Transit Love After Revenge Chapter 23
Minji didn’t have a boyfriend, but there was always this guy hanging around, acting like one.
He was some thug who used to get into fights all the time. Whenever he tried to talk to Minji, that bastard would butt in like he was her boyfriend, mocking and sneering at him.
When that guy confessed to Minji and got rejected, he despised Seongjun so much. That guy acted like Seongjun was beneath him. Like Seongjun wasn’t even worth his time. Just because that guy was bigger.
Han Yoonhyuk feels similar to that guy. Not that they look alike or anything, but… that’s right. It’s the eyes. That same arrogant look. Like he’s better than everyone else. Like everyone else is trash.
That guy, Han Yoonhyuk, he’s probably no better than that bastard from back then. Decent-looking, maybe, but beyond that? Just another worthless punk.
The main PD has no sense. I mean, come on. One glance and you can tell that guy is not a good person. And yet they brought him in as the main male lead?
Unfortunately, that wasn’t even the worst of it. They told Seongjun that he had to share a room with Han Yoonhyuk.
He had been enjoying his private room until now. What the hell is he supposed to do, stuck in the same room with him? What if the beds are too close? Ugh. When are they changing accommodations again?
Seongjun stared blankly at the newly added single bed next to him. The bed was empty.
Why isn’t he here yet?
‘Don’t tell me he’s off drinking with one of the female cast members already? Gaeun and Taeri are both into me right now, he better not get in the way. Seriously.’
Seongjun jumped up, wondering if Yoonhyuk was already working on something else.
As expected, he saw Yoonhyuk drinking with someone in the dimly lit living room. But the person sitting across from him was the last one Seongjun expected.
‘Huh? Seo Haeyoung?’
What the hell? Why are those two drinking together? Just the two of them?
It wasn’t Taeri or Gaeun, who he was getting along well with, or Minji, who he had liked for a long time.
It was Haeyoung, his soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend. So then why did it feel like he had just swallowed a spoonful of shit?
He tried to join them for a drink, but the two acted weirdly guilty, like they were avoiding him.
The whole thing was seriously pissing him off.
Seongjun replayed the image in his head of Yoonhyuk and Haeyoung sitting together like that.
“F*ck.”
‘What the hell does that guy think he’s doing, flirting with my girlfriend? Has Seo Haeyoung completely lost it?’
‘She came here with me, his boyfriend. And now she’s trying to get along with another guy? Right in front of me? Did she lose her damn mind the second she saw some better-looking guy?’
Unbelievable. She said she came here to help me, to support me. Got excited just from a couple of votes, and now she is all smiles?
Minji was right. This is basically, no, this is actually cheating.
‘She wouldn’t give him her vote, would she? No way… right?’
‘Not that I need Haeyoung’s one vote, I’m already popular enough without it, but still.’
‘Anyway, Seo Haeyoung, I can’t just leave you alone, right? I have to make you come to your senses.’
He briefly wondered if maybe Haeyoung and Yoonhyuk were friends before joining the show.
But he shook off that thought. That kind of matchup didn’t make sense. Their ‘levels’ didn’t even come close.
But there aren’t any other contestants of similar level to Seo Hae-young.
Then, who did she come here with?
Did she just hire some stand-in? Or had she been secretly seeing someone all this time?
If that’s true, then that’s seriously messed up.
‘Should’ve asked earlier who she came here with. This is driving me insane.’
Yeah. This is all Seo Haeyoung’s fault. For showing up on a show like this with some stranger. For drinking alone with another guy in the middle of the night.
Every bit of it made him furious.
“Good night, Haeyoung-nim.”
Yoonhyuk’s affectionate voice rang down from the second floor, loud enough for anyone to hear. As if telling me to listen.
Seongjun suddenly got up. He threw the beer Yoonhyuk brought him into the trash can without even opening it.
The sound of Yoonhyuk washing himself was loud and grated on his nerves.
He couldn’t sleep at all.
* * *
“Ahh!”
A sudden scream jolted Haeyoung awake.
‘Ugh, again?’
The source of the scream was Minji in the next bed. Minji was curled up on the bed, her face buried in her knees. There was a hand mirror in front of her.
“Ughhh, what am I gonna do…”
Why are you acting like that?
“Ha-Haeyoung-nim? Are you awake? Haeyoung-nim!”
“Yes, what’s wrong?”
“Why did you take so long to answer?!”
Minji suddenly got irritated.
“What is it?”
“Can you go get my face mask from the fridge downstairs? Oh, and the frozen water bottle too!”
Minji ordered her around like she was some personal assistant.
“Did she leave? She’s not still here, right?”
Minji peeked out from behind her hands to check the room. At that moment, Haeyoung finally saw her face.
It was swollen.
It was swollen. It seemed to be because she had been excited to be chosen by Yoonhyuk after finishing her physical schedule yesterday and had been drinking too much alcohol. ThEven her nasal whining had gotten extra dramatic once she was drunk yesterday.
All that fuss over this? You would think she lost an eyeball or something.
Putting aside her grudge against Minji, Haeyoung had to admit, she still looked kind of cute.
The puffy eyelids, the chubby cheeks. They gave her a strange charm. But clearly, Minji didn’t feel the same.
“I don’t have time! I need to get ready for my date! Hurry up!”
Until they put the mics on, nothing they did would make it into the broadcast. Minji knew that, which was probably why she was letting her real personality show.
“Okay, okay. Just wait a minute. I’ll go get it.”
Minji kept shouting at her to “hurry up!” But seriously, who the hell was she rushing for?
Haeyoung leisurely came down to the first floor. Gaeun, Jaeyoung, Chanwoo, and Yoonhyuk were there. After exchanging casual morning greetings, Yoonhyuk got up naturally and handed her a cup of coffee.
“Thank you. Oh, by the way, has anyone seen Minji’s face mask? She asked me to grab it, but I’m not sure where it is.”
“A mask pack? I don’t know.”
“No clue.”
“Are you talking about the one in the fridge?”
“Oh, I guess so.”
“Why did she order Haeyoung-nim to get it?”
Yoonhyuk’s tone was noticeably sharp. Haeyoung slowly waved her hand.
“She didn’t order me, more like she asked nicely.”
“Really? Well, in that case, have your coffee first. It won’t taste good when it gets cold.”
“Hmm, should I?”
Haeyoung pulled out Minji’s face mask and set it on the table, then followed Yoonhyuk’s advice and sipped the coffee.
It was fragrant and warm.
What is Minji doing? Minji must be stuck upstairs, trying not to show her face in front of the cameras.
Haeyoung took a cookie from the plate Yoonhyuk offered.
It was a peaceful moment. Crunch. The sweetness tingled on her tongue.
“Thank you. It’s delicious.”
Yoonhyuk smiled at her. Just having him nearby made her feel way more secure than yesterday.
“Haeyoung, are you okay with Japanese food today?”
Jaeyoung suddenly interrupted Yoonhyuk’s tea time.
“Sure. I like Japanese food.”
“That’s good. If you don’t mind Japanese food, I know a restaurant you might like.”
“I’ll look forward to it.”
She also had a short conversation with Jae-young. Yoonhyuk’s gaze felt oddly intense, but she pretended not to notice.
After leisurely enjoying her coffee, Haeyoung finally headed back upstairs.
“Haeyoung-nim! You brought it? What took you so long?”
Minji’s tone was noticeably sweeter this time.
Her shirt bulged slightly at the waist. ‘Ah, she had a microphone.’
No wonder the attitude shifts.
However, her eyes were still the same. That same look of contempt, looking down on her.
“Sorry. Did you wait long? They stopped me downstairs to give me coffee. I didn’t mean to take so long.”
“It’s fine. I was just worried you were trying to mess with me or something, making me wait on purpose.”
Minji lowered her swollen face dramatically. Even as she made Haeyoung run errands, she was now painting herself as the victim to make Haeyung look like a bad person.
“Huh? Is that how I seem to you, Minji-nim? Did I do something to upset you?”
Haeyoung widened her eyes innocently.
“No! I never meant to say Haeyoung-nim is a bad person. It’s just… if it were me, I think I would have brought it right away. Before having coffee or anything.”
Minji couldn’t stop herself from getting the last word. After all, it must have been really bad for Minji to have made her wait so long.
There was only one way to deal with this kind of situation.
To make Minji look like the worst person.
Haeyoung plopped down on Minji’s bed and gently grabbed her hand. The camera on the left wall was in front of Haeyoung. Haeyoung’s eyelashes drooped down.
“You’re right. Coffee could have waited and got a little cold. I should have brought your mask first. I’m really sorry. I didn’t know you would be so upset… That was thoughtless of me.”
