Cha Haeeon closed the documents.

“Is it something like an armory?”

“There isn’t just weapons.”

Bora Unnie paused for a moment with her hand on the doorknob, then chuckled softly and scratched her cheek. Her gaze shifted to rest on Oppa, who was perched on top of my head.

“Our Guild Master’s hobby was collecting rather strange things.”

Brother scratched his bald head with a tentacle, looking embarrassed.

I let out an “Aha-ha.” Oppa had loved collecting all sorts of things since he was a child.

“There should be at least something useful.”

We followed Unnie down to the basement.

As the door opened through Bora Unnie’s iris recognition, the lights began to flicker on one by one.

It was impossible to tell if it was using emergency power or if they were items.

Equipment racks lined the entrance, and as we moved further inside, we saw metal display stands filled with a variety of fascinating objects.

“Wow…!”

I hopped down to the floor.

There were dragon scales, something that looked like a heart, Mandragoras, ores shaped like fragments of the moon… and why is there a lever there?

There really was all sorts of things. It was while I was frantically looking at the items.

Tremble—

“…?!”

The Mimic Jelly, which I had placed on my head like a double-scoop ice cream cone, suddenly began to tremble.

Brother, shivering right along with Mimic Jelly, repeatedly slapped the creature’s bottom.

It seemed he found the shaking on top of him quite bothersome.

“Don’t do that. You two have to get along.”

I stopped my brother and moved the Mimic Jelly down into my arms.

‘Is it because of this?’

I approached the display case that the Mimic Jelly was looking at.

Inside the glass case lay a metal fragment.

Upon seeing it, Brother jumped up and down on my head. I have no idea what he’s trying to say.

“Unnie, do you know what this is?”

“Ah, that’s probably a fragment brought back when the Yongsan Dungeon first appeared.”

Brother nodded his head. It meant she was right.

“Is there something special about this?”

Then, Bora Unnie explained in his stead.

“Look closely here. There’s some kind of pattern drawn on it.”

“Ah-ah—”

“The Guild Master likely thought it was an object from another dimension, right?”

Brother nodded his head continuously.

“Hmm.”

I made a humming sound and observed the metal fragment.

Inside a circle, something like an ancient pattern was drawn.

But rather than a pattern, doesn’t this look more like a letter?

No sooner had I realized this than the letter became readable.

It would be difficult to pronounce with human vocal cords, but the current me could pronounce it.

…Like this.

“̉A‎̧͙̱͋́͝-‎̺̍͟ ‎̠͒A‎͚̐͆A‎͔̹̅̄̿-‎̗”

However, as soon as I read the pattern, the metal fragment suddenly floated up.

“…?!”

“What did you do?!”

Bora Unnie and Cha Haeeon approached in surprise.

I don’t know! I shook my head quickly from side to side.

Cha Haeeon snatched me up and stepped back.

The metal fragment trembled minutely in the air, then slowly began to change its shape.

The smooth surface cracked, and slender metal threads sprouted from within. The threads, stretching out in all directions, were forming a round sphere.

‘A sea urchin? A pompom?’

It contracted as if it were alive and drifted toward me.

Though it was soon stopped by the glass case.

Cha Haeeon tried to retreat further, but I shook my head. Instinct was telling me that the thing wasn’t dangerous.

“I think it’ll be okay.”

“How is that okay?!”

“My heart is telling me so!”

Having said that, I slipped out of Cha Haeeon’s arms.

Then, I approached the display stand and cautiously reached out. Through the glass case, the slender threads and my hand touched.

At that moment, a very minute vibration spread between the metal threads.

It wasn’t a sound heard through the ears.

And yet, it was clearly felt. Someone’s voice!

I trembled with a thrill.

“Did you hear that just now? It says it’s only meant for me.”

I turned around with sparkling eyes but froze.

Cha Haeeon and Bora Unnie were frozen in place, looking startled. It was as if time had stopped.

Could it be because it’s only being transmitted to me?

It was then.

The Mimic Jelly plopped down onto the floor.

I let out a shriek as it looked like a scoop of ice cream had fallen.

Soon, the Mimic Jelly’s body bulged unevenly and began to change shape.

Into the form of a jelly alien that looked exactly like me.

But the color was different.

The jelly before my eyes was a faded blue.

‘…!’

I stepped back, startled.

The blue jelly moved right past me.

Moving with squeak-squeak-squeak sounds, it was as if it were replaying a past event.

It clearly said earlier that this was a ‘record’ being transmitted only to me.

In that case, the Mimic Jelly must be showing that ‘record.’

Then, really…

‘There was another jelly alien in this place besides me.’

Even though it was something I had expected, it felt strange and alien.

The blue jelly moved to the center of the room and suddenly stopped.

Then, it raised its hand.

Light flowed from the jelly’s surface.

No power was contained within it, but I could tell what it was expressing.

It was Purification Power.

The Purification Power didn’t simply disappear but became an extremely thin membrane of light, floating above the hand like a sheet of paper.

The blue jelly layered more purification on top of it.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

Four times.

The light grew gradually denser and much clearer than at first.

‘Purification can stay and be stacked?!’

It could be used like that too?

The Purification Power I fired off haphazardly used to vanish quickly. But the thinly pulled-out membrane didn’t disappear easily.

Just then, Cha Haeeon and Bora Unnie suddenly began to move at the same time.

“Stop talking nonsense and get away.”

Cha Haeeon spoke bluntly as he pulled me away from the glass case.

As if nothing had happened.

It seemed neither Cha Haeeon nor Bora Unnie had realized that their time had been stopped.

Looking back, the sphere of metal threads had returned to being a metal fragment just like before.

I blinked blankly as if I had been dreaming.

“It seems like there are some slightly dangerous items here too, so shall we get going now?”

As Bora Unnie spoke while acting restless, Cha Haeeon nodded and took me outside.

I clenched one hand quietly while being led away obediently.

The Purification Power stacking atop the blue jelly’s hand would not leave my mind. My heart was racing.

‘I want to have that ability…!’

* * *

After returning home.

I sat in front of the ranch and began to thinly layer purification on top of my brother’s head. Certainly, more Purification Power was being stacked than before.

‘It’s not working as well as it did for the Blue Jelly.’

As I layered one more sheet of purification, the light floating atop the Dumbo octopus’s bald head wavered.

I cautiously steadied my breath and tried once more…

Shhhh—

The layered purification scattered as if being pushed away from each other.

The light quickly faded and then vanished as if there had been nothing there to begin with.

‘Why?’

I furrowed my brows.

It’s not a lack of power. If anything, I could draw out more than before.

And yet, the result was the same.

‘The blue jelly did it so effortlessly, though.’

I let out a deep sigh and flopped down in my spot.

The copycat Mimic Jelly had transformed into a Space Spirit, making it so there were eleven Space Spirits.

Hmm. I made a gun shape with my hand and fired purification at the Mimic Jelly.

When the creature jumped, I giggled.

Mimic Jelly raised its eyebrows fiercely as if angry.

‘What a malicious expression….’

This was a phenomenon caused entirely by a lack of loyalty.

It seemed that it didn’t take a liking to weak little me, feeling that I was insufficient to be taken as its master.

Soon, the Mimic Jelly transformed into the strongest jelly among the forms it could take and lunged at me.

“Yap-yap-yap-yap-yap!”

“Yap-yap-yap-yap-yap-yap-yap!”

Round two had begun.
