The F-Rank Guild Master Has Too Much Money Chapter 18
‘That’s supposed to be kendo…? I thought kendo was just shouting ‘head, head, shoulder’ or something… So how is he wielding a real sword like that?’
It had only been a few hours since his Awakening, yet his skill was unbelievable—just as the God of War had said.
As Choi Tae-hyuk continued his slaughter, the goblins faltered for a moment, then turned their attention toward me, who was standing dazed behind him.
There were simply too many. Even with Choi Tae-hyuk cutting them down, some still slipped past.
“Mr. Ji Yeon-woo!”
“I’m fine.”
I waved my hand to reassure Choi Tae-hyuk, who was about to run toward me, and compressed the wind into arrows before firing them at the goblins.
I had only flicked my hand, yet the arrows of wind shot straight into their hearts, killing them silently.
‘Just how many goblins are in this dungeon?’
Even though Choi Tae-hyuk and I were cutting them down nonstop, the goblins showed no signs of thinning out.
At this rate, we would collapse from exhaustion before we could finish them all.
“Mr. Choi Tae-hyuk!”
“Yes?”
Choi Tae-hyuk, who was steadily cutting down the goblins without pause, didn’t look tired at all. He had seemed drained earlier, but now he looked even more energized.
‘…Monster. He’s a monster.’
“This will never end. Fall back.”
“Yes?”
He blinked at me in confusion, but I ignored him and raised my hand, creating a wall of wind that slowly herded the goblins toward the passage.
The goblins tried to charge at Choi Tae-hyuk but slammed against the wall instead, swinging their clubs in frustration to no avail.
When the goblins from the passage merged with those trapped inside the wall, the sight was overwhelming.
Choi Tae-hyuk looked momentarily awed, then turned to me.
“You can do that too?”
“It’s my specialty.”
I had planned to unleash a hurricane after trapping them, but suddenly, a dull pain flared in my chest.
‘I should’ve brought An Bom with me.’
Perhaps noticing my grimace, Choi Tae-hyuk grabbed my hand.
“Are you hurt?”
“I get pain whenever I use my powers.”
“Ah. Then I’ll finish it.”
“What?”
Surely he didn’t mean to dive in and swing his sword until every last goblin was dead?
Seeing my doubtful expression, Choi Tae-hyuk gave a faint smile.
“I’ll use a skill.”
“A skill? You mean… ah! Erasure?”
“Yes.”
Right—he had a skill called Erasure. I nodded eagerly.
While we spoke, the goblins had filled the space above us, like water rising in a glass about to spill over.
“Then please use it.”
“I’ll need this sword. Is that alright?”
“The sword? Go ahead.”
Choi Tae-hyuk nodded, gripped the sword sideways so the blade pointed forward, and hurled it with all his strength into the horde.
‘Wait—?! He didn’t say he was going to throw it! You’re supposed to warn me first so I can open the wall!’
I knew the skill’s name, but I had no idea how it was actually used.
In a rush, I adjusted the wind so the sword could pass through.
The goblins couldn’t escape. The sword tore through the wall and drove into the ground where they were clustered
At that instant, black clouds rolled across the sky—different from the ones summoned earlier by Lightning of the Scales.
It was one of the skills destined to make Choi Tae-hyuk famous—Erasure.
With the clouds blotting out the sun, the world shifted instantly from day to night.
Then, accompanied by a blinding flash like a gate opening and a deafening roar that made eardrums ache—
The light from the sky struck the sword.
☆ Thunderstrike!!! has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆
Thunderstrike! Thunderstrike! Die, all of you!
☆ God of Thunder has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆
I’m glad my power is being used like this.
☆ Electric Roast has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆
Why does that remind me of an electric barbecue?
☆ Really. has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆
Amazing. How did he even come up with that?
“Kaaaaaaah!!”
The thunderstrike that descended upon the sword pierced through every goblin within the wall.
If any managed a scream, they were lucky. Most were incinerated instantly, their bodies reduced to ash. Even the goblins spilling out from the passage turned to black dust.
The lightning didn’t stop until no more monsters crawled out. Only when not a single life remained inside the wall did it finally fizzle away.
All that was left was a charred C-rank sword, blackened from the strike.
“You can release the wall now.”
“Alright.”
I dispelled the wind holding the goblins captive.
☆ It’s over. has donated 100 Mana Stones! ☆
That finishing move was insane. Now that it’s done, let’s get him ranked.
If only it were over.
“This is where it really begins.”
“Yes.”
Before my regression, when this dungeon broke, a mid-sized guild had been sent to clear it.
At the time, Myeongdong had been nearly deserted because of the ant nest outbreak, and the only monsters that emerged from the dungeon had been goblins—low-level threats.
It took time, but in the end, the guild managed to wipe them all out. Just as they were about to breathe a sigh of relief, however…
The dungeon’s true boss monster appeared.
The result was a massacre. Every hunter sent to contain the break was annihilated, and not just Myeongdong but the surrounding districts were devastated.
Now, the ground began to tremble again.
From the small hole the goblins had crawled through, larger monsters were forcing their way out, widening the gap.
Even without using my powers, the pain in my chest had returned.
If I tried to unleash more force, I might end up coughing blood and collapsing again.
But ignoring this wasn’t an option. My hero, Choi Tae-hyuk, could be hurt—or worse, the entire guild building might be destroyed.
“…For now, let’s just hold out until reinforcements arrive.”
“Understood.”
The tremors grew stronger. Chunks of asphalt broke loose and tumbled into the pit. I swallowed hard and exhaled deeply.
After several breaths to steady myself, the asphalt at the edge finally gave way.
“Hm…”
Choi Tae-hyuk’s groan could be heard.
Cracks split across the ground, widening into a massive sinkhole.
Then, a thick hand—like a living boulder—emerged from the hole, gripping the edge before a giant figure hauled itself out.
With a resounding thud, the monster revealed itself.
☆This Time It’s a Golem has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆
This world is so strange. There are all sorts of things.
But instead of admiration, I clicked my tongue.
The golem’s body was impervious to physical attacks. Its only weakness was the core that powered it—though finding that core was never easy.
I conjured a wind arrow and hurled it at the golem’s chest as its hulking frame scanned the surroundings.
Boom!
The golem staggered back a step, but when the light and smoke cleared, its chest remained completely unscathed.
“As expected, that didn’t work.”
“Then we run, for now.”
The golem’s head swiveled toward me. If brute force wouldn’t work, then escape was the only option.
“I can do it.”
“Electricity can’t beat earth!”
Hadn’t he ever played games as a kid? How the hell do you beat earth with lightning?!
Even as I shouted, I grabbed Choi Tae-hyuk’s hand, stopping him from casting, and dragged him back.
“Golems are immune to electricity and resistant to physical force. The only way to kill one is to find its core and destroy it.”
“…The golem’s core—”
“Do you know where it is?”
He shook his head. Then why was he talking like he did?
☆Huh? has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆
Just use Clairvoyance to check.
Right. Clairvoyance should work.
‘Clairvoyance!’
[This opponent is immune to Clairvoyance.]
‘Damn it. What the hell is this bastard made of, that even a god’s power like Clairvoyance won’t work?!’
The hulking golem lumbered forward. I shoved Choi Tae-hyuk aside and shouted,
“Split up! Move to the other side!”
“Got it!”
As I ran left and he ran right, the golem froze, as if unsure which of us to chase.
“Mr. Choi Tae-hyuk, lightning!”
His lightning and my wind arrows struck simultaneously—thunder from above, arrows from the front.
When the dust and echoes cleared, the golem crouched unharmed, not a scratch on it.
“Ah, shit…”
“…As Mr. Ji Yeon-woo said, it really doesn’t work.”
☆How Do You Kill It? has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆
My palms were sweating. How the hell do we kill this thing?
☆So Much Fun! has donated 100 Mana Stones.☆
A broadcast that crashed into my dull everyday life like a ray of light. This is way too fun!
‘Fun for you?! I’m about to die here!’
Before I realized it, Choi Tae-hyuk had come up beside me. He muttered that skills alone probably couldn’t bring down the golem.
But waiting for reinforcements would take too long.
“Do you have another sword?”
“No. That was the only one I carried.”
He sighed, staring at the charred, blackened blade.
I didn’t carry weapons—my power came directly from my body.
“Then I’ll have to pull out that sword and use it.”
“If you touch that thing, it’ll crumble.”
The lightning-scorched sword was already scattering flecks of black ash with every gust from the golem’s steps.
“If only I had a sword…”
“I told you, physical attacks don’t work.”
“I have the Lightning of the Scales skill. It can damage monsters even when physical attacks don’t.”
‘Ah! Right! With that, we could beat it… except we don’t have a sword.’
I scratched my head furiously, frustration boiling.
The golem, which had been crouching still as if giving up on being attacked, suddenly rose again. At the same time, the rapid clatter of rotors filled the air—helicopters converging on our position.
“Support hunters…! No, wait.”
I frowned at the clearly marked broadcast station logo. They’d come chasing a scoop.
Hunters weren’t here—but TV helicopters were.
“…If I ask those helicopters for a sword, do you think they’ll give me one?”
Choi Tae-hyuk said nothing.
I knew it was a stupid idea, but I needed a sword by any means.
I almost wished I could just make one out of wind and hand it to him…
‘Wait. I can make a sword and give it to him.’
