Won turned his head and concentrated on the soothing sound of Yeon-young’s voice.
It was hard to give a clear answer to such a question right away.
Yeon-young had always been a person who acted from her heart and then thought.
But one thing was for sure, when she made a decision, she would try to make it the best one.
“Don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Put yourself first.”
Saeri’s words came out like a sigh.
Yeon-young nodded her head slightly.
Seeing her nod, Saeri finally allowed himself a small smile.
Saeri stood up and pulled on her uniform coat.
“I’ll take care of Idelia’s business. You’ve both had a long day. Take the day off.”
After debriefing, they headed home.
* * *
They’d only been gone two days, but it felt like they were back in a room they’d missed.
Yeon-young felt like this was her home now, even though she was just a transient.
She took off her stuffy uniform coat and took a deep breath.
“Ms. Yeon-Young, are you tired?”
“No. Why? Is something wrong?”
“Then just change into something comfortable and come back to the living room.”
“What? Is that a request?”
If Yeon-young had a tail, it would have gone straight down.
He shook his head horizontally in denial.
“I told you I have a secret place, let’s go there. Get dressed and meet me in front of the house.”
With these significant words, Ryu Won went to his room first.
As she climbed the stairs to the second floor, Yeon-young tried to guess where this place might be.
She had no idea where she was going, but since she had been to the center, the forest, Ryu Won’s house, and the village since she arrived, she had no idea where she would end up.
When she opened her door on the second floor, Yeon-young suddenly had a question.
“I don’t have any clothes.”
The only clothes she’d worn since arriving on Tanato’s world were her high-performance uniforms.
‘Was he going to tell her to change out of her uniform?’
She thought about what Ryu Won had said.
Frowning slightly, she opened the door to the closet in her room, which was supposed to be empty, but instead was filled with colorful clothes hung by type.
On the far right of the hangers was the dress she had worn to the festival.
Yeon-young’s mouth dropped open when she opened the bottom drawer of the closet.
Inside the drawer was a neat collection of clothes, including jeans and socks.
They were very similar to the ones she had worn in her former life.
“Did Mr. Ryu Won buy all this? It’s creepy.”
How he knew her tastes and prepared for her.
The clothes he had stocked all matched her taste.
Colorful clothes filled the closet, but it was hard to choose.
She rummaged through her closet and pulled out a light pink shirt dress with gold buttons.
The uniform now required her to wear pants every day, but she had always preferred long, ankle-length skirts.
“I’ll put this on and go out.”
After changing into the dress, Yeon-young checked her outfit several times and left the house.
It had been a long time since she wore a dress and it felt awkward.
Ryu Won had already changed, so he stood in the yard and stared at the forest across the street.
He wore a pair of sturdy jeans and a white t-shirt that was as clean as snow.
The little bit of flesh that showed with every movement made him look even better.
“Are you ready to go?”
“I borrowed one of your clothes, so I’ll put it on and get ready.”
“If you marry me, everything in this house will be yours.”
“I’ll leave it clean.”
Ryu Won just shrugged, unaffected by her firm words. He led her to the garage attached to the back of the mansion.
Yeon-young, who had always traveled by teleportation since she came here, scratched her head.
“Do you drive here as well?”
“Yes. I have some old habits from my previous life, and my teleportation sometimes breaks down unexpectedly, just like mine.”
Yeon-Young looked at his ring finger, which looked empty without the gem.
She winced as she remembered seeing it in the hotel.
It was a scene she didn’t want to relive too often.
The entrance to the garage was blocked by a dark gray iron gate that opens slowly as he pressed a button hidden behind the wall.
“You have good taste.”
Three cars were parked in the garage.
All three cars were neat and clean black sedans.
Ryu Won walked over to the leftmost car and opened the passenger door.
“This is the most comfortable of the three.”
Yeon-young pulled up her skirt, climbed in carefully, and fastened her seatbelt.
It wasn’t a lie that it was the most comfortable car, the backrest was as plush as lying on water.
She had a reasonable suspicion that Jaeho made cars like this, but she shook her head.
It was a waste of time to think about him on this beautiful day.
Ryu Won climbed into the car, started the engine and fastened his seatbelt.
“Shall we go?”
Ryu Won moved the steering wheel with a gentle touch and the car slowly pulled out of the garage.
The car pulled out of the mansion and onto a wide two-lane road.
The high rate of teleportation had dispelled any notion that the roads would be poorly paved.
The road, which ran through a large forest, was solidly paved.
“You’re not going to tell me where we’re going, are you?”
“It’s a secret until we get there.”
“But when did you learn how to drive?”
Yeon-Young searched Ryu Won’s memory.
It was all fragmented, but she could tell that Ryu Won had lived before the advent of cars.
“I learned because I had a job to do.”
“Really?”
“You can look around when you get here later. I have to go to the basement to have my ring repaired.”
“I see.”
Before returning to Tanato from the hotel, Yeon-young handed Ryu Won the gem of the ring.
He’d been looking for it all along, and as soon as he saw it, he was relieved.
Fortunately, Yeon-young still had her bracelet, so their return to Tanato was uneventful.
She closed her eyes, feeling the breeze through the window, and it wasn’t long before she heard his voice announcing their arrival.
“Oh?”
“Interesting, huh?”
The building, with its dark navy exterior, was as large as three large hotels combined.
A large sign on the outside wall read “Telemart” in red letters.
“The secret place is a grocery store?”
“You’ll love it.”
“But why are you taking your ring there?”
“The technician who worked on my ring told me that it was moved here.”
Ryu Won pulled into the parking lot in front of the store and opened the passenger door.
It was an unexpected place and she was excited.
As he led the way into the building, the smell of fresh produce hit her nostrils.
The entire first floor was filled with food. He put a gentle hand on Yeon-young’s shoulder.
“I’m going to the basement, so take a look around.”
“Want me to come with you?”
“No.”
“What if we get separated? We can’t communicate.”
“It’s time to stop worrying about that.”
Ryu Won gently stroked Yeon-young’s forehead with his hand and went underground.
Now that she was alone, Yeon-young explored the first floor at her own pace. He was right, it was interesting.
It was interesting to see that the entire first floor was organized by country.
Yeon-young looked around to see if there was a section for Korean ingredients.
Not knowing how to find a specific country, she checked each aisle and stopped when she spotted someone.
She saw Jaeho staring at the cereal aisle.
“Let’s go quietly.”
He glared at her, and as she sneaked past him, she locked eyes with his piercing emerald eyes.
