Yohan remained silent for a moment.

Rivena just waited with a confident face.

Though she had forcibly transformed Yurika into her divine beast form, there was a time limit.

But she had no doubt Yohan would decide before it ran out.

She had arranged everything for this very situation.

Even if he stayed still, the temptation would be immense, and now he was even more stimulated.

Frankly, the fact that he was even hesitating was surprising.

Why hesitate when you have the chance to own her for life?

Theodore was restless the whole time because he didn’t have that opportunity.

At this moment, Theodore was probably being thoroughly beaten by Oscar—but that was none of her concern.

From the beginning, Rivena wanted to use Yohan.

And after some time passed.

“I will do it….”

Yohan said bluntly.

“What should I do?”

As expected.

Rivena grinned. She had known it would come to this anyway.

‘As I thought. Trusting a wizard—this is your own fault.’

From the beginning, she thought it was foolish to believe in wizards.

Every time Yurika soared higher and higher, Rivena endured by imagining this very moment.

The moment Yurika would be betrayed by Yohan Hyrad—the man she thought was her closest ally.

It was only a little unfortunate that Yurika was unconscious at such a magnificent moment.

If she had been awake, Yohan might have wavered. It had been an unavoidable choice

“It’s simple.”

Rivena explained quickly.

“I’m going to take several measures on Yurika from now on…”

She strode over and laid Yurika down on the old laboratory table.

Since it was originally her laboratory, everything was very well done.

“At the very end, after you inject your mana, you only need to whisper to her not to become human—to remain a divine beast forever. That’s how the brainwashing will take hold.”

“…….”

“Normally, divine beasts don’t have much desire to become human anyway… In this case, it was strange that she insisted on humanizing herself. I must have overlooked something.”

“…This experiment is truly complete, isn’t it?”

“Yes, of course.”

Actually, it was a lie.

She no longer had materials to experiment with, nor the luxury of time. Pushing this forward now was close to desperation.

But she couldn’t very well tell Yohan, ‘To be honest, I’m not sure it’ll work… tampering with time is notoriously tricky.’

Although she wasn’t sure, Rivena decided to trust her own abilities.

“Of course it’s all completed.”

After boldly assuring him, Rivena secured the unconscious squirrel and immediately took several vials from her clothing, administering them without hesitation.

The procedures did not take long.

When she finished, she looked at Yohan.

“Now, come now. And…”

She continued with a smile.

“Here, place your hand on the squirrel’s belly and inject it with magic while repeating it. Absolutely, absolutely tell her not to humanize.”

At some point, the temple stopped collapsing.

After Yurika disappeared, the wizards who had come to their senses began to take care of the situation.

They were, after all, powerful enough to guard the frontier. Even a crumbling temple could be stabilized by demolishing fallen pillars and repositioning them as support.

Moreover, as time passed, the earthquakes stopped.

Meanwhile, something interesting happened in the central garden.

A tiger—no one knew when it had intruded—had lunged at Theodore and was biting his neck.

More precisely, its fangs were pressed against his throat, poised to pierce. With just a little more force, Theodore’s neck would be impaled.

Given the circumstances, even the royal knights couldn’t carelessly touch the tiger.

Even a misstep with their daggers could easily snap Theodore’s neck.

No matter how skilled they were, they could not be faster than a beast.

“Rivena! Where is Rivena!”

Theodore screamed loudly.

“Come find Rivena! Quickly!”

One of the knights said in confusion.

“Even if Lady comes, there is no way she will solve this situation—”

“She can solve it! This potion was made by Rivena!”

Everyone present saw Oscar turn into a tiger after being injected with Theodore’s potion.

Everyone couldn’t help but be surprised.

That was understandable, because no one could have imagined that there would be a potion that would turn humans into beasts.

The knight addressed by Theodore continued loyally despite his bewilderment.

“W–With respect, if you would inform us where the lady is, we can immediately—”

“She was watching everything from the balcony above— Ah, that’s right!”

Realization flashed across Theodore’s face.

“He must have seen this situation. He must have gone to Yohan Hyrad and Yurika Medes!”

“Yes?”

“Find those two! Ribena will definitely be there with them.”

“Then, if you could at least estimate where they might—”

“They must be around here!”

Theodore shouted urgently as he felt the tiger’s teeth clearly.

“There’s no way Yurika Medes would give up on Alit!”

“Yes, yes!”

Fearing his growing rage, the knights rushed off without further argument.

Jaden, who had been quietly hiding behind the railing and watching the whole situation, clicked his tongue.

‘Theodore doesn’t even realize what he just confessed.’

Jayden was hiding with Sienna before Oscar went to the central garden.

‘And with this many ears listening… It’s practically over.’

Sienna rolled her eyes and muttered next to Jayden.

“Why isn’t he biting by accident? Even as a beast, he’s far too composed.”

“Sister.”

Jayden sighed and whispered.

Even after seeing it twice, I still find it extremely… strange that a person can turn into a tiger. You’ve accepted it remarkably well.”

“The essence isn’t that different.”

Sienna said naturally.

Though she frowned slightly, perhaps from a headache, she muttered with concern—as though her husband biting a prince’s neck was no big deal.

“By the way, I’m worried about Yurika and Yohan.”

“Yohan? Since when are you two that close?”

“Isn’t he practically family-to-be?”

Sienna whispered, her eyes wide.

“Anyway, he’s handsome and treats Yurika well, so I approve. His eyes look a little crazy, though.”

“Isn’t that the most frightening part?! His gaze is not normal!”

Jayden flailed his hands.

“He’s a wizard… I feel uneasy about him. The Medes family owes a lot to Duke Hyrad, so brother-in-law probably couldn’t refuse outright… but still—how can you trust a wizard?”

He continued, touching his forehead.

“Of course, I would’ve opposed anyone. Even the Crown Prince wouldn’t be good enough for my adorable nieces. But if it’s Hyrad’s wizard of all people, isn’t it natural to feel suspicious?”

“But the Duke of Hyrad has a lot of money. And honestly, his family’s power is stronger than ours.”

“That’s not everything. We’re not some trash family selling off daughters to powerful families.…”

Jayden muttered quietly.

“When I think about the former Duke of Hyrad and his Duchess,….”

At that, Sienna cut him off.

“That’s something that happened before.”

“Yes?”

“Yohan is a different person from the previous Duke of Hyrad. Why worry about that?”

“But— Ah. Never mind.”

Unable to refute her argument logically, Jayden remained silent.

Still, he quietly began worrying about Yurika and Johan, who were not visible in front of them.

It was also very unsettling that Rivena’s whereabouts were unknown.

Yohan looked at the squirrel lying unconscious on the table.

His purple eyes were already filled with a deep possessiveness.

“Quickly.”

Rivena whispered.

Outside, the situation was probably more or less settled.

Theodore had probably been trampled or bitten by Oscar, and the aftershocks of the earthquake had subsided, so people were probably starting to investigate.

But it didn’t matter. As soon as she finished the experiment, time would return anyway.

“The experiment has already progressed this far. Without your magic now, this squirrel will die. It’s useless to hesitate at this point. She’s already unconscious, and everything has regressed, remaining suspended in past time. Only the brainwashing step remains. That’s all.”

Rivena gently pulled John towards her.

Yohan took a deep breath and quietly placed his hand on the squirrel’s belly as Rivena had explained.

And then he slowly began to inject magic power. The squirrel flinched slightly with its front paws.

“You can whisper now.”

Rivena urged.

Yohan slowly lowered his head and brought his face closer to the squirrel.

“Yurika…”

And he whispered in a desperate voice.

“You are human. Humanize yourself. You must, absolutely, absolutely become human.”

  1. Ah is this a full circle!? That the experiment actually worked and that’s the reason why Yurika always thought of becoming a human again when she was in the past?
But the only thing that wouldn’t match is Yohan not having his memories, unless that’s the result of an incomplete experiment as Rivena said it’s not a 100% accurate
